Background:

Chrysanthemum Barbas was born into a household that was as stormy was it was silent. She was the youngest of the Barbas siblings, and the one who seemed the softest, on the surface that is. With fingers that preferred paintbrushes to fists, and eyes that memorized details like they were sacred stories, Chrys never seemed like she was cut from the same cloth as her family. But that didn't mean she was weak. While Eleanor fought to keep them alive, fighting battles with fury, Chrys was learning to survive a different way.
