[SP-F5] Learning to Survive <The Traveler>

Recommended Posts

Minako teleported to the fifth floor. The unbearable heat and coarse sand pelted her exposed knees and shins as she came into physicality. He raised her arm in front of her face to shield it from the blasts of warm heat cast from the large sun. Just how big was Aincrad, to be able to house entire worlds in it? How big was this floor anyway. It was only the fifth floor so it had to have been one of the large ones. But enough thought about how things worked. There was a reason why she was here and she was going to do it by golly. And as luck would have it she didn't have to wait long for what she was looking to do, have happened did. A cloaked NPC approached her, begging for help. Minako gave a bow and accepted the pleading NPC's quest line.

Minako checked all of her equipment before she headed out. She wanted to be ready for just about anything. She heard that there were sand sharks that preyed on the fifth floor, and with the little combat experience she had in the game, she didn't want to get caught by one. She entered a small tavern and saw a plethora of NPCs and other players alike. They all mingled together both of them smelling the place up with sweat and beer. Minako held her nose as she stepped over the water fountain, and filled up a small flask with it. Still pinching her nose, she stepped back outside, the sun blinding her temporarily as she did. The wind picked up again, but the wind did not carry as it did on other floors. It, like the rest of the floor, was hot and arid. And carried discomfort wherever it went.

Minako left the safety of the city behind her hair becoming untied in the harsh winds of the desert. He hair whipped around, tugging at he hair as it did it caused her to jerk her head back every now and again. He pushed forward, however, eager and willing to find that lost or stolen cart of goods and supplies that went missing as per the NPC's quest. This was different than completing some beginner quests. There she had help and some new friends. But here she was alone, and she needed to be. She had to be. She needed to prove to herself that she could do simple tasks alone, with no help. Otherwise, she would be useless to everyone around her. She had already made so many friends now, it was as simple as walking out a door. But she was standing alone now, just as she needed to be.
