Sato was a high school graduate of Yomada High. During his younger years, he had been connected to a girl named Yuki. The best of friends throughout the years and then high school came along. The two were inseparable from the waist. It was apparent that he had feelings but she had always been fleeting with hers. He never revealed his private feelings for her as he would rather love her and have her not know than to tell her and drive her away. He never once asked her how she felt.

After he graduated first, he attended college to where she had applied to as well. They both agreed that they would swear on a pact that they would be best friends forever. While he was away, she had mentioned instead of coming home to try SAO. A game? It just meant spending more time with her. Once he loaded the game and selected his character settings off he went. He was instantly teleported to the town of beginnings. The horrible announcement had just been unleashed to them all. " God save us all." He had made it in time just to play for his life.

. Loyal - His devoted loyalty he shows knows no bounds as he will never betray those he has befriended or loved ones he holds dear to his heart. Disloyalty would earn a duel from him or a face of disgust.

. Brave- He never hesitates when it becomes a life threatening situation. His resolve stands firm against all odds and in various situations. Dying to him is an option that he will face.

. Kind Hearted- He cannot leave a person struggling without performing some charity for them such as money, food, or shelter. If it means the last of his coin pouch or his shirt , he would gladly part ways with it in hopes it would serve a purpose.

. Reckless- He has been known to make brave decisions without thinking ahead of the consequences of himself or how it will effect the out come leading to deadly situations.

. Absentminded - He tends to day dream what the future may hold leaving him exposed to attack or to get lost while others are ahead of him. He is prone to misplacing items and other assorted important things and losing them for a bit of time before recovering them.

. Brash- His words hold no bounds when an argument comes around. Even the most delicate of subjects are known to cause war with him if he strongly believes in a subject. He makes decisions that coincide as both Brash and reckless which leaves many dangerous opportunities for all parties involved.
