(SP-F2) Existance of a Player

Recommended Posts

Arekkusu sat up high in the hills once again, this time he felt musical. He hadn't seen Aura for quite a while, nor has he seen Splash. He invited them both to a somewhat concert-like area for him to perform for them for free. Maybe they had some things that he could hear, maybe tell some good stories and maybe grab a bite to eat. Even with Npcs, there are friends and feeling among them all.

His Violin was unzipped from his inventory as Arekkusu decided he wanted to practice a good tune or two before their arrival. The sad thing for him was, he could've had a successful life if the game didn't trap him... then again, sometimes you can have all the money in the world and still have nothing in the end. Besides, what did he want? To be liked? He was liked by many as well as hated by many. He has done many things in the game that obtained many things, both good and bad, and that's what developed Arekkusu.

He remembered how he obtained Col from two players who seemed willing to help Arekkusu. They actually gave him Col and made him feel better while he was slowly breaking down. Then there was the lady that went missing, she shut him down completely and made him feel worse when he screwed up. If she went missing, she hasn't leveled up, and Arekkusu would love to slice her face with his sword, just to make her feel the pain he felt. He never heard about her dying, and he definitely would've heard it. He was kind of relieved though, arrogance wasn't needed in Sword Art Online... correction, arrogance doesn't need to be added.

Then there was Yuji, who Arekkusu saw as a mentor. He obtained Arekkusus first blade in the game, which really brought him far into the game, way farther than Arekkusu could imagine himself going without Yuji to help him. If it weren't for Yuji, Arekkusu would've had to teach himself how to play the game, and that probably would've ended in a train wreck. Basically, Yuji is the reason why Arekkusu has become so experienced with Sword Art Online. Because of him, Arekkusu learned not only how to fight, but he developed social skills as well. Yuji was a player of honesty, which really got to Arekkusu. Not only that, but he allied with Arekkusu when no one else would, Arekkusu now stands tall with Yuji, and when Yuji asks for help, Arekkusu will jump at the moment's notice of helping his friend, not hesitating to lend the strength of his blade.

He had to recognize another player as well who helped him in the game, even if they don't really talk much. He might've died without her help. The first time he mat Celes was in the cave, who appeared to be lost. At this time, Arekkusu was still half annoying and somewhat ignored her. As he fought, he realized that he couldn't do the battles in the cave without her. He and Celes departed for quite a while until they had two reunions, one positive, one straight up screwed up that Arekkusu didn't even know that something like it could happen. It turned out that Celes was defending a somewhat of a friend to Arekkusu, in which Arekkusu referred to as Unyie. He had only a little faith and trust in Unyie, but in Arekkusus eyes, it was just default trust, due to the fact that he lives in an inn that Unyie owns. So it is a little but awkward when he walks in and sees her at the counter. It turned out that an old guild leader of Arekkusus was the attacker. Argumail, in which Arekkusu only saw his good side while he was a level 2 player, but now that he was experienced, he saw the evil in Argumail. Arekkusu left the guild when he was warned about the intentions of the leader and possibly his guild, and Arekkusu decides  to keep that person's name anonymous, but he wouldn't forget. Soon, many players joined in the fight and Arekkusu was split once he heard of a man on Argumails side, in which Arekkusu needed to talk to him about a problem. But it turned out that Arekkusu didn't need him. When Arekkusu left the scene, over the hill he walked and turned back, saying that when he said Arekkusu and Celes would see each other again, that he didn't plan for it to be like this. He never saw her again after that moment, once again, they really don't talk too much.

Then there was Daeron. They never really talked too much, the last time he saw Daeron was when Arekkusu was in a duel against Kiru, in which Arekkusu had won. The time they talked was really out of threat, while Arekkusu was a level 6 player and Macgrath was a level 7 player. Arekkusu didn't kill anyone on that day, but he fought off 4 player killers threatening Macgrath. Soon, later, Macgrath actually killed 3 of them, surprising Arekkusu and almost got him to yell at Macgrath. They turned out to be apprentices of Daeron, which didn't please Daeron as he actually confronted both Macgrath and Arekkusu, trying to get them into a total loss duel. Daeron wanted to bring the stakes of what Macgrath and Arekkusu did, but there was only one problem. Arekkusu killed no one, Daeron wanted to kill them both. Arekkusu kept silent about it though, Macgrath tried to talk back and threaten, which put all of the pressure off of Arekkusu and onto Macgrath. Macgrath received a bounty and went missing after that. Arekkusu forgot about Daeron until he later sent Arekkusu a friend request, in which Arekkusu accepted. They haven't seen each other any other time than those two times. And it would probably be best if it stayed that way.

