[SP:F1:Complete] First Few Lessons Are Free <Dark Days>

     Week 1

     Day 1

Sweeping her blade's sword through the flesh of a digital monster had gained her a few experience points but nothing worthwhile. It was good practice to use these boars at level one to understand the game mechanics, and if she died, she could always respawn at the Starting City. Kisodeth, however, would not let that happen to her. She had time to be poached by one of these insignificant mobs and then have to travel out of her way all over again to come to this place and start the process over. It would just be better to continue to push herself and figure out every little nuance the game could throw at her. Raven locks fluttered off her shoulder as she moved in for the kill on the next boar in her line of sight. A feminine warrior's cry lifted from her chest as she took a step and slide the blade through the flesh causing it to once more return to its digital hell. Flicking her blade and smiling with those devious dark lips, the woman sheathed her blade.

"Sweet. A little more of this and I can eventually level up. What time is it? How long have I stayed logged in for?" Her blue, cold eyes moved to the HUD as she saw the server time and muttered under her breath, "I guess this is a good stopping point for now. I'll just have a quick smoke and beer break and then I'll hop back in. I wanna make level five by the end of night at least." The Mistress of Pain flicked open her menu casually and scrolled for the logout button. The corner of her eye twitched, "What the [censored] is this?" She was sure she was in the right spot to logout but there was nothing showing up. Her eyes rolled, maybe it was because she was not in a safe zone? She could not just logout from here. Disgruntled by the design idea, the woman popped the joints in her knuckles and took a look around. The sun on this floor was setting over the horizon, a swirl of orange and blue mingled together summoning evening sky as it would soon be late and drawing in the darkness. Half lidded eyes looked over to other players hunting in the same area she was in. Noticing a man with vibrant red hair using Martial Arts, and a few other kids with spears close to his side. She shrugged her shoulders and started to walk when a strange feeling crept over her.

"Ugh!" A blink of an eye later she was forced teleported back to the plaza of the main settlement, "The hell was that all about?" One by one more and more people were forced into this centralized location. Kisodeth didn't like large crowds of people especially when they were all being forced into the same area. She swore she felt someone's hand rub against her thigh, "Hey! Watch your hand, asshole!" her venomous tongue made sure the people stood several feet away from her as the sky above them darkened and soon a man in red robes appeared floating in the sky, but he was larger than life itself. Introducing himself as the main GM and creator of Sword Art Online, things were becoming awfully suspicious. Kisodeth folded her arms listening to what was being said, when the words had spilled out her heart began to shrink and her eyes became distant and repulsed from the words. She was clearly angry if this was some kind of sick and twisted joke. When asked to look through their inventory for a mirror, she as much as everyone else had looked into the item. Suddenly her avatar changed exposing her true form. The mildly busty ravenette took a step back noticing her real face in the game now as opposed to that stupid cartoon look as the mirror shattered. Kayaba had made mention they were all now stuck in this game of death with no possibility of escape unless they played and beat every single floor.

"The [censored]!? What is this?? Who the hell gets off on this kind of [censored]?" Abby was finally getting her life together in the outside world of this game. A steady income, a nice apartment loft, mostly financial freedom and even started having friends. But now all of this, her entire world was being thrown into this shithole where they were now living inside a god damn VR game! This was no way to live! When things faded back to reality for people, there were shouts and panic. Her eyes widened as she looked at people who were screaming in front of her, they were scared, she was scared. People began yelling as to what they were all gonna do. Her brows furrowed and she tore off away from the panicking mass. She didn't need to deal with that [censored], didn't need to deal with those people. Thought began to riddle her mind, how she was just outside of the safezone and she barely had any health points. She could have died...would that have been so bad? She stopped sprinting and collected herself as she slid her back against the wall of a darkened alleyway.

"Would it be so bad if I died?" Her eyes looked up at nothing in particular, but her gaze was searching for something of a reason to urge her to live through this. Did she want to go back to that world barely surviving? How could she cope in this world when all her favorite vices were in the other? She wanted to go back, she wanted to live at least to figure out if it was still worth it. But if she was having these thoughts now, maybe it was worth living and going back. BUt until that day, she would have to fight tooth and nail to free herself. She had looked back to the start, all those whining bitches in the plaza not knowing what to do. She had stood up and made a fist, she knew what she needed to do. And she knew what everyone else needed to do. Power level like no one's business. But she wasn't a gamer like some of these other people were, and she didn't have any friends coming into this game. So she was pretty much all alone again. That was fine, it would be better this way.

