[PP-F2] A chance encounter ~ Lisbeth

Recommended Posts

The change in season was more noticeable than before, the once green leaves had lost their bright hue as autumn was among them. Saito could remember the smell of the dead leaves as a boy, mixed with the smell of fresh cut grass and Saito's senses would have rejoiced. Unfortunately for him Aincrad had no need for such a smell.

The brief trip down memory lane came to an abrupt halt. After a long hard journey he traveled back down to the first floor, a short reprieve from grinding the fifth floor. His shirt displayed signs of being a battle hardened player. His black hair padded his eyes add he walked. In what felt like days, Saito grew from a weakling to a decent swordsman. What he lacked in now was contacts. His old information broker got out if the business and all who was left was Demitry Matters, an old friend he found here in Aincrad, but they couldn't be attached at the hip forever.

He decided to follow his feet wherever they went, leading him to whatever opportunities were waiting for him.

Right outside of the nearest settlement in floor two, vast woodlands and mountains were the perfect hunting ground for material gathering and gaining experience. The perfect place to go unseen and to be left alone. Of course like any of the other floors the lands were full of traps. As her turquoise eyes glared at the monster before her Lisbeth concentrated all of her anger in her next blow.

The wolf had one point left in its HP. After an arduous battle, she was determined to kill it this round with her axe. Sprinting forward, she twisted to bring the axe to travel from her side and towards the creatures neck. Gripping the hilt harder as she let all of her frustration out. Once the blow had connected with the monster and it disappeared into tiny fragments, she wiped some sweat from her brow.

Even if she was not tired physically, emotionally she felt like she had aged a couple of years.Closing her eyes as to enjoy the breeze and tried to calmed down, she cursed under her breath a specific male player that didn't leave her mind. Trying to enter a guild and to find a niche in it was harder than she thought it would be. Sadly, it didn't help her that one of the top tier members didn't approve of her.

Opening her eyes slowly, while practicing some calming breathing techniques, she stared at the falling leaves. The season changes were beautiful and for once, she was happy to enjoy them without sneezing all the time. Hearing footsteps approaching, she swung her axe to rest on her shoulder as she turned to look at the newcomer.

A mysterious woman caught his eyes as she wielded her weapon. The leaves settled as he approached the clearing were the woman was standing. Had it not been just the two of them Saito might not have said anything, but now she was looking in his direction.

At first glance she seemed as if she was a warrior. Even her mere stance, resting the axe on her shoulder, solidified this thought. That's when he realized that this was the first time he witness a user wielding an axe since entering SAO.

"That was some maneuver." The comment escaped his lips before he had time to think. He was referencing the final blow on the wolf he witnessed before she turned to face him.

Turquoise colored eyes moved to the floating gem above the newcomer's head. The glowing tint reminding her of the emerald colored forest that was around Urbus during spring. Relaxing visibly she tilted her head to the side with a smile, before performing a dramatic curtsy. Straightening quickly she cocked one of her hips out and nodded at him in greeting.

"Thank you, though I'm trying to get better." She called out, beginning to move towards him. Her steps were unhurried and as she got closer, her eyes travelled down his body and made sure that there was no danger coming from him. Extending her hand as she reached him, she finally put the axe behind her back and acted as friendly as she could be.

"The name is Lisbeth. You are...?" She drawl out her question, knowing quite well she could see his username, but wanting to hear it from him. At least that way she wouldn't say it incorrectly.