Later on, he met Crozeph, who may be older than Arekkusu for a whole generation, but Arekkusu saw him like an apprentice. Now that Crozeph became much stronger, Arekkusu feels so proud for what he made Crozeph... even if he didn't like his overdrinking. Those days, Arekkusu has to drag him to somewhere safe, not that Crozeph was all that heavy. But he was a good person to Arekkusu. They tend to travel alone when they need to talk about something, whether it was as small as a meal or something as important as a girl. They trust each other with their lives, though they may have different styles in just about everything, they plan to stick to each other in the end. He was one of the players that helped Arekkusu in the fight against the Metal Player Eliminator, an obsession of Arekkusu's.

Arekkusu later found his girlfriend while training another new player. On that day, he had met two other apprentices and teamed up with Claim once more to help the new ones learn. One of the apprentices he later showed a bit of affection towards when she broke down, begging her to raise her blade once more to the enemies, refusing to let her die like that. He didn't know that he liked her so much at that time, he never actually truly loved at that moment. It was until they were alone where they let their feelings go for each other.

Soon, he found Tom, and now his twin brother, Sousuke. Sousuke was the one that Arekkusu once was a guild with as well as Kitty. Sousuke and Arekkusu then got along pretty well pretty quickly, meeting in a group of when Sousuke was just smoking and Arekkusu ended up being like parent. That was when Sousuke met his girlfriend, Manta, before they were together. They ended up in the same guild and soon love blossomed between the two. When Arekkusu talked to Sousuke, Sousuke said Arekkusu would be the best man in their wedding, which shows that their friendship was stronger than diamond itself. They talk to each other and just about say everything to each other, their trust so high and tension so low. Arekkusu tends to see Sousuke as a brother, even if the age difference didn't show it. Sousuke was another player who aided his strength against the Metal Player Eliminator. In fact, it was Sousuke who landed the final hit in that fight.

Kiru then appeared in the picture, though Arekkusu pretty much dislikes her but not hate her, he still sometimes felt pity for her. They met on the 9th floor, and it wasn't a pretty start when these two met. When they bumped into each other, Arekkusu received a cut to his arm in the dark, it was nighttime, in which no player can see without night vision, neither of them had that skill. Both of them so tired and lost, forced themselves to become a party, in which ended up being a comedic dysfunctional dual. It was only a matter of time before they actually started swinging at each other. That was until they found Tristan, who seemed to have known Kiru long before Arekkusu did, and Kiru always did act awkward around him. Arekkusu ignored it however and continued on, eventually with the group finding the town, in which they all left with a comedic exit each. Later on, they actually did start swinging at each other in a half-loss duel, in which some people were there to spectate, but none interfered with it. The duel was a lot harder than Arekkusu expected it to be, but Kiru also underestimated him and Arekkusu got in some decent blows. In the end, with 1 strike left each, Arekkusu was the victor in the duel, a result that just about nobody expected, yet it did happen. Currently, they both actually use each others full names now out of respect, even if they still don't really like each other. Kiru plans to level up a bit more, promising that the next time they duel, Arekkusu will be put down. But they still look out for each other, a story of two stubborn rivals, not that it is a good story.

Then there was Manta herself. Arekkusu met her once, after that he only heard rumors and saw the sight of her and Sousuke together in a way that literally made Arekkusu drop. The way they met was when Arekkusu was observing a player who really was stubborn to the core, just looking down on others. Manta helped him with the boars that the man couldn't hit and hit one on her first shot. Her appearance was a little bit ditzy until she then proved to everyone that she could fight. That was when Crozeph then came in with a boar chasing him, then him chasing the boar. Arekkusu didn't like the chances of the boar attacking and killing Crozeph, or at least hurting him, so Arekkusu went down and with 1 hit, killed the boar. When more came, Sousuke arrived to assist them all, in which Arekkusu noticed that Manta had a slight interest in Sousuke. Arekkusu was invited to go with them once the party disbanded for just the three of them to talk, he refused, using the fact that they were in the same guild as a reason for them to be left alone. Later on, a few days later, he witnessed their first kiss, spat out his drink with a spittake, then fell backwards down a hill.