When Kisodeth stood up she had realized that being trapped in the game meant some odd and unfamiliar things. How far could she take this digital body without collapsing, and what about the need to use the restroom? She had been playing for a few hours straight, and there was no sensation of having to take a piss, but she understood hunger and there was some fatigue in her eyes. At some point she would need to sleep, but where? This game was becoming more confusing and more chaotic by the moment. She would have to take things in stride until she could get her head around all these things. There was a small rumble in her belly, she was getting hungry as well at a time like this. She cursed to herself as she placed a hand on the wall and the other on her belly. She groaned when she came out of the alley way. Some of the people have dispersed away from the central plaza, others were still cowering like a bunch of rats hiding from the sun. What meaningless fools, it was better to take it face value than bitch, but they were mostly teenagers in this game.

It was enough to move through the masses now that it had thinned, her first order of business was finding a place to sleep for the night and figure out how to best level up with her current stats. Right now everyone had to be careful, their lives were now on the line and going down to zero meant immediate death. She snickered at the thought, how the hell did she get dropped in on this? Popularity of a game like this? And this distasteful strike of genius of the creator for plotting them inside this death game, how childish. She had to hand it to the guy though, he had some balls on him for starting this and no doubt eventually the herd would be thinned even more. Cocky players would end up dieing quickly, fools who did not take this seriously would also end up dieing. Others who cowered would find emptiness in this world and who did nothing. And then there were the children. She would feel sorry for them, but that was just her. Survival of the strongest. There was no going back to being weak.

That evening sky was fast approaching, Kisodeth had been walking through the city now that it has been more scarce. Smart players were staying in doors for the night, unsure of what tomorrow might bring. She was not going to a scared little girl though, she would find that fear would be a good idea to have though as it would make her strong, but she would not be scared of death she would be more scared of what this kind of life will end up becoming of her in the future. Taking in a deep breath, she found a pretty legit business as an Inn. She opened the door and found an immediate commotion in the lobby as this place seemed to act as a bar and Inn. That was good, she needed a stiff drink. Unless you couldn't get drunk in this game? That would be absolutely horrible, but even a minor buzz would sate her thirst for it.

Kisodeth had found herself sitting on a bar stool, an NPC run establishment no less. She dismissed the colorful dialogue and immediately ordered a beer to save herself the time and energy to converse with the shopkeeper. The woman tasted the beverage, it was cold enough and the taste was a remarkable representation of what she drank back at home, now if only she could get her hands on a cigarette. Despite not having a craving for it, there was something about drinking and smoking that satisfied her and unfortunately only part of that satisfaction was coming to be. The other half was greatly becoming disappointment. Eventually she would have to ask for a room though and converse with this digital trash.

"Hey! You still have rooms available here?" Kisodeth's voice was loud enough to be heard by the NPC. There was a shake of his head and he began to explain there was only one room left on the upper floor. That was good, she went through the dialogue to get the room and then with beer in hand began to walk towards the stairs. Of course the night would throw her another curveball.

"Hey~ How's about we go to my room instead, Lady." Her eye twitched, was someone actually messing with her right now? She had no desire to sleep with some pimple faced teenager or anyone for that matter. There was no attraction, there was no desire to [censored] right now...so what would she do in this situation? She turned and smiled, her back placed against the wall as she looked at the boy, "How much col do you have on you?" she asked. The teen shook his head, "I think you'd be the one paying me..." Oh that was rich, she had thought. She took a step down from the stairs, and her free hand palmed the man's face and slammed him into the wall as hard as she could and then belly kicked him down the flight of stairs, "Don't [censored] with me! Any one of you!" she gave a hissing tone and a pointed finger. There was some hushed tones and she was able to go to her room in peace.

The door had slammed and she had found comfort on the bed. The window was barely cracked open allowing a pleasant wind to blow through. She had sat down and massaged her temple and drank her beer until it was finished off. She threw the empty container towards the brick wall, watching it shatter to pieces before expelling into oblivion. Her head had found the pillow and she scrunched it towards her body as her eyes rapidly blinked before finding sleep. So this is what it felt like to sleep in this world?

Day 2

Her eyes shifted under heavy lids. Dreams came and gone like hours passing away. When she was startled awake, she nearly fell out of her bed as her legs were twisted around the bed sheets. It was warm in her room despite the comforting breeze that came through the window. She moved towards her door and made sure it was locked and secured. A light gnawing on her bottom black coated lip as she moved her finger through the menu and began to undress herself till she was in the very basics of undergarments. It was refreshing to feel that cool breeze trace over the digital flesh of her legs and belly, it was such a great feeling. She had moved towards her bed once more and sat upon the mattress hugging one of the pillows to her chest as she looked out the window. Nearly no one was out in the streets, those who were seemed to still be dealing with the fact they were stuck in a game.

