Past the entrance to the city, with flickering lantern lighting up the night markets. The slight bustle of NPCs and players alike shifting about the floor, buying their wares, keeping company with their raiding parties and partners. Partners... A glance to Scar. He asked if her goodbye meant forever, and Alinta wasn't sure she could answer him. Not properly. She'd like to say it wasn't. That she wanted to see him again but here was that deep seeded uncertainty within her. The voice that kept telling her no, to pull back, and that all this, as nice as it was - was fleeting at best. So despite her wanting to reassure him all Alinta could do was flash Scar a half-hearted smile. He returned her action with a squeeze of her hand, a brush of his thumb. It felt reassuring. 

Almost like it wasn't final.

"A very long time huh?" A final squeeze of his hand before she pulled hers away. "Careful Scar, keep saying things like that and I might start to believe you." And that, was a very dangerous thing for Alinta. She wasn't ready for something like that. She knew her shortcomings. Obsessive, compulsive, flippant, and terribly afraid of losing her life. It wasn't a fit for someone as strong as Scar. He'd say those words now, but he'd grow stronger. Find a companions, maybe even a guild. The time they'd spend together would grow less and less, till she was nothing more than a fond memory.

Alinta turned to the teleport gate, stepping onto it ready to go 'home' but paused when he called out to her. A glance over his shoulder. "I'm always just a message away Scar. I'm sure you'll find something great. No storms, no bandits. I'll hold you to that. K?" And with that, she had disappeared - whisked back to the safety of the first floor.

She couldn't say goodbye to him.

That would be too hard.