Arekkusu then highlighted Pyro, who turned out to be a cheerful player, which was something Arekkusu needed at the moment he met her. It was while he was in a party that her met her, alongside Sousuke and... well, that memory is fogged up in Arekkusus mind.  She was a shy girl, and she made an awkward appearance, but regardless, everyone tried to help her and tell her it was ok. She was then cheered up and the group partied, running away from the night into the inns, in which Sousuke offered to pay. Arekkusu was delighted until he received a disturbing PM from his brother, who was stabbed three times by Seeka on his hip before  he fell. Arekkusu thought he was dead and left the party to grieve, but later on, he saw Pyro once more. In the battle against the Metal Player Eliminator, she had the worst time of them all, seeing a woman she cared about stabbed many times by the group, knowing that it was a fake, but the woman looked and acted so real. Pyro broke down, causing Arekkusu to grab her blade and defend her from the womans attack. If Pyro were to be hit by the woman, Pyro would've lost all sanity right there, and Arekkusu knew that, so Arekkusu decided to use his body as a shield so that risk wasn't in the way. He didn't stab the woman either out of mercy for Pyro. Arekkusu later on felt bad for the pain he caused in the group and walked away. Pyro was the last person he wanted to hear from, not that he hated her, he felt sorry for her, and her pain was caused by his actions. Pyro told Arekkusu in an attempt to cheer him up that she was all right and so was everyone else, but Arekkusu knew a lie when he heard one. To stop the conversation, he played along with what she said, but on the edge of his eyes, he saw her eyes hollow and disturbed, she wasn't all right, not even close to it. Arekkusu felt so guilty when he walked away seeing her face so... lost... It was sad to see, and Arekkusu felt that he owes her because of what he did.

Then there was Destiny. Destiny was first seen in the battle against the Metal Player Eliminator, in which she was one of the people the beast turned into. Arekkusu saw that she was one of the lucky ones to not be scanned during the fight, which was a good thing because he didn't need more players to be broken down. Arekkusu once again saw her in an awkward situation, in which she actually got him to admit that he commited indirect murder to someone that was insane and couldn't control herself. He swore he was fine, but inside, he was damaged to the core, and she was the first person he told it to, she was the one who asked him over and over, as if she were desperate to find out... so Arekkusu told her the story, which saddened him to the point in which he not only shed a tear, but he didn't wipe it off either. He was embracing the situation instead of hiding from it. Arekkusu notices that there seems to be a similarity in them that he couldn't quite identify. The closest he could come up with was one of his family members, but he wasn't going to point any fingers yet.

Then there was Sol. The fight against the Metal Player Eliminator was when Arekkusu met him, and Arekkusu doesn't remember any other time they had talked. He was one of the players Arekkusu felt bad for, this was because Sol was one of the unlucky players to be scanned, only for the scanning to result in a clone version of Destiny. This came as a major surprise to Arekkusu, making him wonder if Sol had feelings for Destiny. This didn't matter at that moment, and though Destiny and Sol argue a lot, they look adorable together, not that Arekkusu would admit that, he doesn't want a red hand mark on his right cheek, so he makes sure to shut up about it.

Arekkusu had many great memories of hanging out with his friends too, most of them comedic. There was the moment in which Crozeph passed out drunk and flopped in front of a non-drinking Arekkusu and a little bit drunk Sousuke, in which Crozeph had to be lifted. He remembered how Pyro was low on mats and Arekkusu gave her some, which only gave him a playful headlock and ruffled hair in the end of that exchange. He remembered how Kiru and Arekkusu were talking about how they would beat each other down so badly the next time they dueled, but in the end no grudges would be held anyways. Arekkusu remembered how he accidentally hit some wine and smashed the bottles on the ground, in which there was one lady who didn't support him, but actually rubbed salt on the wound. Arekkusu wouldn't mind pking her, after all, there was a quest to turn him back. But she wasn't worth the time.

He then remembered many painful times for him. The day Macgrath went missing, that was the true first one painful memory. Another one was when a player named Mari killed Tom out of mercy, and Arekkusu knew that it was out of mercy, but he knew that many players were mad at her for that. It;s not like that could be helped though, and it's not liked Arekkusu expected her to be phased by that. There was the moment in which Dan sent the death message, or what looked like one, which threw Arekkusu through a loop. Who knew what happened to his mother though... Dan told nothing to Arekkusu, possibly because Dan was still mad at her. Arekkusu remembered how he almost lost his life over and over from the Queen Quest to threatening bounties to guild threats to mental torture... over and over and over again. He remembered the face of Pyro when the person she cared about taunted her while being stabbed by everyone else, and her hollow eyes when Arekkusu looked back at her. He remembered the screams of Seeka when Arekkusu left her to die from the incoming wave of monsters, knowing that he was the reason why she was left to die. He felt like a monster when he remembered those things.