Kisodeth was still pretty much in shock of it as well but she was taking it far better than some others. She had yet to spare a tear for this inconvenience, but she knew that doing anything like that was not going to make things any better. Besides she was hard as a rock when it came to such emotions. The Mistress of Pain, a cry baby? Unheard of. Heavy blue eyes moved away from the lit up city and her body crashed into the bed once more as her toes and knees curled up closer to her chest as she continued to hug the pillow. Once again she was being summoned to the dreamworld. She was having such weird dreams that night, so many different emotions going through her mind as she slept, mostly those out of anger for even playing this stupid game to begin with. There were half a dozen others that she could have played but the one she chose just so happened to be a death game with a sociopath for a GM.

Morning light soon swept through her window as her eyes squinted from the light. She was definitely not a daylight kinda gal, and she violently closed the blinds from the blinding sun trickling in. Groaning, she shifted her body when her barefeet touched the cold ground. She shivered lightly as she stretched and yawn, bring the strap of her tank top back over her shoulder as she stood up on cold floor. A normal morning routine would have her go to the bathroom and take a leak, but there was no sensation of that to follow through with. Yawning again, she tosslled her hair with thin fingers and brought her hands up to her control menu and much like last night and reworked the steps to put her basic gear back on. Unlocking the door, she had stepped forward. The man who had given her grief last night stood there with a sorry expression on his face, "Move..." she said with a violently cold tone. He nodded and moved way out of her way as she took for the stairs. As she walked by, there was a grin on her face, perhaps it was good she showed her dominance to that player and those who were there last night. This way, no one would even dare mess with her.

Feeling her belly grumble the woman shifted her hands over the tight skin and grimaced. The grumbling continued and there was clear evidence that in this game one would have hunger pains. She felt weak and tired because of the lack of food. She sat on the stool of the bar and attempted to work out a way for her to get something to eat and drink, she was yearning coffee and a bit of something else, but the urge to have nicotine seemed to ween off from her since playing. Yet, there was still a desire to have her morning coffee with a cigarette. It was an odd feeling to explain. She had ordered black coffee which was pretty cheap for the few hundred col she had been given as a new avatar, she would have to be wise with her spendings though until she could accumulate more somehow.

A piping hot cup of black coffee was set in front of her as well as a dish of scrambled eggs and cheese unfortunately there was no Marlboro Blacks presented the same way. She would have to find another method of obtaining such an item in the game because the black coffee would just not be the same without it. But she would not complain too much, the coffee was rich enough and the eggs were half decent. Eventually those hunger pains decreased and she felt more awake than she did earlier. Soon she would need a game plan for the coming hours and how to get stronger.

When she had opened up the player's guide, she had noticed a few highlighted materials that were worth reading over. There was a set of newbie quests that anyone could take within the game and it seemed like a good idea to get the ball rolling in her general direction. She read the list over and nodded to herself, it seemed like a pretty easy way to get some of those skill points and a nice way to boost her inventory with a few select items as well. With one leg over the other, she continued to drink her coffee and read over the material for these quests to make sure nothing was out of the ordinary about it like any surprise encounters of mobs that she would need to fight and kill. But the first one seemed pretty lax in that department, just being an ordinary fetch quest. Closing her eyes, she gave herself a mental nod and finished her coffee. She had decided she would pay this Alchemist a visit.

Getting up from her seat and paying for her meal, the woman took a moment to brace herself for the sunlight outside. Eyes shrinking from the blinding light, the woman took a moment to scan her surroundings and brought her map up to find out her current location and to throw out a tracker icon towards the quest she needed to visit upon. Getting her bearings, the dark beauty moved through the sea of people with a rather disgruntled look. She hated to move like a stream of fish with all these weak ass pedestrians. Most of them were still reeling from the message of Kayaba and that they were stuck in a game. She had come to terms with this, but she knew she would have some trouble along the way. Moving with a haste, the woman pushed her way through the crowded people, "Move asshole." "Out of the god damn way..." words she chose to use to get her point across, issuing the idea she was not someone you wanted to mess with.

As she moved towards the general location, not too many players were nearby nor did they care to take upon the quest. She shrugged her shoulders as she moved towards the Alchemist shop only to find a man with a long white beard standing outside the front door. Her eyes narrowed as she moved to him, trigger the events to unfold, "Welcome brave traveler to my little shop! Are you here today for a lesson in alchemy by chance?" Kisodeth rolled her eyes, did she have to play along with this little charade? She understood she was in a game, but come on...

