Zerrus 0 Posted Thursday at 08:15 AM #1 Share Posted Thursday at 08:15 AM (edited) Zerrus Profile: Username: Zerrus Real Name: Caleb Sansing Age: 24-26 Birthday: October 16 Gender: Male Height: 5'4.5"(163.83cm) Background: Spoiler Caleb Sansing was born to a simple family. They were by no means a perfect family, and while they were imperfect people trying to strive for a perfection that didn't exist, they weren't the worst people to exist either. He was a younger middle child, having three older siblings, and one younger sister. He grew closer to his fellow middle child siblings than he did the oldest and the youngest, but he tried to cherish what little bonds he had. His father was a man with good intentions but had a tendency to go into bouts of loud anger against others who crossed him, even his own family. His mother did her best to play her part to be a good mother to her children, but even she had her own somewhat harsh tendencies for discipline. Caleb had been a gamer starting from his younger years, at the tender age of late four. He wasn't really good at it at first, but practice made progress. Just a simple handheld device is what started it all. Outside of playing games, he was typically reserved, even when outside, just interacting with the world around, picking things up and looking at them closely, or even imagining a variety of different scenarios. The only friends he had at the time were among his siblings, and it was a fairly simple living experience. At the age of five, he began to imagine with more detail, have a greater perception of things, and more. His family moved, resulting in him having a new environment to not only grow up in, but also explore. As two years slowly went by, he first got a feel for his general environment, then started becoming slightly more active, and going outside plenty of times by his own choice, though avoiding the outdoors during the horrendously difficult summer months. He began trying to interact with other people(mostly around his age) from time to time, but he didn't seem to click with most people...at all. While he had different interests than his older sister Dalila, he was nearly as close to her as he was to the non-eldest brother. Said brother had managed to find a friend group of his own, and while young Caleb tried to befriend them, it didn't go as well as he'd hoped. Surely he'd find some people he could actually click with outside his family, right? ...Right? When he was nine, he was very aware of the fact that his mom had many friends, and some of those friends had kids of their own, around Caleb's age...unfortunately, Caleb failed to befriend most of them, and while some of them became friends with his brother, Caleb failed...and what really put a dampener on his spirits during this time was that it was also the time where he'd find himself his first bitter enemy. An arrogant, aggressive, and proud girl named Madalyn, who, despite her appearance, used pressure and force to get her way. It got heated enough for the two to grab foam toy weapons...and fight. While these fights were low risk, it certainly didn't help, and their bitterness towards each other was only strengthened by the aggressive rivalry they'd develop. At the age of eleven, things took more drastic turns, such as increased pressure and harshness from the parents, being dragged outside by his father to help him out with difficult physical tasks, yardwork, and handyman-esque maintenance that wasn't exactly within the best of young Caleb's personal skill set... But at least there was good news. He went to the local park and met two boys, one around his age, and the other being around four years older. The two were brothers, the younger brother being Hal(short for Halston), while the older brother was named Mateo, though everybody, including Hal, simply called him Lance. Despite their differences in interests and hobbies, they were at least able to try out each others' fields and just...vibe together. Two hangouts at the park later, young Caleb brought the two over to his house, where they'd meet his siblings. Lance ended up getting along with Dalila really well, and they began to hang out with each other more often. One day Young Caleb, Hal, Dalila and Lance found a girl named Tamsin struggling over a lost belonging. They helped her out the best they could, and soon began to hang around each other, in which she became part of the now growing friend group. Three weeks later, she'd introduce one of her own new friends to the group, a boy named Birch. Young Caleb didn't understand his name at the time, but it didn't keep him from interacting with this potential new friend. He didn't care that he was the youngest of the group. While Tam(short for Tamsin), Hal, and Birch were all the same age in number as young Caleb, Young Caleb's date of birth was the latest of them, as they were all born months before him. Months passed, and the friends grew closer. Young Caleb finally felt like he was experiencing what friendship was. And he didn't regret a moment of it. the ups far surpassed the downsides of them all, even though young Caleb still had a tendency to take off by himself or spend times alone every once in a while. As an introvert, he needed