Battle Maid 0 Posted September 4, 2024 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2024 (edited) After splitting up with Reese, Tokki would find herself on floor two for her next stop of quests. Earning the martial arts skill was not as easy as the other weapons in the game. You couldn’t just invest skill points to unlock it. The skill was locked behind a quest here, so if she wanted to deal any meaningful damage to her enemies she would need to finish this quest. Without that she won’t be laying down much of a smack down to her enemies. Wasting no time she would locate the quest giver’s starting location, the first problem that stuck out was the climbing of a mountain. In order to reach them she would have to make her way up the steep path. Standing around like an idiot wasn’t going to help her though so she would immediately start her trek up the mountain. No time like the present, as they say. Battle Maid 0 Posted 2 hours ago Author #2 Share Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Of all the annoying things that could possibly be available to do in a game, walking had to be the absolute worst. Tokki's current objective for the quest to earn the right to use her weapon was now "Walk up the mountain path." How uninteresting. Not even a guide to lead her up and talk to on the way. Not to mention that the girl also happened to be walking up the mountain in heels. That one was her choice but still. Walking up there fully clad in plate armor would be just as agonizing, she was sure. As she observed the scenery from the low point of the mountain, Tokki took in the sights of forests, hills and greenery. Although there was not much else on floor 2 to see than that, it was an especially powerful sight. Climbing a mountain was a daunting task on its own, even in a full dive video game. Battle Maid 0 Posted 2 hours ago Author #3 Share Posted 2 hours ago Halfway up the mountain, Tokki would decide to take a short break sitting down against a tree off the side of the path and looking out to the distance of the horizon. If only she had brought Agma or Serah, at least then she would have someone to talk to. The thought of messaging them to join her was tempting but at this point it would take them probably an hour to meet up with her unless she walked back down the mountain. That was out of the cards. After a couple of minutes, the maid would pick herself up and continue up the path. Of course the rest of her friends get their weapons unlocked immediately and hers has to be locked behind a quest that makes her do a lot of walking. She was the residential fill for the group though and being a bruiser who left bruises was just too funny of an idea for a build. Mountain Climbing Progress: 2/
Battle Maid 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #4 Share Posted 1 hour ago Surprisingly, the top of the mountain was not the end goal in the this climb. Thankfully, the dojo she was meant to find happened to be only a little further than three-fourths of the way up. Tokki picked up the pace a bit, hoping to finish this walk for good now that she had been at it for well over two hours at this point. Was this walk meant to make her appreciate dedication? Did the monks think that only people who have the willpower to climb a mountain can punch other people in the face? She could prove that wrong pretty quickly if she wanted to but she was more of a kicker than a puncher. Finally, she was at the dojo. After taking a short moment to catch her breath, her quest had updated to speak with one of the monks. As soon as she found one who was free, the maid would approach them. Battle Maid 0 Posted 24 minutes ago Author #5 Share Posted 24 minutes ago (edited) "I'm looking for the master who trains people in hand to hand combat." The girl would tell the monk as she approached. He said nothing to her but nodded in acknowledgement and ushered her to follower him with a simple gesture of the hand. "Thanks." A short walk through the courtyard would bring them to a small temple. Tokki had seen many like them in other games so her initial reaction of its grandiose design was slightly lost on her. Soon though she would meet with the head honcho, the supposed master of martial arts. "I wish to be trained in the ways of hand to hand combat." “I will only train those who can prove to me that they are ready.” Was the short response given to her, to which the girl moved in quickly in attempt to kick him in the head. He, just as quickly, deflected her kick and sent her to her ass. "God's child! At least give me a minute to explain what you need to do. The youth these days..." The man sighed as Tokki jumped up from her sitting position. "I apologize, I'm ready to get started then. Just tell me what I need to do." A pause fell between the two as they stared each other down. If it was an intimidation tactic by the master, it clearly didn't work on her. "Well then, if we are to make your body a weapon we must first ensure the sharpness of the blade to be. A sword that can cut nothing is only good as a paperweight, of course. So we shall train." For the next hour, Tokki would practice proper form laid out by the master. All she could think about was how long it would take her to walk back down the mountain... 243692 - CD: 7; Failure 243693 - CD: 5; Failure Edited 10 minutes ago by Scarlet Firefly
