Rue took the piece of meat handed to her by the NPC and put it in her inventory and thought of the wolf she would find to be her. She knew there was a rare black wolf, dark as midnight that could practically be invisible in darkness. This was the wolf she wanted. It would be the alpha wolf that would help her lead.
