[SP-F1] The World Of Sword Art

Recommended Posts

Kirito stood in the beginner's town. After all this time, now he decided to get going? Wow... He needed to get his act together. Kirito ran a hand through his black hair and sighed softly. He wanted to help clear the game, but after all his time in denial of the situation, he had fallen far behind everyone else. "Well... This isn't going as I would have liked it to..." He said with a twinge of dissatisfaction. "Guess I'll just have to make the most out of the situation I got myself into.."

Kirito adjusted the starter gear he had and began to walk out of the town, ready to get some training done. Kirito felt partially at fault for the death of many players. He was a beta tester, and could have helped them. But... What was done was done. And Kirito was powerless. All he could do now was get as strong as possible and try to help clear all the floors of SAO. At any cost.

As he entered the filed, the horizon lit up the whole world in a line of color. It was all kinds of beautiful, but what ruined the scene, was the boars. They walked around, minding their own business. So naturally, Kirito was going to slaughter them. All of them. He reached to his back and drew his sword. It was extremely low quality. With no buffs, dodgy looks, and overall nothing to help him except basic defense, it was all he had.

Kirito snuck up behind one of the boars. Curses... If only he had his <> with him... Then he could farm pigs all day. Then he would get bacon. And with the bacon, he could sell it. And if he could sell it, he would get rich. And he could get rich, then he would buy everything in the game. And if he had everything in the game, then he would hold the bars. And he held the bars, then he had all the drinks he could ever want. Profit.

Kirito ran forward and attacked the boat all Attack On Titan style, leaping up and slashing it on the back. The <> squealed and staggered back, looking at Kirito with it's hateful red eyes. Kirito smirked as he landed the slash on the boar, ready for another attack.

Kirito: 5/5

Boar: 1/2

The boar charged forward, bent on ending Kirito for his later hit. Kirito stepped to the side and just managed to avoid it's razor sharp tusks. The boar squealed with anger and stomped with a fit of rage as Kirito smirked at it in a mocking manner. "Weak as slimes is an understatement. These pigs are much worse."

Kirito: 5/5

Boar: 1/2

Kirito dashed over to the boar and gave it a kick in the snout. It staggered back and snorted, trying to get the smell of shoe off it's nose. Kirito then swiped his sword across the ground and at the pig, flinging dirt into it's eyes. It reeled back and tried blinking to get it's bearings, right before Kirito ran up all awesome like and delivered and swift slash across it's face, making it bloat and lose color before bursting into crystals, never to be seen again... Before respawning a few feet away and going back to eating truffles.

Kirito: 5/5

Boar: 0/2 ((5 Col, 1 <>))

Kirito sheathed his sword and sighed, wiping his gloved hands together. "And that takes care of that..." He said, cracking his back and straightening himself out. 5 Col was almost nothing... But he had to start out small. He moped on the memory of the riches he made back in the beta, but that was a different time. And back then, he could die all he wanted.

Kirito then took a glance at the drop he had gotten. 1... Truffle? Well, he couldn't go ahead and eat it the way it was. He could probably ask Asuna to cook it into something, but she was probably bust at the moment anyway. The most Kirito could do now was get into another fight with another <>.

Kirito shifted the weight of the sword on his back and he looked at the boars walking by. Yes, they were good for starters, but he didn't exactly like to think of himself as a starter. He did remember a few good spots for fight farther out in the fields that had larger boars. Tougher, but more Experience.

As Kirito walked, he pondered what the world of swords had come too. Nothing more than a large scale match of survival. And with these new threats who called them selves... Mavericks..? Just a guess, but that's what he thought they called themselves. And they had some form of leadership named Vile. Kirito would have taken to going after him, but that wasn't his goal. He would clear the floors, and he was sure that another player was already after the threat.

Kirito then got a scary thought. 'What if a Maverick comes after me..?' It was a possible. Very possible. Beta testers were not very welcome in the eyes of Aincrad. Of course, Kirito would go around claiming he was the best to draw attention from all other Beta Testers. If this is what Kirito had to do break the cycle of distrust, then he would do it.

Kirito kept walking as the thoughts loomed in his head. It was fine. All he had to do was remain solo. Then he would be safe. He kept on his way and the Town of Beginnings became smaller and smaller behind him as he put more space in between. "All I have to do is just train. Train as much as I can."

Kirito went over numbers in his mind as rapidly as he could think, planning the most effective way to get stronger. "I can live without lunch and sweep a floor for exp and col, and I can send the occasional PM to Asuna and Klein..." He said, doing small math motions with his hand in the air. By complete accident, he brought down his menu. He was about to close it, when something caught his eye.

He looked at it for a bit. A small bar beneath all the menus. It was an advertisement. Most players use ads to promote guilds, or ask for escort through a dungeon they don't think they can handle. But this one was different. "Underground Fight Night?" He read aloud, seeing an image of two player fighting in the middle of a cage, thorns all over the inside.

How was this even a thing? He clicked the ad and it expanded, showing the full page. He read through the words it said on the front. Two players are pitted against each other in the cage of insanity. Winners are showered with prizes, losers lose their life in the match. Brutal. Either way, this didn't seem like Kirito's kind of crowd.

Kirito looked it over one last time before closing his menu. No way that would fly in the real world. But then again, Sword Art Online was unmonitored by all outside peers. Anyone could be whatever they wanted to be in here, and have to repercussions in their real life. That was an easy answer to this large "Maverick" problem, but an all-out death match in a cage was still quite an atrocity.

Kirito could go and investigate, but he wasn't string enough to do it alone. He would have to do it another time. He sighed and watched as boars roamed in the distance. Kirito shifted position and turned back towards the town. It really did feel like he was helpless at this time. As though he was bound for something more, but just lacked the means to get to it. All he could do now was just chop down boars and not over-think it.

Kirito walked for what felt like forever, so many questions running through his head at a million miles per hour. Kirito didn't focus on Mavericks or guilds, he was planning to clear the floors. He was positive there was someone out there with the drive to take care of that menace. Kirito wasn't very well connected, so he would have to try and show up at boss fights on his own accord. As no one would be able to vouch for him if we wanted to join.

Kirito passed a few more boars he his eyes lingered over them for a brief moment. He did need the Experience. And some Col could never be a bad thing for lower levels. Kirito drew his sword and looked over at the boars again. There were only two... So Kirito may as well try and take a chance today. After all, he had seen a cartoon about four kids farming boars in an MMO. It took them quite a really long time if memory served him right.
