About: History/personality

Alexis has always been a timid one. Perhaps it was the name, maybe his small stature; whatever the case he shied away from others, often having difficulty expressing himself. He'd stutter and stumble his way through conversation, avoid eye contact at every opportunity, and shy away at the slightest touch. His features have always been soft and a bit on the feminine side which he felt was a curse from parents who wished too hard for a daughter. Growing up he often managed to hide away in the background. Some would approach at first, those drawn to his girlish features or simply those who were too friendly for their own good. They never stuck around long; it is difficult to converse with someone who won't even look in your direction as they softly murmur one-word responses.

Alexis was never lonely though, not truly. Would he occasionally long for a touch of friendship here and there? Of course, but he was never truly bothered by a lack thereof. He was more than happy to escape into other outlets, novels and games being amongst the most common. Rough day at school? Hard day of work? Nothing a fantastical adventure couldn't help. He would find that even online games were a wonderful diversion, his demure nature being pushed aside by one simple thought. One little lie he could tell himself as he played amongst an array of virtual characters, those he would never truly have to meet face to face.

"Well, it's not like these are real people. Not really."

 

Needless to say, when a VRMMO was announced he leapt at it.

Flaws:

• Timid: Alexis is, quite simply, shy. Too shy for his own good. He has difficulty with basic human interaction and can't hold an actual conversation for the life of him. This makes him hard to deal with and sometimes leaves others with the wrong impression. His refusal to meet someone's gaze and mumbling habits have lead to quite a few misunderstandings. It's not that he's rude, looking down on others, or anything like that. He just doesn't know how to properly communicate.
• Spineless/Meek: The boy has no backbone. He can't stand up for himself, he can't speak out against others, and he certainly can't deal with confrontation. He can't handle issues with others and is more than likely to flee at the first chance. On the occasions in his life where bullying turned violent and someone would step in for him, he was quick to abandon his would-savior and turn tail. As others learned to stop trying to help, he would be left on his own. When problems arose, he would turn submissive. He'd obediently follow the orders of his tormentors until either they grew tired of making a fool of him or he saw his chance to escape.
• Absentminded: Alexis had a love of the fantastical. Knights, magic, monsters, and heroics would often occupy his mind. He was always quick to drift off into his own headspace, entirely unaware of the goings-on around him. Whether this was in class or typing away at work, it came often and has caused trouble for him on more than one occasion.
