[SP-F2] Power Leveling - Complete

Recommended Posts

Hans arrived in the second floor's city of Urbus, shivering lightly from the sensation of teleporting. He still wasn't used to it, and he wasn't sure he ever would be. Giving a light shake of his head, he shoved his hands in his pockets and immediately strolled down towards the edge of the city. He had spent so much time in his store lately, he had really been slacking off on gaining experience and levels. He pulled up his menu as he walked, frowning as he viewed the "LVL 5" next to his name on the layout. He drew in a breath and let out a frustrated sigh, closing the menu quickly and trying to reach the gates as quickly as possible.

Hans absently fiddled with the handle of his dagger. He approached the gates of the second floor, stepping outside of the city and into the forested area ahead. He frowned, immediately unfamiliar with the area. He knew Emerath had been around here before, but Hans hadn’t bothered asking him for any map data. Besides, if he did it would be considered “cheating” or something. Hans shook his head to dismiss the thought and scanned the area ahead of him for something he could pick a fight with.

It didn't take long for Hans to spot a suitable-looking enemy in the distance. A lone wolf had its snout to the dirt and looked to be hunting. Surprisingly, there were no other mobs around, so the man drew his blade with a firm grip and twisted it around with a smooth motion, holding it angled with the blade along his arm. Darting forward, he wasted no time approaching the wolf, catching it off guard and landing a clean hit before the monster had time to react.

"Tch." He scoffed under his breath, watching as the wolf's HP ticked down by one point. The blue-haired man swiftly turned his blade in his hand, gripping it firmly the other way. The metal glowed a bright yellow as he lunged foward with two successive strikes. They both hit head on, piercing the wolf and rapidly dropping its HP to zero. the beast howled and burst into pixels, awarding him with a material and some col.

Hans sheathed his dagger at his belt, grinning in satisfaction at the easy kill. He didn't want to waste any time, so he continued on to search for another mob to hunt. As he passed by one of the many, many trees that surrounded him, he stopped short as he spotted something through his long messy bangs. A single fruit hung from one of the many branches. Grinning, he hopped up and snatched it before dropping it into his inventory.

Hans figured he'd wait just a little longer for the rest of his energy to refill. He looked around lazily, hoping to find another material he could grab, but nothing presented itself. With a shrug, he scanned the dense forest searching for another mob to fight. Not far off, in between the trees, he spotted a medium-sized bear roaming around. Pulling out his blade again, he gripped it tightly and approached the monster carefully.

Hans rushed the bear, swiftly approaching and lunging at the monster with his dagger in hand. He attempted a large swipe across its side, but the bear reacted quickly and backed up to its hind legs, towering over him. He stopped short, taken aback and his mouth hung open in a frown. With a light shake of his head, he tightened his grip on his weapon and prepared for another attack.

Hans' blade glowed a bright yellow as he readied an attack, activating a sword art. He lunged forward, delivering two quick strikes to the bear and its HP dropped significantly. His lips curled up into a grin and as the bear came down he easily sidestepped the beast's claws. The monster roared in anger, and Hans shifted his weight, bouncing lightly on the balls of his feet, smirking as he turned the blade with a light twist of his wrist, gripping it firmly and lifting his hand in front of his face. He brought the blade across his body, holding steady as he waited for the creature's next move.

Hans bobbed lightly up and down, eager for the next clash. His eyes analyzed the situation carefully, coming up with predictions for the bear's movement, where his attack would strike, and where it would be left the weakest. The bear dug at the ground with its sharp claws before charging at the man. He quickly hopped to the side and prepared a counterattack, but the bear's weight shifted unexpectedly, catching him off guard. The monster lunged and collided with Hans, knocking him off balance. His back made contact with a large tree to keep him from falling over completely, but he growled under his breath at the unsuccessful attack. The bear had lost its balance in the haphazard clash as well, stumbling before it picked itself up and turned back towards him, roaring defiantly.

Hans pushed himself off the base of a large tree, shrugging the hit off with a frown. He rubbed the back of his hand on the edge of his mouth before bringing his dagger forward and twisting his fingers to quickly move the blade. Maintaining a firm grasp of the dagger's handle, he gave it one final twirl before crouching lower to the ground and breaking out in a sudden run. The bear had turned to face him again, growling loudly as it lifted up its paw to swipe at him. Hans ducked down, extending his right leg and sliding against the ground to position himself under the animal. With a swift upward motion he landed his dagger into the bear's stomach and brought the blade upwards, slicing cleanly. The monster's HP finally dropped to zero and it shattered into pixels, rewarding him with a crafting material.

