Crim 0 Posted January 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2013 Does anyone know anyone that can come up with a basic HTML Character sheet? I already have a decent layout made using a Character Sheet Layout using a program called NBOS Character Sheet but sadly i lack the knowledge to make it an HTML. Anyone think this could be possible to do or use an RPG system similar to keep track of people's states? I'm all up for posting character sheets but being able to use an HTML Format, it will make it look neater and organized. Thoughts and Ideas?
Kay 0 Posted January 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I think I might know someone, though I'm not sure they can and make no promises about what can be done but I'll ask them. On another note, what are you looking for maybe I can craft it if my friends can't?
Namine 0 Posted January 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I can look into stuff too, but I'd like to see what Kay and you come up with first before I start.
Crim 0 Posted January 30, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Well i found something like this [attachment=0]Character sheet.png[/attachment] I found it while running around the site. It an In post HTML code (i think) and we can update it as people advance. But of course ours will have a different layout and different sections
Kay 0 Posted January 30, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2013 OK so far my friends have yet to get back to me. So I found a free HTML editing program and took a crack at it myself. Bear in mind what I can do Html wise is very basic. But I have something. What's below is a basic image of what the basic attempt will look like. If you want special pictures for the side you'll have to get them yourself sadly my skills are too lacking for that. So with that I hope you like it : If you need me to edit just tell me what and how you need it and I'll try :).
Namine 0 Posted January 31, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2013 I have Dreamweaver, I'll look up some tutorials maybe teach myself some PHP and figure something out. You can also put a similar thing in profiles here if you add fields to fill out, but GMs and Users would have to fill those out manually iirc.
Mythee 0 Posted January 31, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2013 I know a little bit of HTML and CSS myself, made most of this site recently-> http://drkharma.com/ so if it's just positioning text relative to images, I can handle it. If it's making an image that updates itself according to dynamic text content (like a shoutbox http://shout.gaiatools.com/?id=31 ) I'd have to study up on it, maybe ask a friend for assistance- but it'd be better if someone else who knows what they're doing could tackle that xD;; If anyone wants me to I could design a sort of "cert" for its presentation (like this kind of thing http://mythee.biringa.com/cert2.png But I'm thinking graphics style more like http://mythee.biringa.com/images/skywaystereoresize.png ) And I also have Dreamweaver Namine- I wouldn't recommend its visual interface, doing anything in it adds junk CSS and random parameters to your code that mess everything up @^@
Erroneous 0 Posted February 1, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2013 HTML does not translate well on PHPBB3 forums or most forums in general since HTML is a security vulnerability among forums. They have been known to allow hackers to break the forum's regular operations and gain access to administrator privileges, user data, and allowing them to shut down a forum altogether. Hence why all forums have a level of HTML secured called "BBCodes". But the level of BBCode's is restricting what a full HTML can do. Rather, keep in mind that these "character sheets" can only be written in BBCodes or as profile page menu options for users to fill out in the set of "forms".
Crim 0 Posted February 1, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted February 1, 2013 Hmm, well guess we can look into making an BBCode for it (like a template) and go from there
Guest Posted February 2, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 2, 2013 What would we be doing with said character sheets, and who will have access and maintenance on them? Does this fall into the category of character creation to create a character for RP purposes?
