Appearance

Shin was a slender but also brawny young man. Although he was already 19 he looked younger with his tender face and bright blue eyes. His blond and spiky hair made little contrast to his light complexion. Some time ago his was well know on the internet for his dance, and free running/parcour videos. To be able to do this properly he had to gain strong but not big muscles and to be very agile. He loved wearing cloths, which show of his figure and had encouraging and blithesome colors. But after an accident he damaged his lower spine and wasn't able to move his legs properly anymore. He had start using a wheelchair and wasn't himself sinc that accident. He changed his clothing style to a dark shade and tried to cover every body part of himself. With black gloves and a black cape-like coat he looked like a shadow. His black hood covered his face most of the time because he was ashamed. Many people knew him from his videos and he didn't want them to recognize him. He was still training his body to maintain his figure but he disappeared from the internet because he was so ashamed of his disability.

Personality

After his accident his personality changed drastically. He had been a very active, joyful and open minded person. Now however he had retreated into himself. He wasn't able to look into the mirror anymore. He saw his dreams his future shatter like glass. He could never achieve anymore what he wanted he would now be a burden to everyone. He feared what other people would think of him in his wheelchair and stopped to communicate with his old friend. Slowly he got depressive. Then there was the miracle. The Game SAO was released. He couldn’t believe it. It was like he was able to put his dream back together. As he entered the world he was able to walk, to run, to jump again. However his old personality never truly returned. He stayed withdrawn but got a bitjoyful again.

» Virtues:

. Agility

Before the accident Agility was one of the most important parts of his Training for his hobbies. And his mind never forgot what he was able to do. As soon he was in SAO he needed only a few hours training to come back to his agility.

. Reflexes

Very important for free running. Not always went everything smoothly he learned to react to situations. To react if he was falling or something unexpected happened. I helped him a lot in avoiding attacks or traps although he was not trained in weapon use before.

. Instincts

If one of your most favorite things to do is to run across the world and use everything except the normal ways, you get an instinct for every possibility. You learn exactly what you can do and if there is danger you can evaluate it. You are able to know when you are going to do something stupid or just the only right thing(in Your opinion).

» Flaws:

. hyper-self-critical

With an inability you are treated differently and if you have not enough willpower you will change your view on many thing. This is something what happened to Shen. Even now in SAO he feels himself always not good enough for something. Even if he did something perfect, he was able to find one point where he was did make a little mistake. On one hand this is driving him pessimistic on the other hand it plays with many peoples' nerves.

. Shy

After his retreat into himself he wasn't able to open up to someone anymore. In SAO he approaches people but he is not able to fully trust them to tell them about himself. He has a constant fear of being pushed away, that he sometimes pushed other people away himself. He also is not able to talk about his feelings very well.

. Pessimistic

â€The world is only black and tomorrow it can only be worse.†First the accident where his dream shattered and now being trapped in a virtual world, bad luck. He will always be a little depressed and view the world from a pessimistic point of view.
