[PP-F6] Pest Problems (Tyger)

Recommended Posts

As the two continued to make their way to the waterfall cave, Oske observed the scenery. In the distance, she could see quite a few bug mobs that were minding their own business. Oske was momentarily distracted. Her foot suddenly felt like it had stomped into mud or a decaying log. She looked down to see a strange pattern in the dirt with holes and mushed grossness. As she lifted her foot to see what the heck it was, a large wasp-looking bug shot out of the hole. Oske, immediately startled, cut out a large chunk of the bug's face.

The stinger of the bug gleamed, and Oske quickly said, "Careful, it looks dangerous...!"

The scenery within the waterfall cave was wonderful, and it almost took Tyger's breath away. However, that was impossible as she was practically hyperventilating with all the bugs around. She did her best to keep her cool, and thankfully, the bugs did the same. They minded their own business and kept to themselves well enough. However, When Oske disturbed a bug by stepping on what Tyger assumed was a nest, a wasp shot out towards Oske. It missed, and Oske hit, but that meant they were up against another one of the horrid, awful creatures. Brandishing her weapon, she snarled and charged forward, slicing a few new wounds into the wasp. She hit the wasp so hard, a breeze could be felt if you were standing close enough to the area of impact. The wasp's health dropped considerably.

"You okay?"

Oske smiled slightly, a little winded from her attack. She barely knew this person, but Tyger already seemed to care about her. Having new friends always made Oske happy, as cheesy as it sounded. "I'm great," Oske said. The wasp, now furious at Tyger for hitting it so hard, spun around and shot its stinger directly at her to promptly draw it back after it either hit or missed. Oske took this opportunity to slash through the bug's back, cutting off a few points of health but not nearly as much as Tyger did.

The wasp buzzed angrily in front of her, and Tyger controlled herself. The urge to run away kicking and screaming was strong, but the urge to squash the bug was even stronger. Raising her sword, Tyger prepared to retaliate, but missed on her swing. The wasp had moved as if it was about to sting her, causing the tank to flinch. Tyger clenched her teeth and controlled her gaze, keeping it on the wasp. She didn't want Oske thinking she was weak because she'd flinched at the bug. To be fair, the bug was fairly large, and if you thought the large bug was coming at you, you'd probably flinch too, but that wasn't the point.

Oske smirked slightly when Tyger flinched. It was clear that she did not enjoy fighting this wasp, and neither did Oske. The bug went to attack Tyger again, ready to launch its stinger out and stab her, however, Oske quickly cut through it's back again. It already had the bleed effect on it, so it was on its last legs (or wings, rather). Oske jumped back, glancing at Tyger. "One more hit!" she exclaimed. "You got this."

Tyger nodded, gritting her teeth as she faced the wasp. The crinkled hive that had been stomped upon by Oske seemed uncharacteristically small to hold such a large creature, but that wasn't the point.

"I don't like you very much right now."

It was unclear who Tyger was talking to, but when her critical hit resounded against the bee with a loud schwing the creature was downed and the loot dropped. However, with the sound of their fallen comrade, two more wasps buzzed angrily out of the hive.

"I'm tired of all these freaking bees in this freaking cave!"

Tyger whined, dodging the first stinger with ease. The second stinger was dodged as well, but only with a well placed dodge from Tyger. The bee drug itself across her shield (accidentally of course) but winced and buzzed angrily when it was damaged.

Oske, a little startled and hurt by Tyger’s words that may or may not have been directed at her, watched as two bees sprung from the nest. She gritted her teeth… stupid bees. She gripped her sword tight and charged at the bee that had already hit Tyger’s shield and damaged itself like an idiot. She swung her sword, slashing a huge gash out of the bee’s back.

“Man, these aren’t as hard as I thought they’d be,†she said with a smile.

The appearance of so many bees and bugs was starting to become somewhat of a natural thing now. Tyger was able to slice and dice at the insects without grimacing as much, if that was an accomplishment. "Yeah, this is getting easier as time passes." Tyger flashed a smile before turning her attention back to the bees. The first bee buzzed furiously towards Tyger, but was dodged rather effectively. However, the second bee read Tyger's movements and shoved it's stinger straight into her side, causing the ginger to gasp, surprised. The damage was mitigated, but the intent was there. Narrowing her eyes, Tyger sliced at the second bee once more, taking off a few more hit points of damage, and applying her bleed.

It seemed that Tyger had one of the bees down on it's last limbs. Oske originally had planned to widdle down the life of the bee that Tyger was fighting, as her tactic was usually to gang up on one and deal with the other later. However, both of the bees were attacking Tyger. She needed to give one of them a distraction.

With a slash of her sword, she heard a crack run through the bee’s spine. She then jumped back, ready for a hit.

"Wait, don't!"

Tyger gasped out, watching as Oske attacked the lone bee. Tyger gritted her teeth and faced the bee she currently faced, charging up an attack to unleash on the creature. She jumped at the wasp and slammed both her sword, refreshing the bleed effect. The bee crumpled in on itself before exploding into shards. However, before she could turn and attack the second one, Oske was being attacked. Tyger wished she hadn't attacked the lone one, because now Oske held aggro. And by the look of it, the bee had gotten a critical. Ouch.

