The false sky bleeds a perfect black, and it takes only moments for the quaint settlement to descend into chaos.

Really, the rabble these people can kick up at the smallest fright. Sequestered neatly in a corner where she could observe the proceedings without being jostled by the colorful stampede, Arabelle takes her teacup by the handle and breathes out softly. The wisps of smoke rising from its surface disperse at the expelled air, and she drinks in the scent of rose.

Mishiro: Black rain in F07. Unusually cold also. I haven't heard from Claude since he left the safezone.
Mishiro: Where are you right now?

So urgent. She at least graces her with an immediate reply.

Arabelle: Oh, nowhere important.
Arabelle: Word has it that it's an Aincrad-wide occurrence.
Arabelle: So why don't you just sit down and enjoy the show?

Never the hypocrite, she follows her own advice as the tea shop empties in a matter of seconds. Didn't they already know that the storm had already claimed them in a way? After all, was not the all-consuming panic that rose in their hearts at the sight of the first player disappearing beneath the tide a sort of drowning in itself?

A cup of tea should not be rushed; she takes her time finishing the drink. There's a loud banging on the windows and the walls shake with every passing of the wind as though they would snap like twigs at any moment, but it doesn't bother Arabelle as much as it should. She draws her consciousness inward and silently sips from her cup.

Payment on the table, and Arabelle stands, gingerly stepping past broken glassware and scattered paraphernalia no doubt left behind in the earlier panic. Her eye catches on a compass strung on a metal chain and she wraps it around her wrist, swinging it about carelessly as she climbs a flight of stairs and steps out onto the second-floor balcony. Pretty thing. Functioning too, but Arabelle had always been the picky sort; though the cracks on its glass front weren't entirely intrusive, it was a bit displeasing to one with a sharper eye.

She tosses the artifact into the floodwaters, but not before she glimpses the shadowy figures reflected on its frame. 

"Ooh, scary."

A wave of her hand. [Shikama Douji] answers her call and Arabelle lets the momentum of her spin carry her into a perfect horizontal slash that slices her attackers cleanly in half.