"Yeah, it's like you could read my mind or something," she said with a mocking tone. The NPC didn't seem impaired by vocal tone and continued with the quest objective, "Sounds dandy! Well, I am actually out of materials at the moment and need to gather some more. Would you do me a favor and go out and get me five materials from the wilds? I would greatly appreciate your help!" The woman gave the man a blank face before accepting the quest with a tap of a button from the console. She sighed and rubbed her forehead, if all the NPCs were gonna be like this, this game would turn out sour and her life here would a be a living hell. Although Hell would probably be a lot better than this place.

Turning on her heels, Kisodeth had accepted the quest from the bearded old man. It was a simple enough quest objective, 'go to the wilds and pick up five materials.' It was your standard fetch quest that she heard oh so much about in games like these. But god were they boring as hell to do. There was no excitement in it, but it was safe and safety was something she needed to nestle into until she was properly set for savage battles ahead. The woman had walked away from the shop with a confident stride. That intimidating aura had set off around her again, a blank but cold expression towards those who gave her any kind of look that displeased her. She was very much like a venomous snake, ready to strike at anyone foolish enough to 'poke' her.

As she moved with fluidity of a viper, her stone cold blue eyes set upon the exit of the Starting City. She took in a deep breath and placed her hands on her hips, the basic sword sheathed hanging from her hip against the leather materials of her pants. She surveyed the area with those steel blue oculars, and raised a ginger brow to see that there was some boars in the way; great. Folding her arms over her chest she had noticed a few players teaming up to take the targets out. Her black lips softened and she called out, "Hey, you kids forgot one over here!" she said pointing to the one in her path. They looked at each other and shrugged jogging over and slaying the beast in an acceptable amount of time. She didn't thank them and then unhooked her arms and moved once more through the so called wilds.

Her path was clear cut and she was taking the side that was least dangerous to her. With those kids running around and grinding on boar kills, the woman could find these materials without so much of having to draw her own sword. That was the way you took advantage of people without them knowing it. If she could manipulate others with that fearsome gaze or even a subtle show of her features, perhaps she could gain a lot more than sheer intimidation. These were of course surface thoughts, a good tool is always used and sharpened.

As her eyes moved from the players and their boar target, the woman found a shiny leaf out in the grass. It sparkled as she moved towards it grasping it with her hands and lifting her body up as her hair swayed back over her shoulder, "Sweet. That's one, just need to find four more of these suckers. Shouldn't be too hard at least." She had inventoried the item and set her gaze on the pair of kids once more, followed them as they were killing the boar spawns quite easily, where did they get equipment to let them do that?

She would have to worry about equipment later for the time being. Right now, despite not having the proper equipment she was finding that these low level quests would give her some great items in the long run that would definitely help her in her solo adventures. Blue eyes peered over the horizon as she moved now over the glade in the 'wilds'. Those kids who were killing boar were still within an earshot of her, and she could still see them out of the corner of her eye. All these things were good, at the very least they didn't suspect of vulturing around picking at their left overs. She had no problem getting dirty when the time was needed to do so, but if they were helping her with the clearing out of these few boar mobs to make her material farming that much easier, then so be it. As she had picked up the first material, she had swept her hand through the rich dark raven locks of hair the bounced off one shoulder and over the other.

The solo player really did feel like she was in a world of fantasy, everything down to the ripple of water seemed so real and lifelike but at the same time, there was a thin coating of that cartoony stroke that pulled everything into a world of surrealism. Folding her arms over her chest, she would watch for a moment the two kids dicing around a boar mob to see if she could use any intellectual advice from how they were doing things. It was pretty much the same as when she first began playing, sword arts were of the popular choice to use when mowing down mobs however she had not been able to unlock the other skills before the hellish announcement had been declared they were all trap here.

Kisodeth craned her neck as the kids plowed through the mob like it was nothing, it was an easy kill and two back to back sword arts of varying weapon classes had finished the boar off rather easily. So she turned around feeling safe as the two were still in the area and got down on her knees, "Just need to find a few more of these materials for that old man and I can get back to the safe zone. Even if those kids are having an easy time with those boars..."

"Hell yes, got me another shiny leaf." The woman had plucked the item from the ground and got back up on her feet. She swept her hair off her shoulder with the back of her hand when she had realized things had become very quiet. "[censored]...where did those little rascals get off to?" Her eyes moved and darted left and right, and she knew this feeling very well. Anxious; she could not find them which meant she was on her own with the boars. "[censored]."

Her mood had gone from pleased to mild contempt when she now noticed the kids had wandered off without her. This was to be expected, she of course would not specifically rely on them from the get-go, but that didn't mean she couldn't milk it. But with the kids gone that meant a more dangerous situation for herself. Stone cold, blue eyes shifted as she turned and took a step backwards and turned on the ball of her foot. There was no point in going forward, deeper into the wilds without any real protection. Had she had some armor on that offered a significant increase in her mitigation then things could have played out differently, but there was still time to address those concerns at a later date.