Oske was hit rather hard, and she gritted her teeth as Tyger told her to not attack. Perhaps she didn't know that Oske could take care of herself? Either way, she liked that someone cared about her safety. She slashed down again to attack the bee that had just attacked her. She smiled slightly at Tyger, then said, "Don't worry, I can take care of myself. You're welcome to help me and take the loot, but I can take a few hits."

When Oske reaffirmed her own safety, Tyger nodded and chastised herself. She couldn't go around treating people like they weren't capable of anything. Instead, she needed to just trust Oske. It just frustrated her that the damage could've been avoided, but it was no matter now. What was done was done. Instead, Tyger needed to focus on the now. If Tyger hit, she'd bring the bee down even more, which was what they needed.

"Alright. Sorry, force of habit."

Tyger took up her sword and shield and ran forward, slicing at the giant insect with her sword. It connected, and the creature buzzed angrily and shot at Oske. Tyger bit back a yelp, and let Oske deal with it. The bee missed, thankfully, so Tyger wouldn't sweat it.

Oske winced for impact as the bee went to attack her, lifting up her shield, but the bee missed miserably anyway. She narrowed her eyes, then spun her wrist around to loosen her muscles a little. She then leaped forward, stabbing into the bee's chest. She then twisted her sword slightly to open up a slight gash in its hard exoskeleton. She pulled back, ready for another hit.

While the bee was preoccupied with Oske's spinning maneuver, Tyger crouched and readied herself to attack the bee. Oske had already done quite the number on it's chest, so Tyger decided to follow up with a slash to the side. Her sword ripped down the body of the bee, and when it turned to retaliate, feeling the most pain from Tyger, it struck her shield and exploded.

"Huh. Well that was rather prompt.."

She murmured, grinning over at Oske.

"Awesome! We got 'em both," Oske said with a smile. She peered in the distance, where a waterfall was a few feet ahead. Inside the cave beneath it would be a cave with rock monsters that dropped nice materials for blacksmiths. "Alrighty. It's just up ahead... let's go."

As the two began to walk, Oske decided to make conversation. "So... what floor did little Icarus come from? I'm assuming floor nine, based on his appearance. He really is quite a cutie, hehe~"

As she walked, she was careful to watch the ground for wasp nests.

Tyger sheathed her sword when she was assured it was safe, and put her shield over her back. She liked to keep it there, because all she'd have to do was reach back and pull her arm towards her to protect herself should a surprise attack come along. Well, if she needed the sword? Ah, just outta luck. Oske had a plan for where they'd head, so Tyger dutifully followed, listening out for any other mobs. Oh, and watching for those stupid nests.

Icarus? "Yeah, he's from Floor 9. Such a cutie, I just had to bring him home with me. The whole shedding coal dust thing annoys Baldur, but once you get used to it, it's super cute. Aren't you just the cutest little thing...~

At this point, Tyger was holding Icarus out in front of her, rubbing her nose against his until he planted a few slobbery licks on her face. She closed her mouth quickly to avoid any spit.

"Mhmm," Oske said with a smile and a nod. "My daughter was thinking about getting a familiar from that floor. Something about 'flaming death.' She likes to be edgy sometimes, haha..."

Oske shrugged, then noticed they were just by the cave. It was hidden behind the waterfall, but getting wet could be easily avoided if a player were to press up to the side and walk slowly into the cave. The smell of moss and... something strangely dirty was up ahead. She could also hear a soft 'plip' sound behind the waterfall's roar. "Rock based monsters like golems should start spawning in there--no more bugs!"

She seemed a little happy about that.

"I'm really, totally, honestly fine with no bugs."

Tyger snickered, and gave Icarus a scratch. The soot from his body got on her fingers, but she just wiped it off on her hip.

"I'll take big earthy, angry mobs any day."

They didn't have creepy ass legs and beady eyes and... ugh, spiders. They weren't spiders. They were the worst. Tyger just wouldn't fight. Tyger would run away, no joke. As if on cue, a rocky groan filled the air as the stone walls beside them 'moved.' It was actually the back of a golem that was turning to face them, stony eyes void of emotion.

"Wahey! This is better than bugs."

As she said that, the golem reached out a stony hand to slap against her shield, knocking her back quite a few feet into the cavern wall.

"I'm okay..."

She groaned from the rubble, standing up to dust herself off before charging at the beast. However, she hit her head, and temporarily got dizzy, missing her swing all together.

"Wait... Now i'm okay."

Oske gritted her teeth. It seemed Tyger was taking some damage now, despite the player's cocky disposition. She jumped on top of the rocky creature's back, slamming her sword into its... spine? Neck area? Back? Oske pondered the anatomy and body parts of a rock. Her mind wandered to human anatomy.

Crap. I got distracted. She jumped back and pulled out her blade, watching the read line form on the creature's back.
