Is survival possible in this godforsaken death game?

» History:

Jia doesn’t even recall his own past of hardships. Actually born in a rather poor family, it was still a happy one. If he could remember, his mother and father were very caring and supportive even though he was albino, which was an oddity. The real decline began when he began to attend primary school. The family needed money, and the only place to get that would be through loans. Considering the poor credit of the family, banks would not lend out enough. Loan sharks were the only remaining option. Foreseeably, it was a terrible move to take, but Jia’s parents didn’t know any better. They took the money and forgot about the ridiculous interest rate. The loan sharks soon came calling to take back the money they lent and then some, the family driven apart by that one fatal stake. Debt. Whatever happened to mom and pop, Jia would never know. He forgot about home one day in the third grade and wound up on the streets temporarily. Japan was a kind enough place to him, and he was referred to the right authorities and placed up for adoption. It wasn’t too difficult for him to be adopted into another family, where he was quite happy for a time. It was during the sixth grade that he realized his loss of memories and became distant for that fact. On a random whim, he bought the system required to play the new game of Sword Art Online and was lucky enough to actually purchase a copy. Entering the game, he never expected the risks involved.

» Personality:

Around others in society, Jia seems perfectly normal without a single hint of a problem. Caring, enlightening, and amazing, all of this is fake and carefully constructed. Over the years, the shell of fake emotions was produced in order to cause himself and others less pain, although he'd forget the pain inflicted sometime in the future. In reality, Jia is disconnected from others, and can't find a way to empathize or understand properly how being social really works. He's actually a boy that has many frustrations on a daily basis and is not right of mind at nearly every given moment. It is definite that once the outer shell of fake smiles and friendliness cracks, Jia will begin to stick out like a sore thumb.

» Virtues:

Supportive
A trait of his that does indeed exist, it rarely surfaces due to his own circumstances. It is known that when he does take the role of a supportive person to help another in need, Jia does so with the fullest capability he can muster. Making the best of situations, it isn’t that hard with positive reflections and burst of inspiring words. Sugar coating definitely needs to be involved in order to lighten the mood, but on closer examination, not much of the real facts are twisted.

Levelheaded
Surprisingly, he possesses a very high degree of calmness and sensibility almost all the time, which is an unusual occurrence at his current age. Under great stress and pressure that would usually break those of weaker constitution, Jia makes it through without losing composure. Rarely has he ever been known to break down, and even fewer were there times when he lost composure in the slightest. It is hard to say how long this remains as the duration of the game lengthens.

Perceptive
Jia seems to have insight though most of it is kept personal as digging around within the minds of others is not something to be taken lightly. Due to his own personality, he understands the underlying message of others through body language, along with the word choice and tone of voice while speaking. He is not able to pinpoint the exact meaning most of the time, as unspoken language is harder to distinguish.

» Flaws:

Anti-social
Quiet and introverted, Jia is not the most outspoken individual. He chooses to be alone rather than in groups and does not interact actively with others. Groupwork was always not out of choice, but necessity, be it his own realization, or the urging of others. It’s quite known that when he does speak, it is only to respond to questions with a blunt and dull “yes†or “noâ€, nothing more.

Selfish
As much as he would hate to admit it, he would hate to deny it as well. Jia is undoubtedly a very selfish person, although not out of malicious intent. It is actually a deeply rooted rationale that places himself above others in terms of need, which results in his accidental loss of reputation, trust, and friends when a pressing situation presents itself. In Aincrad, it would not be a surprise to see him get someone close killed some time in the future.

Dementia
Memory loss is still an affliction that plagues him, even in the game. Starting from something he doesn’t even remember, the memories that are farther back vanish slowly and without warning, simple obvious things that should be known nonexistent within his mind, as the memories no longer took their space. Jia has grown used to his unfortunate disorder and is well aware that many of his memories are fabrications of his own mind, which attempts to fill the void of blanks. His biggest fear is losing himself entirely before the game is cleared.

Bloodlust
An extra factor that may make or break him entirely, bloodlust is a dangerous thing to be prodding at, especially if a death game is in progress. Jia doesn’t know how or why he has this trait, he only knows that he should be careful when the blood rushes through his ears because when that happens, the world changes entirely. It wouldn’t be inaccurate to say that his humanity is robbed, and this is why he’s always so careful and alert to prevent himself from falling to such a level. Losing sight of everything, including his own health, would be less than beneficial.
