Kay 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #1 Report Share Posted February 2, 2013 OK awhile ago I posted asking two questions. Since I never really got a direct answer I'll post two threads asking. This is one of them. The point of this topic is simple. Items from armor to food in this world have "durability" status a point where they either expire or wear out and then break. My question is should those stats be listed in the inventory screen wherever that may be for moderators to edit. Or should we only get so much use out of it before the sytem pots a message saying "(insert item name) has expired/broken". What do you guys think? Quote Report
Namine 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #2 Report Share Posted February 2, 2013 I'd think this is best left up to the user to determine for now. We can say something like every x hit you take your armor goes down 10% or something, but again this would probably be better handled by the user so we don't have to waste the GMs time to be nit picking at such things. Kay 0 Posted February 2, 2013 Author #3 Report Share Posted February 2, 2013 I think that's fair :). But... and I'm not saying anyone would but the possibility exists for someone to cheat do we just watch closely to prevent that? Quote Report
Namine 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #4 Report Share Posted February 2, 2013 Pretty much we'd just have to see, if people are abusing our trust a GM or Admin will notice it and will put a stop to it quickly. Quote Report
Kay 0 Posted February 2, 2013 Author #5 Report Share Posted February 2, 2013 Like I said before that's fine then :). Quote Report
Aeif 0 Posted February 3, 2013 #6 Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 Having things decrease in durability in real-time would get too crazy, and having your armor decrease per hit...? You would need a different decrease variable for each different piece (imagine having an extremely expensive piece of armor degrade at the same a level one piece of armor would). SorrowTheEternal 0 Posted February 3, 2013 #7 Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 @_@ I'm beginning to think we may be putting too much thought into this. I say we use a d20 system :P Quote Report
Crim 0 Posted February 3, 2013 #8 Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 lol never can deni the epicness of a D20 ;) but there are some people in here that dont even know what that means ;) Agreed, this will be dealt with on a player level like Namine said but if it gets out of control, we can take over. The only places where i see a problem with Armor durability is in PvP or Boss Fights which will be few/far between. I will also assume that the players will repair there gear after each trip ;) Quote Report
