It was a lot deeper than he had been into before, and there was an occasional wild boar that kept him on his toes. Actually, he remembered that he could actually search for treasure chests this far into the woods. He had never tried before, but it would be worth it if he could find something. And that's how he wound up deviating from a simple delivery to duck around the woods and dodge wild boars to try and find loot. Spoiler Search for treasure chest - ID 93759 Treasure chest found! And, in an outcropping of rocks that blocked it from view, he poked his head around to find one! He hopped up onto the rocks, climbing over to get himself closer. Today must really be his lucky day! He peered down at the lock, trying to figure out the best way to get this thing open. Well... he probably just opened it? It's not like there is anything bad that can come out of a treasure chest, right? Spoiler Opening Chest - ID 93760 Loot die result - 8 (75 col, 3 T1 materials, 2 rare consumables) He peered into the opening, finding a trove of items! This was excellent! Unfortunately, his cheering over the chest had attracted a few extra friends, so Ben quickly got himself out of there. It took a bit of running and dodging before he made his way back to the road and back on track. But at least he had gotten a lot more out of this quest than usual. Heck, at this rate he would be on his way to buying his own workshop pretty soon. Maybe he would need to search some higher floors for the better items though- the first floor obviously didn't have very deep chests. Link to post Share on other sites
Benjamin Bookworm 0 Posted January 9, 2018 Author #23 Report Share Posted January 9, 2018 Luckily for him, the rest of the walk to the blacksmith's shop went a lot smoother, and Ben soon found himself within sight of a strong wooden cottage that had an old fashioned iron forge next to it. A large man worked by the forge, not noticing Ben as he approached- that must be Lyle. "Hey! I got your package from Zackariah, Lyle." The man turned at the sound of his name, and put his tools down before coming over. "Ah, just what I had been waiting for! This will help out my work... Now then, you must be one of the new adventurers that ol' Zack uses as his delivery boys, eh? Would you be willing to help out on a little task of mine?" Ben checked his HUD as he gave the item over - it seemed that finished up the first quest in the line. He decided not to take the next quest quite yet- it was late, and he was tired. Maybe he would come back once he found a partner to finish the quest with. For now, he began the walk home.
