[PP-F1] Afternoon Training (Piyo)

Recommended Posts

Cygnus had been exploring the fields outside the Town of Beginnings, deciding to gather a little bit of information about his surroundings. About the terrain, the types of monsters around, and a good place to hunt said monsters to gain levels. Cygnus was finally serious about getting stronger. One day, he'd join the frontlines and help liberate all the other players. He nodded to himself, taking a seat under a lone tree to have lunch. It wasn't anything fancy, just a crust of bread and a bottle of water, but it was food. His growling stomach would take anything at this point.  Bringing the items out of his inventory, he began to chow down on the bread and guzzle the water. Cygnus looked out at the town in the distance, feeling relaxed for the first time in a very long time. "At least it looks beautiful..." He mumbled to himself. Once finished, he stood up and stretched, and then drew his word from the sheath on his back. Cygnus gripped it tightly in both hands, taking note of the weight. It was incredibly heavy. Sharp too. Good for cleaving monsters in two. He wanted to prepare for his first battle, however. Death was permanent after all, so he had to be certain that he was ready. He tightened his grip on the weapon and lunged forward, letting out a fearsome battle cry and slicing through the air, occasionally moving his body as if to dodge an invisible blade.

Piyo sat dazed by Cygnus's performance, it reminded her of when she watched a metronome for sixteen hours without sleeping. She let out a tiny yawn and fell to her side, "Piyo-chan... Sleepy..." The little girl laid on the grass peacefully, asleep. Who knew watching weird people do weird things can make you fall asleep! Beside her was a cute plush toy that she hugged constantly, it almost seemed as if it was glued to her arms. Peace didn't last long for her, as she was awakened rudely by her teeth. "Ooooowieee! My twongue! It hurts!"

Cygnus tried to pick up the pace, focusing on improving his footwork and agility. With one last roar, he raised the sword above his head as if intending to kill his invisible enemy, but was a little surprised at Piyo's sudden cries of distress. He lost his footing, but managed to right himself. He looked over to where he heard her, sliding his sword back into its sheath and wiping the sweat off his brow. He approached Piyo, crouching down near her. "Um... are you okay? What's your name, kid? Where are your parents?" He asked, looking at her with a slightly confused expression. What was a girl so small doing here? Did she lose her parents? It was dangerous out here for someone like her, so Cygnus figured that once he got some answers about who she was, he would escort her to the town. He figured he still had enough time left in the day to make sure she got back safely.

Piyo brought her head up and stared into Cygnus's eyes, "I'm Piyo-chan! And what do you mean by parents? I'm... Ummm... I think I forgot my age, but that doesn't matter!" She raised herself up from her sleeping position while still snuggling with the plush toy, "What's your name mister? I'm bored, do you want to pway?" Her talking and usage of words would suggest she is a child, a very young one, but nobody can be certain about her age. Piyo's eyepatch fell off abruptly, "Noo! My eyepatch!" Quickly, her right hand reached for the eyepatch while she covered her eye with her left. Now the eyepatch was back on, but it would leave the curious person wondering about what it was for. "So... Mister, want to pway?"

Cygnus turned his head to the side a bit. "Play?" He wanted to chuckle, but didn't. He wanted to get some questions from her, but he had a feeling she wouldn't let this whole "play" thing go just like that. Cygnus sat on the ground near her. "I'm Cygnus. It's a pleasure to meet you, Piyo. I'll tell you what, if I play with you, do you think you can answer a few questions for me afterwards?" He figured that the best way to go about this was a mutually beneficial agreement. He'd play with her, he'd get to know who she was and where she came from. "So, Piyo-chan, do we have a deal?" He offered his hand for them to shake on it. This girl was a little strange, but the strangeness just piqued his interest even more.

She jumped at the words, 'If I play with you, do you think you can answer a few questions for me afterwards?' excitedly. "Yay! Pway!" Piyo smiled happily and circled around him, "What game should we pway? Hhmmmm..." It seems as if she forgot all about the answering questions part, "Oh! I know! Tag, you're it!" She poked him on the leg, and immediately the little girl bolted off into the direction of the Town of Beginnings. "Catch me if you ca-" Her sprint came to a stop because the rocks were being mean (>:c) and decided to trip the poor thing. "Owiee... Now it hurts even more..."

Cygnus jogged over to where Piyo had fallen, looking to make sure she was okay. "Hey, are you alright? That looked like quite a fall." He felt her pain, seeing as how he has already had already taken one fall himself. He thought about tagging her while she was down for a second, a remnant of his childhood personality, but he decided against it. He already felt kind of silly, being a grown man playing tag, so he didn't want to add on to the silliness factor. He did enjoy a game of tag when he was a kid, though. But those days were short-lived when it was finally time for his pre-schooling. He actually hadn't played a game of tag since he was five or six, seeing as how he was always busy preparing for his future.

"Yeah! I'm fine!" Piyo didn't notice it, but her purple eye patch wasn't on anymore. "Do you have a blanket? It's a bit cold here." Panic. "Oh no! my eye patch! Where is it! Where is it! Where is it!" She felt scared, but Cygnus would probably be more scared because her left eye was completely hollow. her hand covered the hollow eye, the girl's entire body trembled as her only available eye darted across the fields in search of the eye patch. "My eye patch!" Piyo cried, without that eye patch people would run away from her.

Cygnus's eyes widened when he saw Piyo's missing eye. He knew that something was wrong with her eye since she was wearing an eye patch, but until now, he didn't know exactly what. Immediately after Piyo started panicking about her eye patch, Cygnus put a firm hand on her shoulder. "Hey, it's okay. Let's see if we can find it together. It couldn't have gotten far. I mean, you just fell right here." Cygnus bent over and offered his hand to Piyo so he could help her up. "Come on. We'll start our search around here, around the area you fell at. We'll find it in no time."

[No worries. I kinda needed some sleep too. The quality of my posts were starting to suffer]

With the help of Cygnus, Piyo got up from where she fell and began to search for the eye patch with Cygnus. "Umm... You're not scared of me... Right?" Piyo's child-like attitude was obviously still intact, but one would wonder how old she really is. "Oh! I found it!" She knelt down to pick up the purple eye patch and put it back on her eye. The little girl stood there for a few seconds before having a sudden realization, "Oh no! I'm it!" Piyo ran up to Cygnus, tagged him once more, and ran off to the town of beginnings.

As they were looking for Piyo's eye patch, she asked Cygnus if he was afraid of her. He shrugged, about to give her an answer when she cried out, saying she found her eye patch. "That's good. I'm glad we found it." Cygnus barely had enough time to stand before Piyo realized that after Cygnus touched her shoulder, she was technically it. He laughed as she ran off. He didn't realize it himself. He got up, chasing her into the Town of Beginnings. Piyo got a bit of a head start since Cygnus was a little surprised by being tagged suddenly, but Cygnus's longer legs allowed him to take greater strides, and he tagged Piyo on the shoulder as he caught up with her, then turned into a nearby alleyway. He slowed down a bit, not wanting to leave her behind.
