Height: 5 feet, six inches

History:

James had a simple life, and raised by a loving family. He was a sickly child, so he couldn't do much in things like sports, and didn't particularly enjoy them. One thing he did enjoy though, was the realm of video games. There, he could be as strong as he wanted! He could go on epic quests, save beautiful princesses, and be the hero he couldn't be in real life. This time spent "preforming" these heroic feats led him to admire the life of a hero, and especially admire knights, what he considered to be the pinnacle of heroes. Those who fought for what was right, and protected those who couldn't protect themselves. However, due to his frailty, he could never truly be that hero... That is what he believed, until he discovered the game known as Sword Art Online. He knew this was his chance to be the person he wanted to be, and immediately began preparing to obtain a copy. He received that copy, and after giving his parents one final embrace, he entered the world of Aincrad. Now thrust within a game of death, he knows that Aincrad needs a hero... He only hopes that hero can be himself.

Personality:

James was previously a shy young man, very soft spoken, and easily  pushed aside. In Aincrad, however, he's taken his chance to become a stronger person. He loves to help others who need his help, and is striving to become a great leader. He rarely shows his old self, trying to be as true to his ideal hero as he can be. Unfortunately for him, it is still merely an act. A mask, that with enough pressure, can be broken. But perhaps it will become a part of himself.

Virtues:

Optimistic: James always tries to see the bright side of things, especially when things look dire. He's always had this talent, but he feels it'll be even more necessary if he wants to be a leader.

Selfless: James, wanting to emulate the knights of legend, does his best to help everyone in need. Of course, if they need help with something for dishonest reasons or the like, he leaves them behind as fast as his legs will carry him.

Determined: He had always been a stubborn person inside, but he was never able to truly express it, fearing getting hurt. However, now that he has a stronger "body", he's far more dedicated to tasks.

Idealistic: James had picked this trait up from playing games. Seeing the tales of heroes, and watching them turn foes into friends inspired him, and he now feels that anyone can be a good person, if they just try.

Flaws:

Low Self-Confidence: Thanks to his condition, he never looked the best, or stand out particularly well. This had caused him to have a low opinion of himself, even if he doesn't show it.

Stubborn: This flaw is a byproduct of his determination. Sometimes he may press too hard, and end up causing a bigger problem than the one he's trying to fix.

Inarticulate: James didn't have too many friends when he was young, and with this lack of social activity, he isn't very good with expressing himself.

Reckless: Another byproduct of a Virtue, his desire to help others causes him to jump into danger without considering his own safety.
