[SP-F5] The Fukkatsu Gem (Part Two: The Lilly Episode 2 Caves of the Dust Devil)

Meokka was looking though her book for the quest. Maybe there was a hint on where to go from here. She really hoped there wasn't something making the holes in the caves. That was the last thing she needed. "Lets see, ah ha here's something. We made our way to the desert to gain our freedom from both sides."

Tae had her arm around Princess Vi. Her body ached but she continued to push herself. Her main concern was that she'd get the princess killed, but if they were to escape to absolute freedom before war truly broke out. To the desert. Where a cure could be found for Tae's back. A salve that could heal her easily. They'd make a safe haven. For those cast aside from defecting the war. For the thieves and the killers. For those with no home. 
"Vi, there's no way we can pass this river, and I'm baking in this heat."
"I didn't know the sun would be so bad today. Has it always been like this?"

"Ah, that's right. This canyon use to be a river. It's dried up now but why?" Meokka leaned back and turned the page curiously. 

"Did you hear that?"
"Sounded like an explosion."
The ground under the princess and her guardian started to shake and rock. The two fell down. Vi stared at the river. It was lowering but at a slow rate. Vi looked to Tae who was wincing in pain. Quickly the princess went to her and put the woman's arm around her neck and carefully picked her up.
"It's okay....I've got you now. Sorry Tae."
"It's fine....I saw something when I fell anyway." Tae pointed off into the distance. "There do you see it?"
Vi blinked and nodded seeing a hole in the ground. 
"Here's hoping we don't run into trouble." Vi whispered.
"Where's the fun in that? Besides, danger is our middle name right?"
"Haha, if you say so."
The two women looked at the entrance. it was smooth and glossy looking. Meokka looked at a drawing of it.

"That's not the entrance I used. Shoot I picked the wrong one!" Meokka exclaimed.

Meokka got up and started to dig. She tried to get out of the cave, but at some point a indicator popped up. -Immortal Object-. She stared at the large boulder in front of her. Her jaw dropped she was trapped here! She slammed her fist against the boulder in tears. Even if she called Tae, Jormei, Calrex, Ariel, or any of her friends they wouldn't be able to move the large rock. "Not fair game! This wasn't here before! You can't do this!" She kept punching at the boulder. The popup overlapped itself a few times, and finally she gave up. It was too dark to see and that bothered her most. Anything could ambush her. "Maybe if I can't see they can't see either." she took a deep breath and held her necklace with her now bruised hand. "Protect me through this Ssen." she took a deep breath.

She flipped through the book one more time and noticed something. It didn't continue anymore. She looked the file over. "Why does it just end here?!" she closed it and her menu. then looked down the smooth path. With that she took off into a run. If she'd stop now she'd slide for a good ways.  It was the only way to get over her fears. As she ran she saw the cave dip so she leaned back and limboed right under the dip, but it only got worse and she was forced to slam down on her knees. This made her spiral out of control and the fastest way to stop was to lay down and spread her body out to slow to a stop. "Oh my gosh." As she looked up she realized why it was so hard to stop. She was going downwards. "I hope there's a way out of here."