Hans relaxed his body for a moment, still laying flat on the ground. His bangs had flipped upwards and fallen to the side of his face revealing bright yellow eyes that squinted at the rays of light seeping in from the breaks in the leaves above. He brought his right arm up, resting the back of his hand against his forehead. His dagger was still gripped firmly, the blade following along his right arm and the cool metal resting lightly against his skin. He drew in a breath before stopping short and his body tensing. He suddenly pushed himself to flip over, crouching on all fours as he looked around wildly. After a small moment of silence, he flinched and pushed himself off the ground, jumping up to his feet and stumbling backwards slightly at the clumsy landing. Where his body was a moment ago, a large snake slithered across the ground, leaning back and poising itself to strike again.

Hans couldn't help a small grin pulling at the corners of his lips. While the snake had initially surprised him, he had managed to maneuver himself quickly enough to put himself into an advantageous position. He lunged forward before the snake had time to react, slicing it across part of the snake's long body. He had only nicked it, dropping its HP by only one point. He frowned, but easily twisting his body to dodge the monster's counterattack, spinning around to face it again.

His expression turning into a grin once again, Hans pulled his dagger back and shifted his weight. The blade glowed a bright yellow as he activated a sword art. Darting forward, he lande two fast strikes on the viper's thin body, piercing bright red gashes over its scaley skin. The monster bared its fangs, attempting to strike back but falling short as Hans quickly dodged out of the way.

Hans smirked, hoping to finish the creature off with one more attack. He bounced lightly on the balls of his feet after that last dodge, watching the snake closely to predict its movements. It suddenly darted towards him, and he reacted quickly to move to the side and out of the viper's path. In the process, he somehow managed to fumble his landing and lose his balance, losing his opportunity to strike as well. He let out a light huff as he steadied himself, having to wait for the next clash.

Hans and the viper met again, this time the man attacked first. When the snake darted aside and escaped the blade's reach, it bared its fangs and moved quickly to bite Hans' outstretched arm. Luckily, he was able to move quickly enough to pull back and avoid the attack and the snake fell short, reeling back to regain its balance. Hans shifted his stance, starting to get annoyed with the lack of progress. They had been at a standstill for so long it was starting to get on his nerves.

Hans kept his blade back, preparing another sword art as his energy has just finished replenishing. His dagger glowed yellow and he quickly followed up with two quick strikes, tearing through the snake and finally dropping its health to zero. A dialogue popped up, awarding him with another material and some col, and he clicked a button to dismiss it with a grin. He stretched his arms over his head as the fight was finally over, dagger still in hand. He kicked the dirt below his feet lightly, unsure of what to do now. He still didn't want to call it a day yet, and his luck was going pretty well, at least so far.

Hans twirled the dagger in his hand with a smooth motion of his wrist. He continued through the forest with a lazy stance, scanning the trees and open areas for anything of interest. After a short while he spotted a group of smaller-looking flying creatures in a group. He frowned in thought, weighing his options before giving a light shrug. They looked low-level for this area, likely because they would aggro together if he attacked. Flipping his dagger around, he got within a close enough range and started activating a different sword art, Round Accel. He hadn't used any AoE abilities yet, and was eager to try them out. As the blade glowed brightly, he ran towards the group of monsters, swinging his blade around in a quick motion, slicing them down all at once. Pleasantly surprised with the outcome, Hans sheathed his dagger and tapped on the display to dismiss the loot notification. They only dropped materials, but he was fine with that.

Hans stretched his arms over his head, seeing that his energy was depleted. He figured he had better wait until he had enough to pull that off again, with how nicely it worked. Folding his hands behind his head, he started , making his way back to the main path that would guide him back to the city, hoping to avoid combat for now. Spotting something out of place near the base of a tree, Hans stopped a moment to pull a loose root that he vaguely recognized as a crafting ingredient.

Hans reached the dirt path after a couple minutes, his hands now sitting in his pockets as he wandered on. Off the side of the path he spotted another crafting material, this time an herb. Bending down to grab it, he grinned as he viewed the massive stash of loot he'd acquired so far. Quite pleased with his luck, he mulled over a couple of options as to who he'd be trading the materials off to later.

Hans shuffled along back in the direction of Urbus, deciding he had made enough of a profit to head home for the day. He scanned the area for any more materials he could pick up on his way, but since he was out of the forest it was much harder to spot anything of interest. With a shrug, he pulled up his inventory and scrolled through the various materials he acquired and tallied up his col. He was lucky to have made a bit of experience as well.

Entering the city once again, he let out a light sigh before looking around. He figured he might as well stop off at an inn or somewhere similar to relax before doing much else.