There were more pressing matters to attend to though and ones she need to fulfill as quickly as possible. Turning her body, the woman went back towards the area of the safe zone and hopefully she could find the remaining materials in the forefront of the wilds instead of having to trek deeper into the woods and find them there. And with her buffer missing, she would not risk her neck for a few materials. Her feet moved with quickness through the foliage of the ground as she retraced her steps. She only needed a few more of these precious items and she could reap her rewards. The sooner, the better. Finding speed in her movement, the hot female player glanced around as she emerged from the 'wilds' she could see the entrance to the Starting City and that the spawn of boars had not been piling up.

She was for the moment safe and sound. So she took her time to look around the area to find the her next 'score.' Just as she was about to take another step, that familiar glint caught her eye and she smiled, "Bingo." she thought out loud as she leaned over and plucked the item from the ground. That was three out of the five she needed and soon would be wrapping up this quest line and moving on to the next. She had a solid time of finding these materials, it was not much harder than she thought it was which was a relief. However when she gathered her thoughts, she noticed that a few boars had been crowding around her.

"God dammit...You little shits are really trying to ruin my good day..."

This was a tricky situation she had found herself to be in. There were two boars roaming the area where she was currently in and the proximity of the two were closer than she would have liked. She took a deep breath and drew the sword from the sheath at her side, if it came down to it, she could hack her way through one of them and get to the clearing on the other side. She had stood idle for a moment to see if their tracking would deviate from the current area, she kept those keen blue eyes on their patterns but it seemed like they were persistent on doing staying in the area.

She had drawn to the conclusion she would have to fight for her life on this one and that could make for an ugly scenario. If she died down, then she would be as weak as the worm as she had called others. But she would not be so short sighted of all this. If she could take one down now, that would make her all the more of a reason to continue down the right path. Getting a feel for her the blade in her hand, Kisodeth took a step forward. Her feet had brushed against the grass and it had alerted the boar. It caught sight of her and she readied her blade. With a squeal and huff, is shuttled towards her. Blue eyes widened as she roared with a battle cry. Her stance was sloppy but she had brought her weapon up as the blade wrapped into a blackened aura. She shuffled her feet and slashed quickly at the incoming boar as it fell to her blade, rolled a few feet away and pixelated into nothingness. Her heart was pounding as she jerked her head to look over her shoulder, the boar had been vanquished.

Steadying herself, it was the first battle she had taken part in since her start in this game world. But there was a feeling that she could not quite explain. Although it was only mere moments that passed by, the pure adrenaline and ecstasy that filled her seemed to cause a euphoric feeling to wash over her when she stood her ground and attacked. The feeling was like a drug as her heart pounded and she wanted more of that.

Gulping, the woman steadied her shaking hand and sheathed her tainted weapon. The feeling would pass after a few calming notes before she was out of her lust for battle. Sweeping the hair off her shoulder, she would come back to this feeling at another time. Despite the battle, she was able to find a trampled item from the wake of the fallen boar. She had retrieved it and found it a necessary component for the quest objective. She just needed one more and she would be done with this fetch quest.

Her quiet blue eyes sought the ground as she moved around the general vicinity. There was no longer any danger of the boars that were spawning in her area as she killed the one that seemed to be the closest to her. She still had no idea how she summed up the boldness in herself to do that, it was somewhat suicidal and she had clenched her teeth because of it, but there was that injected feeling of ecstasy as it happened, like a euphoric wave that pulsed through every digital vein of her body causing her body to swell with excitement. She had this same feeling when she got ink done on her body, it was truly magnificent. The woman closed her eyes for a moment, "Get a grip of yourself, Abby. This is not the time to be gambling your life away, not without a buffer between you and the slain." She had talked to herself as her eyes scoured the grass, her foot would prod a clump of dirt every once in awhile to see if she could uproot anything of worth.

This fetch quest however had come along decently enough, she would soon be done with it all and then she could get back to at least some more fun things to do. After all, she was doing this for herself and while being a solo player may have been a slower climb than those who worked in groups, she did not have to have the headache of looking out for someone. Rich, black hair rolled off her shoulder as she examined a tree stump and looked around before sitting at the base. She was given some basic provisions when in her journey, some water and some bread. She took out a small loaf and as well as a bottle of water. She ate little pieces of it before drinking down the liquid. She had been very thirsty apparently as it overflowed from her lips and streamed down her chin and over her clothing. She let out a satisfied sigh and swept her mouth with the sleeve of her clothes. Chewing on the tasteless morsel of bread, the woman would find no happiness in eating this dry food.

