[SP-F2] Fighting a Rock. <<Breaking the Unbreakable>> <Complete>

"So... This is the place." Nobuyuki let out a sigh, climbed the last step onto the peak of the highest mountain on the Seond floor. Resides on this mountain peak was a small wooden hut with an old martial art expert. Nobuyuki didn't bring his weapon with him this time around, since there are rumors around town that the quest didn't allow you to use any weapon. At first, Nobuyuki thought about how hard the quest would be. Will he have to fight a monster bare handed, or will he perhaps need to fight the old man himself. But alas, Nobuyuki was disappointed to learn that in order to acquire the Martial Art skill, he need to fight a rock. An inanimate object with no way to defend itself. Letting out a sigh of disappointment, Nobuyuki opened his inventory and equipped Manta's fighting gloves that she lend him just before the trip up to this mountain.

~Flashback~

Nobuyuki was sitting in town, waiting for Manta to arrive. He have asked her personally about this quest, and she did tell him that gloves or gauntlet are an exception. Asked her if she have anything similar, and if he could borrow it for a while. He was surprised that she said yes. Sitting on a bench, he waited for her to come.

Manta was getting a bit tired of everyone wanting her help but she didnt show it. She wanted to help, but since she had become a frontliner she was getting request after request. She pulled her handwraps from her inventory and rolled them into a ball, carrying them out of Azure Brigade's guild hall and towards the teleport in town. Within minutes she was standing in front of Tobi. She tossed him the handwraps. "Good luck." She called out to him as she walked away. She had to plan how to ask her girlfriend to marry her.

With Manta's fighting gloves equipped, Nobuyuki make the first punch. "Let's just get this over with." Nobuyuki said to himself, wound up his first punch. The punch landed square in the middle of the rock. He could see that the punch didn't do much to the rock at all, but the quest said that it could be destroyed, also there are no indication that it's an immortal object.

Stepped a few step back gaining momentum, Nobuyuki ran forward for another attack. He was able to apply more force into the punch thanks to the momentum he gain. However, Nobuyuki was surprise that his hand wasn't hurt by the impact of the punch. Nobuyuki retracted his hand, winding up for the third strike.

Nobuyuki took a step back, raised both his hand and struck forward, both hands struck onto the hard surface of the stone. It took another reasonable amount of damage. The young warrior stepped back a few step, before he charged in for another attack. He wondered with this pace, how long is it going to take for him to actually break this rock.

Winding up for yet another punch, Nobuyuki put his whole weight onto the punch. Thrusting his body forward, he threw the punch square in the middle of the boulder. The rock crackled a little. Looking at the crack, Nobuyuki wondered if it was because of him, or is it because of the gloves he's wearing.

It didn't really matter if it was him or something else. For the time being, Nobuyuki just wanted to get the quest over with. He stepped back a few step, then once again lunged forward and struck his fist onto the rock. It once again, crackle a little.

Taking back a few step, Nobuyuki prepared to lunge forward and strike the rock with all his power. That is, until he tripped himself and fallen onto his face. "Ow.... that's embarrassing." Nobuyuki told himself, as he slowly got back up. Dusting himself off, he got ready again. "Alright, no more self tripping." The young warrior lunged forward the rock again.

This time, Nobuyuki didn't make the same mistake. With perfect foot work, he ran toward the rock and threw a hard punch. The boulder let out a small crackle sound. The crack in the middle of the stone is now visible from eye sight. "Almost there." He thought, looking over the crack of the boulder, smirking.

Nobuyuki swung his fist toward for another punch, but this one however didn't fully landed onto the rock. The thing didn't budge, nor does its health bar decreased by any slight amount. "Hmm... must be something wrong. I'll try this again." Nobuyuki told, looking at the the boulder. "Maybe a five minute break." he told himself, as the warrior sat down and let himself took a small break.

Sitting around for a while, he decided to took a snack before Nobuyuki go back to punching rocks. From his inventory he took out a cookie and started munching on it. After a quick break of eating his food, Nobuyuki brushed off the crumbs and got back to work. Returned to the half crack boulder, Nobuyuki concentrate, and ran toward, throwing a heavy punch.

Using all his force as well as applying his body weight to the hit, Nobuyuki threw the punch square in the middle of the rock, where the cracks are. The rock didn't move, but the crackles are getting louder, and the crack on the rock is getting more and more visible. "Just a few more punch and I can stop wasting my day punching a stupid rock." Nobuyuki told himself, stepping back a few step before readied himself for another punch

Following the previous heavy punch, Nobuyuki threw a quick strike at the rock, testing out new tactics. His hand snapped at the rock, before retreated back to his side. The large boulder's health bar has already entered the yellow zone, and it wouldn't be long before Nobuyuki was able to break the rock with his just bare hands, and the gauntlets that Manta lent him.

Nobuyuki continued the attack, chained one punch after another aiming at the crack on the rock. The rock crackled more and more, as the crack kept getting bigger and bigger. "Almost there, just a few more punch and I'm done with this." Nobuyuki sighed, taking a few step back.

Nobuyuki ran toward the rock again at full speed. With his hand clutched tightly, he threw a hard punch with all his weight put into the punch. It landed square in the middle of the rock, as the rock almost split in two. With luck, only one more punch and that would be enough to break the rock. Letting out a sigh, Nobuyuki was determined that he would end the quest no matter what, especially when he's this close to ending it.

Taking a few step back, Nobuyuki dashed toward the rock and struck it with both of his hands and all his weight pushed forward. The rock finally cracked open. The boulder split in half, as it crumbles down onto the ground. Suddenly, a pop-up menu opened in front of him. "You've unlocked a new skill." It pronounced. Nobuyuki letting out a sigh of relief. He stood up straight and leaved the area, went back to town. Once he had reach the small town near the tall mountain he had just came down from, Nobuyuki took off the hand-wraps that Manta has lent him and sent it back to the P.O for Manta with a note: "Thanks for the gloves. It has been a big help."

Pondering on where to go, Nobuyuki decided to take a small break in the tavern back on the first floor. He usually went there when he had nothing much to do. Sitting in the corner and enjoy whatever foods and drinks they had to offer, Nobuyuki would observe the people on the streets, or in the tavern itself. It helps him think of his next plan of action, and where to go. However, on that day, the bar was very loud and disrupted with all the commotions that happened between a group of people that are supposingly new travelers. Chuckling in annoyance, Nobuyuki turned his head to the window, and began to think.

While sitting in his little booth alone, sipping away some non-alcohol beaverage. He thought of how would he spent the next day. He stil have some material gathering orders to complete. His Aegis of Protection needed to be modified, so that will cost some more materials, and he still needed to get some trinkets pick-up on the forth floor. Maybe tomorrow, he could head up to the forth floor to find the mats, or he could gather materials here than make a detour up to the forth floor for pick-up order and then headed straight up back to floor eight.

The bar kept getting noisier and noisier as the commotion between the newbies in the tavern. With a long sigh, Nobuyuki stood up and paid for his meal, before renting a room for him in the tavern. Heading up to his room, Nobuyuki fell down onto the bed in his inn, and relaxed his body. "Alright, I suppose I can spend a few days here to get my fliers out on the service board, then I'll go back to the upper floors." Nobuyuki decided what to do for the next few days.

With everything had planned out ahead, Nobuyuki laid on the bed, as his eyes began to droop. It's going to be along way to go before he would be able to join the frontline and fight to open up the upper floors. "One day, Nobuyuki... One day." The young warrior said to himself ambitiously, as he drifted off into sleep, ending an uneventful day.
