Calyx 0 Posted July 22, 2014 Author #21 Report Share Posted July 22, 2014 Calyx felt the impact of his sword as it connected with the boar's head and slowly started driving through it. Then, suddenly, all resistance was gone. The entire boar shattered into thousands of tiny, radiant shards which flew in all directions and then slowly disappeared. Calyx froze momentarily, stiff in the follow-through of his final attack, hardly able to believe he had actually, finally, killed his first mob. He was fighting the urge to start jumping up and down like a lunatic, when he heard a ping and saw an update icon on his HUD. He swiped his menu screen open, and discovered that he had gained a new item in his inventory. Real armor! Hopefully now he wouldn't have to come so close to dying against every low-level monster he fought. Enjoying his success, but knowing he was still very much in need of some healing, Calyx headed off back to town, silently pleased with himself and his small accomplishment.