She had stood up and tossed away the bottle, littering wasn't even a thing in this game as it just pixelated into nothingness as it left her hands. She shrugged and moved along. Searching for that last material, it was always the last on the list that she needed that took the longest to find. Her anxiousness had sprouted and took hold already, forming the desire she just wanted to get this [censored] done and over with. Much to her dismay, she would have to look elsewhere for that final piece of the puzzle.

How long had passed? Ten? Fifteen minutes perhaps and there was nothing to show for her observation skills. She groaned and complained mentally as she kicked a nearby rock that had rolled off a small dip in the land. Her eyes squinted and she moved towards that very edge. Those same crystal blue eyes widened as she took a step back, "Damn, that would be one nasty fall..." The woman had swept her hand over her hair as it bounced and sprang back into place.

As she turned, her right foot hit another lump. It felt like another rock, and as she had squatted down to examine it, she was pretty close in her guess. It was some kind of shiny jewel, but it registered as a quest item. She gave a soft exhale as she stood up and stretched her arms over her head. That was the last item she needed, so all she had to do now was go back to that old man and claim her reward. Checking out the server time, she was still doing pretty good with her pace. She had expected to be out here for another twenty or so minutes but her luck had finally reached its apex for the day.

With hair moving from her shoulder to her back, the woman made for a power walk out of the wilds and back to the starting city entrance. Her glossy blue eyes shifted from person to person as she kept mostly to herself walking with purpose in her feet. She knew it was only a matter of time before she would be collecting those spoils and would be presented with some exceptional items for her hard work.

Making her way back to the Alchemist, she noticed that smoke was billowing from the chimney top of his shop and that the elderly NPC was no longer standing at the front door of his place. Kisodeth shrugged her shoulders, since he was not standing outside and there was clearly some evidence of work being done on the inside, she figured she would just pay him a visit in there. Moving along his cobbled path, Kiso moved for the door and opened it up with a swift pull.

Kisodeth had pulled the old wooden door open as a variety of scents hit her all at once causing her to back up for the moment. It all smelled...pretty? It was pretty foul to be honest. She pinched her nose and waved her hand as she stepped inside, the scent and aroma of the Apothecary's environment subsiding as she saw the Old Man in the back mixing potions of a wide variety of colors. There was a huge collection of glass vials filled with different colored liquids, labels of some pretty odd names and a mass quantity of Boar Blood. The woman arched a ginger brow as she gave him a questionable look and then took a step forward only to trigger a discussion with the NPC.

"Ah! Welcome back, did you find those materials I needed? I was just getting things ready here to make some new potions. But you know what?" The old man stopped and smiled at the woman. Kisodeth wasn't so sure about that smile on his face as it grew wide. He had given her a look and started to brush the long white beard of his chin. She gave him a look, "You better not try anything, Old Man. I will beat you to an inch of you--"

"Why don't YOU try making the potion instead. I will guide you in the process, come over here and stand next to me. I am sure you will enjoy alchemy if you would only give it a shot! Come, my dear."

She laughed and shook her head, "Like I never heard those three words together before." The woman swung her body around the counter and placed her hands on the table top, "So, what are we gonna make today? A potion that will turn someone into a frog or something? Isn't that what alchemy is all about anyways?" she asked.

The old man laughed at her jest and shook his head, "No, nothing malevolent such as that. We'll try something small, like a simple healing potion. Now then, we need a few ingredients. Water is very important for alchemists, also having a keen eye and measuring the right amount of liquids. Here, you try. Sometimes it takes a little practice to do this."

"Alright, seems simple enough." Kisodeth hip bumped the old man out of the way as she got an eyeful on the layout of the liquids that needed to be measured and used. She took a vial of water and poured about a quarter of it into a larger beaker. She put it over the burner and let it boil for a bit before she took something called 'crushed remedy extract.' She shrugged her shoulders and looked at the old man.

He carelessly kept his hands behind him and looked over her shoulder to see what she was doing and then smiled back at her, "Creepy old Goat. Hey, is this right or not? Shouldn't you be guiding me to do this? What if I accidentally blow this place up?" The old man laughed and shook his head stroking his beard with one hand, "I don't have anything here that would cause an explosion. Don't worry, we are all safe here."

Kisodeth had knit her brows, "Not if I pull out my sword and hack you into pieces..." she muttered under her breath. With an exhausted snort, the woman began to mix different liquids together with the water as it boiled. There was a slight shimmer of green before the liquid began to boil over, pop and fizzle with a poof of smoke erupting from the glassware. She had failed.

