[PP-F1] Morning, Keep the Streets Empty For Me...

Recommended Posts

Night descended quite quickly in Sword Art Online. The Darkness cloak all of the virtual world and only for the light that radiated from the nearby towns, there was not much of it. For most, the settling of the sun meant a few hours of rest. For Freya it meant a chance to travel undisturbed and without no worries of being stopped by Players seeking a fight. Of course, there was always that impending danger of running into any beasts or monsters, yet the silver hair female could care less about such a thing.

Beasts could be easily killed, but real humans...That was another matter. She didn't want her own conscience bothered by the face of some unknown innocent. Her mind was already too preoccupied by the face of her own brother. Daemon.

Pale violet eyes watered at the thought of him, while a shuddering cold breath exhaled soft lips and followed with a silent prayer.

'Morning, keep the streets empty for me...' The soft voice whispered over and over silently, while delicate hands clutch a small blade. Under her disguise the female looked more boyish. Her rounded figure covered by the large dark cloak, while her face was hidden by the hood that kept her long hair in its place.

A pair of glimmering lights could be seen in the midst of the dank and eerie night. Slowly, they were getting closer and closer to Freya while a faint crunching beat resonated through the plains, before suddenly disappearing in the utter darkness. There was no wind blowing that day, though a few seconds later, a sudden wind blew near Freya, tussling her hair abruptly while those two glimmering lights appeared once more, but this time under the shape of two light-blue eyes.

"Strange color." was the line that struck the wolf's mind, as he smugly passed by her whilst hurling towards her a piercing view, fixating on her pale violet eyes. His jet-black attire made him almost seem invisible within the darkness, though those leather boots which he was wearing gave his presence away. Ren's mind was a bit baffled, as his eyebrows were furrowed, he was cleary thinking about something.

As the moon shone brightly, a terrifying howl echoed through the plains, a howl so fierce that even the mountains started shivering, indicating that a pack of wolves were nearby.

The faint crunching beat woke Freya from her trance, making her gaze moved quickly through the deserted roads and plains. Pale violet eyes focused on the bright small orbits that came her way. Her heartbeat accelerated quickly as her gripped on the blade became stronger; one lash she could make if need be, but after that all would be lost. The plains had been still since the moment she had started her journey to the next safe town. Yet, in that precise moment a gust of wind blew her hood back and tussled her silver hair, pressing her hands down to keep her silver skirts in place while holding on to the dagger, Freya turned back to look and found no one there.

Making a the dark figure out in the dark, Freya gritted her teeth and bared them almost like wolf would in defense. She had no fangs but her sharp piercing scream, perhaps could draw someone to her help. Hiding the dagger behind her cloaked back, the silver hair woman took a step back as she finally met those electric blue eyes.

"What do you want?" She called out, her tone wavering with fear while her body buzzed with adrenaline. All of her bravado was a bluff, for when the howls of the wolves broke out the girl jumped in terror. The light of the moon bringing the silver hair of the stranger and making hers radiant in the darkness.

Her question surprised Ren, forcing him to arch those furrowed eyebrows of him in a fascinating manner. Her boyish desguise managed to mislead the strayed wolf at first sight, but her silvery hair and wavering tone betrayed her, as he now realized that a woman was lingering inside that dark cloak. His eyes were now glancing upon her hand, which slightly hinted him that she was hiding something, though his calm and analytical nature helped him overlook the act. Slowly cocking his head against those pale eyes of her, he muttered lowly "Prayers won't help you here, lady." towards Freya with a dark and sombre voice.

Ren's listening ability hinted him that a group of three people were nearby, though he kept his calm whilst misleading those who were hindden behind the trees. "I have no business with you." he added before slowly walking past her. The cunning wolf knew that they were waiting for the right time, thus he didn't want to hinder their plans, at least not for now.

Not even a minute passed since the wolf left, as they were already heading towards Freya. Upon a closer inspection one could notice the well-known orange cursor, which indicated that they were Player Killers. Looting and other kind of shameless activities lingered inside their head as they were now slowly walking towards her. Even though he left the impression of leaving, Ren was still lurking within the vicinity, waiting for the event to occur beneath his eyes whilst standing at a relatively short distance, in order to intervene if needed.

Even if her heart was galloping inside her chest, her large bosom moving quickly with sharp even breaths and the grip on her blade tremble, Freya couldn't tear her gaze away from him. His hair was the same silvery color as her own, something that slightly made her remember her older brother. Yet, he didn't look anything like Daemon. His body was full of muscles and there seemed to be an edge of danger even in his stance.

Catching the sombre tone of his words, she kept her mouth close and bit the sarcastic reply that was at the edge of her tongue. She had no need to goad this stranger. No need to get in his bad side. After all, one scared wasn't enough to even try to swing the blade at him. Not that she wouldn't even hit. Watching him silently, she stepped out of his way as quickly as she could while her head turned to follow his figure in the dark with her night vision.

"I wonder what is wrong with him," She muttered to herself quietly, before turning to continue her route. The stranger had disappeared as quickly as he had appeared, yet when she was about to continue her way the orange cursors were the first to alert her of the trouble coming her way.

They descended upon her as quick as the AI wolves. Taunting her with remarks and threats.

"Oi, you are one pretty girl. Perhaps, if you give us what we want we wont take you and slit your throat," One of the hooded players remark, provoking laughter from the others and grunts. Freya could turned to look at them all like the frighten animal she felt, her dagger hidden but of not use then. Not when she felt too scared to even summon the fake bravado she had shown to the silver hair stranger.