that time alone, but by the end of those times, he was always willing to go back to his friends right after. He became a close friend to Birch, and the two were always eager to share their interests with each other and listen to each other spout out about said interests, even if the interests weren't shared. Young Caleb's life began taking more drastic, though internal turns once he was twelve. He continued to hang out with his friends, but his longing to become a closer friend to Tam became much stronger than before. His emotions were stronger, though his sense of sorrow was dampened to shield himself from his father. At least he had friends and siblings he could count on during these confusing times. A year later, a day came when he, Hal, Birch, and Tam were hanging out near him when a familiar but unfriendly face came around. It was Madalyn, and she'd brought her own friends. Remarks were thrown, arguments commenced, then both groups grabbed whatever they could as it broke out into a fight. Madalyn may have had some friends to help her out, but young Caleb did as well. Whether Caleb and his friends won or lost the fight was of little consequence, but regardless, at the end they all returned to young Caleb's house for some first aid from Dalila(and Lance, who happened to be visiting her). His closer brother would also have some problematic scenarios involving Madalyn, seeing how she was the sister of one of his friends, not that that changed any of the perspectives one bit. At the age of late fourteen, Caleb would find himself in scenarios where he was without his friends, yet was around friend groups that already existed. He wouldn't notice that particular issue until he tried to befriend a few people...it didn't work out as he'd hoped, which was a darn shame, seeing how he'd wondered if he could potentially add more friends to his existing friend group. This kept going on for around four years until he basically gave up on them. The harshness of his father worsened, and as a result of the world around becoming more and more cruel to him, his emotions remained strong, but his growing stoicism became the mask that would hide them...for all except the friend group that was one of three escapes he had, the other two being his hobby of gaming and his tendency to drift off into his imagination, by day and even at night. At the end of the day, his friends, especially Birch, his best friend, always had his back when times were tough. Gripped with the flaws of perfectionism that were passed down from the father, Young Caleb began to struggle with himself. It was even worse with Dalila, who began pressing similar expectations placed upon her, onto young Caleb as well. Despite this, he still cared about her and cherished the times when they interacted positively. These times were slowly but surely growing rarer and rarer, as Dalila began working towards both personal pursuits and lots of excessive lessons and preparation for the future. Not much time for her friends...or even her siblings. She at least tried to make time for Lance, though, and young Caleb was able to quickly see and understand why, based on how the two had begun interacting with each other when his father wasn't in the area. He'd been wondering about those two...and now he no longer needed to ask. He grew in his hobbies and even started taking writing classes, as one of his other skills began to awaken more prominently. When he turned eighteen, a whole wide array of possibilities were in front of him...and he realized that he was never properly taught how to deal with them at all. Thus, he struggled during his early adult life, but with help and support from his friends, he was able to get himself a part time job at the age of twenty...but man, it really took a lot out of him. Maybe he needed a different job, something more his speed that wouldn't drain him every day. It took two and a half years for him to find something, though it wasn't easy, and his friends were getting settled into their own lives as well, limiting interaction. At the age of twenty three on a certain year, Caleb reached out to his friends, due to missing them in person, and began planning some things they could do in the Autumn months, just for old times' sake. September, the group would reunite at the park they used to always go to. October, they would get involved in one major activity every week, aside from the week where they did two activities instead, as they celebrated Caleb's twenty fourth birthday, and November... November was the fated month. All six were intrigued by the claims and promises of the NerveGear. Sword Art Online was the name of the only game that was coming out for it. They each managed to obtain a unit for themselves, and planned to meet up in-game on launch day. On that day, they would come to learn a terrible truth that would rock their world, turning it around completely...as they found themselves trapped within, unable to force themselves out. How they wished they could have seen this coming. As for Caleb, now Zerrus, this new and unexpected chapter in his life had only just begun... Personality: Spoiler Zerrus is typically reserved and quiet. In conversations, he'll look for opportunities to use