Funds are always needed. Tokusie, upon deciding to begin her way to assist in the ending of this game, knew she needed money but couldn't decide how to get it. She went from NPC to NPC asking them about professions. Every game had a crafting skill. She didn't like the sound of most of them. They would take too much time away from supporting those on the field. Then she spoke to the Alchemist.

"I will teach you Alchemy. A way to support your fellow players and yourself. Prevent others from dieing. You must gather 10 mats for me." A quest prompt popped up for Tokusie. She clicked accept and headed out to the fields to hunt down boars.

Tokusie pulled her cutlass from her belt and rolled her shoulders. It was time to get her mats and make some kills. Her gentle eyes spotted a boar out by itself and she made her way to it. Before she got there, the boar spotted her. It wasn't an aggressive mob, it could be if she attacked a boar near it. She was able to get fairly close and swiped at it.

A red slash appeared on the boar's side, hitting it for one point.

<>

The boar lunged at Tokusie and she dodged it with a grunt.

Tokusie mentally scolded herself. She shouldn't think this so easy. Her life was on the line. She had to make it back alive to her husband. With thoughts of him on her mind, she lunged again at the boar with a fierce yell.

<>

She missed and dodged another attack. A curse rolled off her lips and she readied for another attack.

The beast was almost dead and Tokusie was feeling a rush. She stepped around it. When the boar hesitated, she sliced yet again. She swung her blade at the tusked oinker again.

<>

She made a critical hit! Thought it wouldn't have mattered, the creature would have been dead in any case.

Tokusie added the items to her bag and smiled. "Wonderful. Only two more to go. I thought this was going to be more difficult." She selected another boar out on its own. This one was a higher level. Tokusie slashed with her cutlass.

<>

The blade glows and hits with great power, knocking the boar back a few feet.

Tokusie spun away as the boar attacked her, with great flourish. She posed and let the boar rush her. With the cutlass ready, she rushed back. The blade swung at the porker's flesh.

<>

The hit landed and the boar fell over dead. Tokusie wiped her brow and checked the loot.

Loot: 25 Col

Tokusie smiled, her first bit of money. It wasn't mats but she wouldn't turn it down.

Tokusie paused under a tree by the road where no mobs roamed to rest. She didn't need to rest long before her HP returned, but she decided to enjoy the weather of the afternoon. A breeze rustled the leaves in the trees and it made her smile. After a few minutes, the woman was ready to go again. She stood and walked along the field until she spotted a lone animal. Without hesitation, she rushed it.

<>

Her hit landed, critical. The boar fell to its knees for a moment.

It felt like a long way back to the city. That likely was because she had to hide three times from PKers looking for weak players like her to gank. How anyone could willingly kill others in a setting that actually killed the people was beyond her. Maybe they, deep down, didn't think people really died from this game. When she finally made it back to town and to the shop, it had closed for the night. With a groan of annoyance, she continued her way to the tavern to get a room.

The next morning, Tokusie slept in. Yesterday had been more than she had done in quite some time. She woke nearly at noon and strolled her way to the shop. Happily, she plopped the requested items before the alchemist. The NPC passed her a book and instructed her to practice making a basic potion of healing. He turned back to the customers and let Tokusie have the run of the alchemy tables behind him.

Tokusie heated the water in the kettle and activated her menu. Selecting the book from her inventory added the information to her crafting window. The woman selected the Basic Potion recipe and it told her what ingredient to use. She picked up one of her mats and placed it in the pot of water as it boiled. The water turned color and solidified. Tokusie picked up a vial and scooped the contents to see what she had made. She selected the item to identify it.

1=Epic fail 1 EXP (lose mats if crafting)

2-4=fails 1 EXP (lose mats if crafting)

Tokusie shouted in glee. Her first try and she got just what she needed. The woman couldn't help but bounce around happily before taking the item back to the old man. She produced it to the NPC, who took it with a smile. "Well, now you know how to brew and many more potion recipes are out there for you to try. Good luck and enjoy your time as an alchemist." He turned back to his customers and Tokusie exited the building with her reward for the quest.

Tokusie rolled her shoulders and smiled, looking for her next task. Now she was an alchemist and she knew it would help others on their journey. The woman looked over her recipe book again with only a few small items in it and smiled. It would grow in time. With experience and luck, she would make marvelous things.