Her face had blackened from the smoke and small explosion her potion had made. She blinked several times and swept away the smoke with her hand as she coughed gently, "Well, [censored]. I thought you were gonna help me, Old man?" she said with a rather disgruntled expression. The old alchemist  shook his head, "You used too much of everything. When you create potions, you have to take care of what sort of ingredients you use and how much you use it. For minor healing potions, you want a solution that bonds with the water not over powers it. Try again," he said with a gesture of his hands.

Kisodeth rolled her shoulders, if he was a regular player character she would have punched him square in the nose. But this was a quest NPC and there had to be some kind of truth to his instruction. But she would bend to his will and try again. Picking up a flask of water and pouring it in a new beaker, the woman lowered the heat of the burner so the water could bubble lightly. Once more she took the remedy tonic and began to eyeball the measurements. There was a plethora of tools beside her as well as an eye dropper. That could be useful, and he said it should not overpower the water but bond with it. Right...

The liquid began to fizzle once more and pop and splash, but the heat was lowered and the liquids began to meld with one another. A sparkling green mixture soon formed within the beaker and the woman smiled smugly, "No explosions this time. Looks like it went off without a hitch. What do you think?" She had turned her head to face the old alchemist and he smiled with a happy nod.

"That is some excellent alchemizing, it is not a perfect solution, but it is one that will do just fine in the end." The man took the beaker and poured the solution into a vial and swished it around lightly before placing it with the others. Then he looked and turned towards Kisodeth, and to her this finally ment the ending of this damn fetch quest and she could finally get her rewards.

Swelling with victory, the woman folded her arms over her chest and was ready to accept her rewards. Her finger twitched with anticipation of clicking the summary of loot and bolting out the door, however that Old Man just stood there with that corny as hell smile on his face like he was waiting for her. "Ok, so it looks like I am done here, right? I mean, I was expecting a reward or something for all my hard efforts." The Old Man laughed and shook his head, but this was no laughing matter, in fact Kisodeth was on the verge of going postal with this NPC no matter what the in game rules say about touching them. SHe had dropped her hands to her sides and formed a white knuckled fist to show her extreme dislike for the situation. The NPC read the scenario as hostile and held up his hands, "Now wait just a moment. No need to fuss. I would ask of you to do one more little thing for me," the Old Alchemist ventured out.

Of course. One more thing, how could she forget the 'one more thing' rule. Her blue eyes rolled and she released the form of her fists and eyed him with a livid expression, "What else do you need, Old man?" clearly she was annoyed by this but it was just 'one more thing,' right?

His face wrinkled with a smile as he looked upon her. With his hands behind his back, he moved back to his work station and placed his hand on a small box. He looked to Kisodeth with that same weird smile on his face. The woman's eye brows furrowed as she moved towards him and the box which his hand was on, "I would ask you to deliver a package for me to a certain Blacksmith friend of mine, he is expecting this very soon. Should you do me this favor, you will receive a very nice reward for all your troubles. Now, please take the package to Lyle Tealeaf. You can find him in the Blacksmith's Court on the opposite side of the Shop District."

Sapphire cold eyes rolled as she accepted the package, "Whatever old man, but all this walking better have a good reward by the end of it. I guess I'll be off then." Kisodeth had received the package and she had half the mind to actually check out the contents, but she assumed they were only vanity potions and not worth much to be stealing for. So she had sighed and walked out of the building as the old man waved and said good-bye to her. Kisodeth's eyes had adjusted to the sunlight outside, nearly squinting as she got her bearings. She brought up her map to check out the quest marker and she groaned, "He wasn't kidding. Its on the complete opposite side of town. I guess I have a walk ahead of me."

Kisodeth was not very much a fan of cardio work, and this seemed like a lot more trouble than it was worth. But in the end, she got free stuff for doing a small fetch quest and a small delivery quest alongside of it. She just wandered what kind of goodies she would get after everything was said and done. However, thinking about it was not going to get this job completed. With a quick stretch of her limbs, she was off towards her next destination.

Kisodeth had been walking slowly, but she was excited to end this ordeal delivery service. Yet at the same time she found it a good idea to keep tabs on certain places that she had passed by. Sapphire eyes looked around to different shops which she started to mark the locations on her map, figuring it would be a good time to organize a time to check each place out. With the back of her hand, she flicked the long tendrils of black, lustrous hair off her shoulder as it rolled behind her. Having it parted a certain way usually had caused it to shift from her shoulder, perhaps looking into doing something about that in the near future. Her steps were light as she continued to follow the track marker for the quest. She would stop and examine something here and there that was of notable interest until she moved along to something else.

