[SP-F1] Wonderland (Complete)

Air walked around the Town of Beginnings, she was far more than excited to be in such a wonderland. She knew that as soon as she put on Nerve Gear that it would be a new experience. A great one, that is. Air loved everything about it from the adorable small and simple towns to the beautiful skies and fields that occupied Sword Art Online. If only this were real... Air found herself wishing. The orchard she lived on was an amazing sight but the sights in SAO couldn't even compare to them. She was rather disappointed to find out she was stuck in a video game until she reached level 100 and even cried a little in the beginning with the rest of the shocked players but after regaining her strength, decided that maybe her fate wasn't so bad after all. It was only now that she was going to try and leave the safe zone but first Air needed a friend or two. She leaned against a tree, watching groups go in and out of town, and played with the black bow in her green hair. Upon entering Sword Art Online Air had picked white hair and red eyes, but when she peered at the mirror, turned into her blue-eyed green-haired self again. Air is wearing a blue unitard, basic white chest plate armor she received from the beginning, white gloves, knee-high blue boots, and a low-hanging white skirt. A shadow cast itself over her face. I guess I'm not the most approachable person ever. Air stood up, feeling more confident, and equipped her rapier. "I'll just head out by myself. As if I need anybody to protect me, they'll probably abandon me anyway." Air told herself and began to walk out of the safe-zone into the large, almost never-ending fields to find monsters to hunt.

It was early afternoon and the sun was high in the sky, its rays shining down on everything in sight. The warmth touched Air's skin perfectly. Not too hot, and not too cold. Even in late December Aincrad was still the perfect temperature as always. Air loved this and confidently made her way away from town and kept a grip on her sword with one hand ready to fight. It was her first time since the crisis started that she was going to head outside. Air didn't like to fight but luckily this was just a video game and the only people that were real were the players trapped inside. She admired the one-handed rapier she'd picked out for starting the game. The handle was simply black and the long steel blade when positioned correctly reflected the sun's light. It's beautiful. She thought while her dark blue eyes stared at the weapon in its holster held on her waist. The holster was made of brown leather and hung loosely on Air's slim, small waist but was far from slipping off. Air took the black bow in her hair and twirled it again. She was now just at the beginning of the fields. It was quite the sight. She was standing on a hill and in the distance many other hills and seemingly never-end grassy regions outstretched further than the eye could see. Forests were planted neatly behind the fields and hills but were so far away they seemed blurry. The sky was a light blue and the wind blew gently. Air breathed in and out before starting to walk again. "Today seems like a good day to start."

She found a lizard roaming by itself in no time. Why do I have to love animals so much? She asked herself remembering living on the orchard and loving any and all animals that she found or that came to her and they seemed to love her right back. Air hoped familiars and Beast Taming would be introduced to the Sword Art Online system soon as promised in the manual. She swore that she would become a Beast Tamer and pick the animal she loved the most, make it her familiar, and protect it with her life. Air sighed and unsheathed her rapier. These animals aren't real, they're predators. She told herself and took a few practice swings to get used to the feeling of using a melee weapon. Of course it fit perfectly in her hand and swung so easily and quickly it didn't even seem real. Air had to remind herself that this was a video game. A white blur followed the blade's every move and Air held it to her side as she snuck towards the lizard that luckily didn't notice her at first. Air got as close as possible before taking a wide and long swing with her left arm; being that Air was left-handed.

The black scaly lizard popped its head around and startled Air causing her swing to miss by a few inches because she jumped. Air was face-to-face with the lizard who had beady red eyes that stared right back at her own dark blue orbs. She screamed and fell back, dropping her rapier to the side, now on her butt and leaning back in terror. It hissed and flashed its razor sharp teeth and bit where her legs weren't covered. Air quickly grabbed her rapier and rolled back up onto her feet. Luckily in SAO nothing hurt, and if it did it didn't hurt much. "Alright lizard. I usually prefer to be peaceful but not this time." She growled but was disappointed in having to kill the poor creature even if it did attack her. What she had said about being peaceful was completely true. Too bad animals can't just sit and talk out the problem with you.

Air held her rapier tightly and focused on her enemy. Concentration was the key, being focused really helped in combat. Air tried her best and glared at the lizard who was completely still and in front of her. She waited a second before swing, and even though the lizard still hadn't moved, she missed. Air took a few steps back and jumped when the enemy lunged at her as she was now ready for a counter-attack. It missed as well and the lizard's red eyes flickered with annoyance. I feel the same way. Air thought, rolled her eyes, and stood in defense stance preparing to swipe at the lizard yet another time.

The lizard was first to attack. Air almost fell back again when it lunged towards her but managed to keep her balance. The lizard landed a blow on her side and crawled back to her spot. Far more concentrated and a bit more determined to win the fight, Air focused her blue eyes on the enemy and swung forward once again in hopes that his time her swing was accurate. Accurate it was because she effectively sliced the lizard exactly in half and it exploded into crystal shards.

A smirk made its way to Air's face when she finally defeated the lizard. Even though it was her first fight she was still kind of scared and extremely exhausted. A screen popped up in front of Air's face.

(Air was level 1 so 5 HP and 3 HP is more than half of that. The floor is 1 so 1x2=2, she qualifies for loot)

 

She smiled and apparently received a weapon. It was nice, that's for sure. Air pressed her finger tip to the blue circle and turned on her heel, ready to head to an inn. But first she took a piece of bread and drink of water from her inventory; a well needed break. Air made her way back to Floor 1.
