<PP-F5> Red Sand (Quest)

Recommended Posts

Lisbeth rolled her eyes as she opened up her menu and made sure to check her stats. Loudly gulping as she closed her screen, she turned to look at the quiet shadow of 9lives as they waited for Shanok to arrive.

She had invited the player to go on a hunt for a monster quest that hopefully would end well. Along with them was of course her vice-captain; the Obsidian curse like always didn't look so happy.

Clearing her throat, she rubbed her neck and looked around the sandy vast lands, wondering how would they locate the creature in question.

"Senpai-sama-kun-sensei," She began slowly, trying to break off the silence.

"Are you okay? We'll be off soon!" She said hopefully trying to make him do conversation.

the warm simulated air felt good in comparison to the cold of floor 4 where he had been spending much of his time. it wasn't as if he didn't like the cold but a change a venue was nice. it helped to distract him from the thoughts racing in his mind. He looked down out towards the sand dunes, ever vigilant of roaming mobs. He clinched his fist as the sand mirages mixed with is delusions. He saw fields of white before him slain with the blood of thousands. he heard the sounds of screams and terror but saw no battles. It was like reliving a horrific battle of the past or divining a tragedy yet to pass. His pulse quickened and his eyes dilated making the brought suns glare bleach out his vision. His breath slowed and deepened and his hands glitched tighter. all other stimulus started to fade as his mind drifted further and further into this idea of tragedy.

"Sama-kun-sensei-senpai," her voice cut through his delusion shredding the hallucination and snapping him back to reality in a rush. keeping his face still, his eyes darted to the girl to his side. "Im fine" he said quietly but confidently, trying to mask his disorder. He forgot he was waiting for a player this whole time. he hated the idea of teaming up with an unknown player and the newest recruit of the guild. The truth was, he was growing detached from the guild as a whole. while they still had the same goals, it seemed they were going about it a different way than he wanted. people were coming and going as they pleased. others only took form the guild resources and never contributed. He constantly saw the rise of players he felt undeserving just because they were a higher level. how was he supposed to respect the guild when someone was promoted to be equal to a founding member when they had yet to do one thing for the guild. He had begun to question the motivations and decisions of his guild leader and long time friend. Still one can not survive alone in this game. it was the reason alone that he waited for the unknown player. if he was going to survive he needed players he understood and could trust their motives.

Shanok had received a message from his friend Lisbeth, inviting him to go hunt a field boss on floor five with her and one of the players from her guild. He went out of his shop and teleported to floor five, to meet up with Lisbeth. "I'm on my way, I'll be there soon" he wrote to her. When he arrived on the floor his friend was waiting on, he headed for the location that had been given to him. When he got there, he saw his friend and a player he had only seen once before, but didn't know his name. "Hey, Lisbeth, and hum..." he looked at 9lives, "Hi I'm Shanok, I believe you were in the floor eight boss fight, right?" he asked the seemingly quiet man.
