[SP-F1] In Remembrance (Complete)

Recommended Posts

There was dew on his face. That was the first thing he noticed. Evander wiped what he could off of his face, then rolled over to get a better position. Blech, now he was even more drenched than he was before. That was great. Wait a second, dew? Evander quickly pushed himself off of the ground, looking around frantically. He had fallen asleep outside of a safe zone! It was a miracle that nothing was stolen, or that he wasn't killed. Evander pat himself down quickly, then took in his surroundings. There was a deep morning fog upon the plains, and he could not find the sun. Evander ruffled his brown hair, shaking the water out. He picked up his sword with his left hand, and began to walk in the direction of one of the hills he could barely make out. Perhaps then, he could catch his bearings. Evander scaled the relatively steep hill, legs churning through the morning dew on the long blades of grass beside him. He could hear a bird begin to sing and chirp in the sky, as the fog began to fade away. As he reached the apex of the hill, the fog cleared, and he saw the sun just beginning to rise in the distance, the beginning of a new dawn upon the world. As he looked out at the orange rays reaching across the land, alone in nature with solely his thoughts, refreshed from a good night's sleep, Evander began to feel, for the first time since he stepped foot in this world, a sense of peace. He sighed contentedly as the cool wind brushed past him.
