[SP-F1~F2] Step by Step (Complete)

Evander's arm was growing numb from the wraith's powerful strikes. Pretty soon, he wouldn't even be able to defend himself. That wasn't good. The wraith's energy was in the red, and he was sure one good strike could kill it, if he were just able to hit it. If it weren't for his inaccuracy and the wraith's speed, this would be over by now. Perhaps his sword arts were slowing him down? The system assist did have a slight lag. Perhaps he should just try normal attacks and see if those fared any better. Evander raised his sword to block another attack. Argh, he couldn't even feel his arm now. He needed to end this quickly. Gosh, his left arm was pretty much useless now from the repeated hammerings he had to block. He wasn't even sure his left arm could even lift the sword any more. Well, nothing to it he supposed. Evander somewhat tossed the sword to his right hand, and shifted his stance accordingly. Perhaps this arm would have more luck. It was certainly fresher than his left. He slashed at the wraith, but it moved back, causing his strike to miss. Darn. Evander caught the wraith's strike with his sword. Ah, that was better. He missed using his right hand. At least it didn't hurt as much now.

Evander blocked an overhead strike from the wraith. Pretty soon, his right arm would go numb as well. This battle was taking far too long, and he was beginning to run out of stamina. The wraith had been in the red for quite a while now, ever since the first exchange of blows, but it hadn't budged since then. His thorns could kill it, if he allowed it to hit him, but did he want to take the chance that its strike could severely hurt him? Evander blocked another strike from the wraith. He had run out of energy for his strongest sword art. That wasn't good. He needed to end this battle soon. Evander knocked the wraith's sword to the side and raised his sword for what would hopefully be the final strike. His sword came down on the wraith. He cut a savage blow, straight down the wraith's body. Oh, shoot! He forgot to activate his sword art! The wraith's sword came down on his head for another overhead strike, but his sword was nowhere near enough to try to block it. Evander cringed. He really hoped this didn't kill him. He didn't want to just die here, alone. The impact knocked him down to the ground, all of his breath escaping from his lungs.

Evander lay there for a few seconds. He wiggled his fingers experimentally. It appeared he was still alive. The wraith's attack was obviously not strong enough to break through his armor. He fervently thanked the cloak for saving his life again, and stood, ready for more fighting. However, it seemed no more was needed. His thorns had finished up the job for him. The wraith screeched, a horrible, terrible, chilling cry that seemed to pierce through his very soul. It burst in a spray of particles. Evander fell to his knees. It was finally over. He could say with utmost certainty that that was the most challenging enemy he had yet to face. It was time to see what sick loot he got from the kill. If he only got a mat, he would have words with the creator of this game. Wait, the creator was Kayaba, so he was going to have words with him anyway. Whatever. Evander picked up his drops.

Obtained 120 col and 1 mat.

Well, he got a pretty decent amount of col. He supposed that a good meal and a good night's rest was all that he really wanted or needed. All in all, not a disappointing experience. Asides from the part where he was beat into the ground or when his left arm went numb, but that was beside the point. He felt like he had done a good day's work. It was time to see what lay before him on the second floor. Evander walked up the stairs behind the throne. He opened the door. The Town of Beginnings, Horunka Village, the abandoned Tolbana, the whole first floor, and his comfortable lifestyle lay behind him. A whole new world lay ahead. He stepped through to the second floor.
