[SP-F1] Time for Some Experimentation Combat

Tyrius stood roughly forty meters from the lone wolf, examining the area around it for any and all signs of enemies. Knowing this was his first real combat situation, he reminded himself that this could depend completely chance, and that he could very well die in this battle. Tyrius began to circle around behind the beast, hoping that it had some sort of line of sight detection that would allow him to sneak up on it.

After he had made it to his desired location, he drew his sword and began to slowly advance towards the wolf, hoping that his sneak attack plan would succeed. About five feet from his foe, the wolf turned towards Tyrius, it's mouth set in a snarl. Tyrius lunged forwards, attempting to hit the creature, but missed, finding himself directly in front of the beast.

Having stood it's ground as the player attacked and missed, the wolf proceeded to rapidly step towards it's target, and successfully manages to land a bite attack on him.

Feeling the wolves teeth sink into his arm, Tyrius pushed it away and ran in once again for another attack, knowing that he had to win this battle quickly.

 

• Rolled a 6 on the d10 (battle) dice.

This time successfully slashing across it's face and dealing more damage to the wolf than it had done to him, Tyrius backstepped so as to prepare for the next attack.

The wolf snarled in protest as the blade tore through it's virtual body but, instead of turning and running, leaped through the air, intending to land on Tyrius and claw him. Missing, though, and landing directly besides him.

Desperate to weaken the wolf, Tyrius slashed at the wolf.

Rolled a 10 on the d10 (battle) dice

Scoring a critical and dealing a massive amount of damage to the wolf (4). Jumping over the wolf, Tyrius stood at the ready, expecting an attack.

Staggering back in shock, the wolf noticed that it's HP was immensely low, but decided to keep fighting. Attacking the human, and noticing that the human had failed to successfully dodge, the wolf did a standard amount of damage and sat down, ready for the incoming attack.

• Rolled a 9 on the d10 (battle) dice.

Tyrius ran towards the canine, swinging in a wide arc and, cleaving it's virtual face in two, ended it's life in a shower of crystalline objects that sparkled beautifully. Tyrius nodded his head, turned around, and began a steady jog towards the Starting City, excited to have fought his first real battle.