his own experiences to relate and empathize with others when a topic or spoken scenario is unfamiliar. He may have grown used to putting up an emotional mask to protect himself from emotionally harmful people such as his father, but under that surface he is a highly emotional and wholehearted soul, hoping to wear his heart on his sleeve one day, if he could just feel safe enough to do so. He sees himself as Creative, though he wishes he could control his flow of ideas and be able to stick to something. He is an avid gamer who likes to enjoy his time, be it by himself or with other people, though he prefers singleplayer games when alone, as a bad time with opponents online and he's just not nice. He has a strong sense of justice, though not everyone seems to understand his perspective. He likes to show kindness to people he perceives as good or in need, and while being the introvert he is and needing to have some time alone, he likes being around people he genuinely cares about. His mind is unique, and even he sometimes struggles to understand it. While the Autism diagnosis made him more aware of it and helped him learn a bit more about how it works, he still finds moments where his mind ends up doing something or falling short somewhere in a way he can't seem to figure out or explain...he's also not the best with prolonged eye contact, so be sure to grow legitimately close to him before attempting prolonged eye contact. 143[Error]143 [Personality-affecting affliction detected] It appears that Zerrus is currently in some kind of mental state. He is quieter, his emotional mask stronger. While his internal thoughts are as loud as ever, his surface level appearance drastically differs from his internal feelings, and certain emotions don't often manifest on his expressions, and when they do, they're typically slight, or sometimes suppressed. He has a harder time waking up in the mornings, and falling asleep can also be a struggle unless he's too tired to stay awake without collapsing. Furthermore, there seems to be something on his mind that seems to haunt him, in which he may take off running for reasons completely unknown. Virtues: Spoiler Caring: Zerrus cares about others, and this care can even extend beyond friends and family. He does what he can for others, even if it's a simple favor. He does what he can accomplish and won't always expect a reward. Sometimes, just bringing a smile of hope to someone else is reward enough. Intelligent: Zerrus has been the analytical sort since his early childhood, looking to understand how things work, and observing the world around him. Don't let the stigmas fool you, just because he was homeschooled doesn't mean he's the dullest knife in the drawer. While he still may have his dumb or dense moments, his mental blade most certainly has a sharpness to it. When able to think through a situation, he finds a way, be it a system, a puzzle, or even battle. Justified: Zerrus hates seeing the innocent suffer, and he tends to stand up against nearly everything he believes is wrong. While he allows other people to make use of their free will, he draws the line when someone is legitimately wronged by an action. While he won't always resort to combat immediately, depending on the situation, he is driven to set things right whenever he sees a chance to do so. Flaws: Spoiler Dreamer: Zerrus has a habit of drifting off into his imagination, for better or for worse. Sometimes he won't even notice that he's drifting off until either someone points it out to him or the sequence finishes and snaps back to reality. It can happen during the day, and it can happen at night, too, especially when trying to sleep. Relentless: When Zerrus's mind is set or fixated, there's little he won't do as long as he's aware that he's capable. Sometimes his feelings may reinforce or lessen this fixation, such as anger bringing him to increase the pressure on an enemy, or fear pulling him to run. When in an actual fight, the moment he becomes driven, don't expect much mercy from him, as he sure won't expect it from you. When provoked, he has a tendency to take it out on the offender...for better or for worse. Emotional: Zerrus is highly emotional, and his feelings both run deep and heavily impact him and his actions. On one hand, his smile is sincere and a good mood can brighten the room. On another hand, you will typically know if he is angry or disgusted towards something, and it usually doesn't end well in such cases. He hopes to feel safe enough to wear his heart on his sleeve, even if it's shown through his actions rather than his expressions. Something must be resolved to remove said flaw and restore "Emotional" to its original state.] Repressed: Zerrus's memories and emotions are failing. Something is wrong, and yet he can't recall. Near fully masked emotionally, his innate feelings are seldom seen. While said feelings may occasionally escape through the eyes, it appears that emotions such as anger and fear are the ones that remain more noticeably expressive...while others seldom manage to appear on his face. If you manage to catch him alone, you may find him appearing to be suffering from something, assuming he doesn't notice you and try to mask back up.