Wading through the sea of people, the woman had a disgruntled look about her. She would use her hands to move bodies of people at a time when there was traffic in front of her. People were so stupid sometimes, standing in the middle of a crossway so other's couldn't get past. Much like the real world, the only way to break someone into having manners was by being physical with that person and telling them off. With how the current player morality was right now, a simple life threat spooked most players so they would move without hesitation. Hopefully they would mark her image in their heads, she would be not so kind the next time she would pass by.

Sweeping a hand across her forehead, Kisodeth stopped at the entrance to the quest marker shop. This was the shop of Lyle Tealeaf, the BlackSmith. The woman rolled her head and popped the joints in her shoulder as she felt a glistening bead of sweat roll off her brow. It sure was a warm day, and once she had moved towards the blacksmith shot, the heat had transformed into a sauna. Not that she didn't mind it, she would prefer the harsh heat than any other cold environment. The first floor had an optimal environment to her liking, a little cooler would have been nice, perhaps a breeze...

She shifted as she entered and the door creaked open when she noticed a man working in the back. This must be the NPC that she needs to talk to. Her eyes were on his form, blue oculars addressed the player as he looked over her, "Why hello there! Can I help you with something?" The dialogue was what you would expect from a quest NPC. The woman shrugged, "Yeah, I actually have a package for you. You are Lyle Tealeaf, right?" She asked. This had caused the Blacksmith to smile wide.

"Ahahaha! Yes, yes. That is me. You say you have a package for me? I was actually expecting one from my old friend, Zakariah. Please come on in and set the package right on the counter there. I am almost done with this sword."

The woman shrugged her shoulders once more. Guess she had to wait a little while longer before getting her rewards. She was not what you would call a patient woman, but she knew better than to speed through everything. Rolling her blue eyes, Kisodeth took a stroll around the shop while she heard the occasional anvil being struck by a hammer and metal and then a splash dipped into the pool of water. She raised one hand and slid a finger along the edge of a nearby sword. She didn't even nick her finger and the blade seemed to be dusty as well. She wondered if this NPC even made any money selling this garbage. She mentally shrugged when she heard Lyle behind her sifting around on the counter and examining his items. The Quest had been completed and small pop up box appeared in front of her.

<Quest Items Received>

  •  x5 Tier One Health Potions of Uncommon Quality (+40HP)
  •  x1 Tier One Damage Potion. (+1 Damage)
  • x1 Tier One Over-Health Potion (+50 Temp. HP)

A blackened smile tugged on her lips when she scrolled down to see she had accumulated a few potions of varying kinds. That was good enough for her, in the end the quest was not as bad as it seemed, "Thank you so much for dropping off the contents of the package. If you have a moment, I would like to speak with you on a matter of importance."

The woman turned on the ball of her foot and walked towards the blacksmith and his counter, her elbows slid across the surface as she leaned in on what he needed to say to her, "What else do you need?" she asked.

There was a line of dialogue and Kisodeth shook her head, black hair falling around her hip as she shook it as she didn't want to deal with this quest at the moment, "Thank you. Well I would like to craft a new weapon and there will be something special for you if you are able to help me collect some materials for it." Oh great, another fetch quest. What the hell is up with this game its fetch quests? The woman looked bored from the expression on her face, the man continued to drone on and then said the only way to get the materials is by slaying some boar pups.

Her ginger brows arched at the mention of having to slay something for materials. Now that was something she could wrap her head around. However after everything was said and done she wanted to do a bit of resting, perhaps have a bite to eat and catch up on some reading. It was probably not such a lucrative idea to not start the quest right away, but she would find out what happens later from all of this. Until then, she had saved the quest in her journal and would continue it at a later date.

A day of had pretty much gone and past with Kisodeth. She had felt productive with herself for the most part and with the quest under her belt, and a few free potions, she found it to be quite lucrative. The next on her list was the Blacksmith and his request, that would come soon. Until then, Aincrad of Floor One had started to get dark once again, shifting from day to night. A cool breeze brushed passed her body unshelving her hair from her shoulder as it was swept back. Blue dull eyes were set aflame by the hit of the moon rays and the flickering of the lighted poles outside of the settlement. Kisodeth turned on the ball of her foot as her arms moved with the rest of her body as she decided to take a small walk around the vicinity of her Inn.

As she was passing by a rather noisy establishment, there seemed to be a few cheers and some laughter going on inside. She had peered through the window but the voices had been muffled. Against her better judgment, she stepped inside and noticed it was actually something of a bar. Her ginger brows wondered if she could get a stiff drink here, anything to settle herself for a little bit. Sitting upon the stool, the woman ordered a small beer and looked over her shoulder at the commotion. From what she heard, someone had scored a pretty nice loot drop and the party was celebrating. The woman gave a mental sigh, she still had a lot of work to do to get to that point being a solo player, but at least she was enjoying her peace.