A gust of wind blew once more, but this time Ren was facing those three Player Killers. His hand was already clenched upon his handle, thus he quickly unsheathed Muramasa whilst a screeching sound resonated around the sheet as the metal grinding itself against the hard wood. The blade was crying for blood just like the strayed wolf which wielded it, therefore without further ado he lunged himself towards the loudmouthed one, thrusting his sword straight within his shoulder, forcing the man to kneel.

"I don't see you slitting any throats soon, my dear fellow." the wolf muttered with a dull and dark tone whilst twisting his katana, causing further pain towards the man. "I have followed you friend, since I've heard your conversation at the bar, bragging about how much col you've made last night." he added before placing his right foot upon the man's shoulder whilst hauling back his sword back. Using his momentum the wolf forced the man against the ground, as the tip of the blade was now just above his jugular.

"I'm sorry... but I shall place you now within a everlasting slumber." were the wolf's last words before he applied pressure upon his blade, piercing it all the way down within the ground, ending whatever life he may have had left as the body slowly started disintegrating in pixels, leaving nothing more then Ren's sword behind. Cracking and popping noises started ringing as the wolf snapped his head sideways, as the sword was pulled once more before he dashed towards the other two remaining players, though this time it took lesser time.

The cursor which lingered above Ren's head slowly started changing, gaining a similar orangish color as those before him. With a graceful and swift gesture he dragged his sword against the wooden sheath, recreating the same screeching sound before carefully holstering it back. The wolf clapped his paws a few times, giving the impression that his job was now finished as he slowly started turning against Freya. "I am sorry for my early behaviour, but I couldn't state my business as those so called men were following you. Also... I want to apologize for the fact that I've used you as a bait, though I'm willing to return the favor. Please, tell me. What do you wish, gear or col?" the wolf inquired the lady in front of him.

Everything happened so fast, that Freya could only stare at the scene before her. Before the silver hair male came out of nowhere, one of her assailants lunged at her and was quickly stopped by the glinting blade of the katana. The other watched with surprised and fear as their leader was taken down so quickly and before their eyes. The girls mouth stayed open for the longest of time. Shiera was unable to find the strength at closing it, let alone saying a word to the man.

Pale violet eyes watch the green cursor turn orange. A terrible sign for any player, seeing as this was one of the real monsters inside the world. Monsters that traveled the game and weren't locked inside a room. A shuddering breath left her, causing Freya's knees to trembled in fear and adrenaline. The bodies of her assailants disappeared in pixels and there was a storm of feelings brewing inside of her then.

Dragging her gaze to his face, she finally got a good look at who he was, not that she dared to even tell him anything. She wasn't so stupid as to want such a fate. Tears stung her eyes and although she felt scared, she still registered his words. Feeling too cold for her own good, she did what she would have done if her brother had been there.

Shiera ran into his arms and let out a loud sob, while her arms circled the Silver hair stranger's back. Hugging him tight she pushed her face into his chest as she finally let go of her feelings. No longer scare for her life.

"Than-thank you." The girl sobbed, before looking up to meet his pale eyes. " I will be the one to repay you." She cried out, her tone grateful at having him save her, even if now he was a Player Killer.

His shirt was now getting soggy by those watery eyes of her. As she managed to clench upon the strayed wolf, his eyes widen while his mind got utterly baffled by the unexpected occurrence. Despite his cold nature, he couldn't be heartless to such a graceful person, thus in that moment he gently patted the girl upon her back.

As she gazed towards him, Ren noticed that there were a few similarities between then. She had the same hair color, and those violet eyes of hers were pale, just as his own. Slowly he cocked his head downward whilst placing his eyes against hers before letting out a lowly mutter "Your welcome." with a dull tone, as those eyebrows of his quickly arched.

Her innocent behaviour made it hard for him to refuse her, thus he snorted once before letting out a hacking cough, that might catch her attention. Not even a second latter, a few words slipped Ren's lips "Sure, what do you have in mind?" while his tone was a bit dull.

She pressed herself tighter to him, sniffling and trying to get a hold of herself. She bet that she looked like a weakling, but in all truth-she was. She wouldn't have survive those players. She wouldn't have fought them. Too scared of losing her life like her brother had, Shiera anchored herself to this new stranger-because he was the only one who had saved her. The only one who had seen her weakest side.

Taking control of her emotions, Shiera wiped away her tears and gulped away the sobs that still made her body shake. Nodding her head at his words, she took a step back and turned towards the city. If she continued on her own, there was so much she could do, but if she had him by her side... Shiera turned to smile to him, her eyes turning a darker purple with interest.

She was worried by the cough, but that wasn't one of her important worries. Not yet. Pointing at the far away town, she offered her other hand at him.

"Take me there and you shall receive, what ever you ask of me." She said, seductively though she highly doubt that she'd look beautiful after that cry.

As he felt her warm body pressing against his chest, Ren released a most luxurious sigh, releasing the tension which he had upon those heavy shoulders of him. Her reaction pleased the wolf, though he couldn't yet stray from his path, as it was a bit too early for him.

When her pink ivory lips took the shape of a smile, Ren got a little bit nervous inside, hurling towards her a similar smile, though his was a bit croocked. After he barely escaped himself from getting caught within those mesmerising eyes of hers, by gazing towards the city, he accepted her escorting offer whilst taking off his right hand glove, clenching her frail hand, a bit hard but unintentionally.

He gulped hardly while hearing her seductive tone which released a quivering sensation beneath his skin, though without further ado he continues walking towards the village.

A few moments later they were standing beneath the towering entrence. Ren turned his head against hers whilst speaking with a calm tone "There's no need to repay me back, fair lady. The only thing that I wish from you, is to be safe." before taking his leave.
