About: History/personality

Akihiro is a socially rejected person living alone in cheap apartment. His upbringing was a normal one; there's neither lack of love nor any family abuse. However, he spent most of his time locked in his room in front of the computer. Refusing to interact with other people, he waste his time playing games and surfing forums. His behaviour turn away people from him and his parents have given up on changing him.

To Akihiro, interactions between people are unnecessary and a waste of time. Often he sees people argue with each other over trivial things, forgetting their so called friendships in the process. A hypocrite, he labels this people. Often he would see people rely on each other; however it become one-sided later on and often they put their burdens on others in the name of 'friendships' or 'marriage'. He believes that people should only rely on themselves rather than seeking out help over something that is private and serious. 

It should be said that before he act that way, he is a pure boy and easily befriend people. However an incident involving him with his friend changes his life forever.

Accused over the crime of theft he never did before, the teacher hands down their judgement before Akihiro could defend himself. The case was closed abruptly without proper investigation as all the 'evidence' point towards him. Later on, he found out that his 'friends' framed him by putting the stolen money in his bag during recess. A search from the school staff was done after the recess as a report stating that a student had done the said theft. As for the reason on why they did that, not even Akihiro know. From that point on, he lacks the trust for people, changing his behaviour so that he doesn’t have to involve himself with people around him. The scar from the incident still lingers in his heart.

Barely graduating from his school, he works as a clerk for a small company. Continuing his life as a socially rejected person, with the release of VRMMORPG <SAO> it serve as a place for him to release his stress from workplace. 

And on the grand opening of the server, he lazily activates his Nervegear and begins his story inside the game.

Virtues:

(Bravery).

In face of true danger, he would stand strong. Death to him is just another phase in the cycles of life and should not be feared. Therefore before thinking about death he put his thought into action on ways to prevent it. Even the toughest enemy won't make him panic.

(Diligence).

Task he takes upon would be done with utmost care. It's the only thing that would give him satisfaction over his black and white life. Even if the work could be meticulous, as long as he can finish it he will do it.

(Perseverance).

Not even the toughest obstacle would stop him from achieving his goals. Even if it is physically and mentally exhausting, he would move forward, not impeded by anything that stands in his way.

Flaws:
(Antisocial) 

Unless it is necessary, and really important, Amatsu prefer to keep everything to himself. He doesn’t have the time nor interest in having friends as he doesn't believe in 'bonds'. 

(Callous).

He doesn’t give two cents about people around him in the real world, and he will do the same to players inside the game. People should not care about him so he could do the same. Sympathy and empathy would only hasten his already impending doom inside the game.

(Selfish).

Not in the sense of materialistic or wealth, more in terms of survival. He prioritizes himself when it comes to near death situation, discarding others if it means for his survival. However, as long as he is not in danger he would cooperate for the sake of improving his survival as long as the party involve is not a burden to him.
