» About: History/personality

Dezuel, having heard about the nervegear and SAO, moved to Japan. Changing his name a few month before heading there, to fit in better (or so he thought).

Settling in Tokyo, in a small apartment, living on his savings on his bank account.
He had wanted to make the trip for a very long time, the country was intriguing to him. But most of all, he was interested in all the games.
He successfully managed to get his hands on one of the nervegears, and he was eager about the game Sword Art Online.

Seeing it was very rewarding to those with high reactionspeeds, which was his main forté.
Having grown up with playing many games demanding high reactionspeed and careful placement, aswell as cunning.
Some of his favorites being the ones you had dodge buttons in, and had to move the mouse in certain directions to block or attack.

Having played many a MMO in his years, being not a youngling anymore.
He excelled at those he spent time and effort in, while others he just tossed away as 'junk'. He had never tested the nervegear before SAO.
Being smart enough to read information from the beta.
He knew that this was going to be that game of games, and he wanted to participate in it, as one of those 10 000 players.

Human nature was to be the strongest, to climb the highest and to reach the farthest.
He took this to heart, seeing the onehundred floor creation, Aincrad.

Gathering as much information as he could, about weapons, armor, monsters, NPC's and quests from what others had seen and done, reading 'manuals'.
He more looked forwards towards the actual release, and what he could do then. Planning to make his advance smooth, first on his own and then alongside others.

His reasoning for wanting to play SAO was not due to wanting to escape real life.
It was the PvP aspect, that called to him. To prove himself to others, with the only thing he'd excel at.

Having had a nice pizza and some coca cola prior to the starting of the game, so he could stay awake a long time.
Without having to worry about going out soon to get some food, not that things would go as planned.

But as the actual game started, and the log-out button vanished. He grew concerned.
Aswell as the appearance of the GM telling them about the death game he had now put them into.

Gritting his teeth slightly, he prepared himself. Now more determined than ever.
To beat all those floors, and ultimately escape this trap that he had been placed within.
Though somewhat calming was the fact that he was not alone in this deathtrap of a dungeon.

Appearance: (Check above)

Personality:

Being a rather kind and optimistic individual, but he isn't going to be deceived or let his kindness have him killed. He takes on the challenge of getting out of SAO alive.
He believes he has the ability to do it, he only doesn't know how long it will take, or whom he can align himself with.
Paranoia running high, of whom can be trusted and whom cannot be trusted. Overall, his determination and willpower is strong, not going to lose hope on getting out.
Even if the process would take ten years, he would never give up. He'd crawl his way back out to the real world, and he will do so without the stain of innocent blood on his hands.
While at it, he can at least admire the beauty of this blooming flower of a game, this flower that be slowly swallowing them, tearing away at their physical bodies.

» Virtues:

Lucky:

Also known as dumb-luck, the type of luck which goes against what is logical and believable. Stumbling right over it.
If against the odds, he can sometimes manage the near impossible, as long as there is a chance, no matter how small he'll make it.
Much to the surprise of others which instantly would no doubt follow it up with "Oh my god" or more censored wording. Aswell as yelling "Cheater!".
This is both in computer-video games aswell as card games. Luck is a powerful ally.

Patient:

While he is quite relentless in battle, and highly focused. He is also patient and scheming, both inside and outside of combat.
His high awareness and perception assists in scanning his opponents, then he'd quickly calculate his approach.
Depending on what his opponent is wielding or wearing. Same goes for when he sees a treasure in the distance, carefully approaching and checking for traps.
He also spends much time to get to know whom people really are, even to the point of gathering information about other players, by spying or what else is at hand.
A meddler of a certain kind, he wants to find out whom can be trusted and whom cannot be trusted, the best way to go about it is to gather information.

Tactician:

He is a leader, when he has to be. Preferably he'd leave it to someone else, but if none is around, or/and loss is at hand.
Dezuel will bark out orders, usually marking opponents with pointing his weapon at them.
Though while he may be effective at keeping track of things, he is not placing himself in front of his allies like a protector would.
Unless they've would gain his trust, which can be a tricky thing to get. But those whom do, might come to see him doing things he normally would not.

Observant:

Being very observant, and going hand in hand with his reactive skills and unbelievable luck.
He possesses a sort of sixth sense to dodging attacks or traps, if there is a possiblity of success, even if very slim.
Having combated several opponents often, aswell as invisible targets. He has often been on high alert of being attacked, hovering over dodge buttons or being ready with his weapons, manuevers or shields.
He possesses high awareness of things around him, including allies. It goes in hand with his paranoia of not trusting people with his back to them, aswell as him stepping up as a leader if none else is doing it, or someone is doing it badly.
Constantly looking for enemies and/or treasure, but he will carefully look around for traps first, before taking action. Not the kind of person to dash into the dark, or the unknown unprepared or without a plan B.

Reactive:

His very quick reactionspeed has saved him in many games, be they've FPS, third person or fighting games. He'd be very high and mighty about his speed, even if not actually saying it out bluntly, and perhaps he should be, since it be his strongest trait.
He often picks weapons which have far reach, but also be very quick to use. In a game with durability, he would also try find the most durable weapon there is. Since if you'd be quick enough to parry or avoid, you'd won't need a shield.
In a game like SAO, if getting into some form of PvP or fight with other players or NPC's, he would use his weapons to break the opponents.
Unless the opponent has a more durable weapon than him, then he would do hit and run, relying on quick thrusts or slashes.

His speed works well in conjuction with his observative nature and might also contribute to him being awfully lucky at times.

» Flaws:

Arrogant:

His very high reactionspeed and skill in various games has left him arrogant, despite not wanting to be seen as such.
His way of speaking would be from quite a high position, but he would speak in a nice way.
Even to those whom be not as good as he is, he would encourage them to train harder and make it further up.

Judgemental:

Rather prone to judge people, if he sees them doing something he'd considers morally wrong.
Though he is also patient and wary, so he will not try place verbal judgement on others if he know it might have them snap.
He'd rather place judgement on them in his own mind, due to their actions, if he finds them distasteful or evil

Overambitious:

He wants to succeed, and he will do all within his power to do so. Except staining his hands with innocent blood, since he would see that as defiling of himself.
Thus would reduce his self-worth, and that he would not allow. He however has little problem in bargaining with players for selling their items or looting the dead, since the dead has no use for items anyways.
He also would probably want to wipe out entire guilds of PK'ers if possible, or maybe even pin them against each other.
Would his life be at stake, and with no other option, he would try to barter with them.
Offering information about items, players and more gain that can be gained than by killing him.
In other words, he would make himself valuable so that people have more use of him alive than dead.

Paranoid:

He is slightly paranoid, expecting foes to jump at him, be they've hostile players, monsters or crickets.
He is constantly scanning his surroundings, checking his food, drinks, inventory, weapons and more.
Very difficult to get close to him, since he'd suspect about everyone for being out to get him.
If a girl approaches and tries to flirt with him, he will instantly think her to be out to kill him or worse. Seducing him may be very, very difficult.

Phobia:

He has a phobia for crickets, of all insects these make him most uneasy.
It can be discussed if it be a boon or a curse though, since his senses highens up while a insect is near. The paranoia of one of them trying to get to him.
Despite them being in a game, in a game where you can feel things, feeling a bug in here would be the same thing like in the real world.
Disgusting! Would he see a cricket, he would likely feel compelled to kill it, unless it would be one big mean killer cricket.
