Once again she was going on a quest with Manta. Except this time it was a very high level quest with a chance of death for both of them. Yay. But you did what you had to for skill points, and Ebony was confident that Manta could take the enemies out with her high damage high evasion build. According to Manta all Ebony had to do was hand out in the back and heal her if she needed it. She let out a sigh, standing by the first floor teleport and waiting for Manta.

Low level quests were becoming harder and harder to find. And Manta still didn't feel as though Ebony was at the level she needed to be to start soloing anything. It was the healing aspect. Ebony had plenty of skill points, but she'd invested the majority of them in the <<First Aid>> skill. That meant that she would forever be stuck fighting behind someone until she started investing in other, combat related skills. Still, Manta couldn't fault her. It was a very important calling, healing other people instead of fighting. It was quite generous of her to give up fame and glory for such a noble position.

Ebony continued to wait for Manta by the teleport, her thoughts running along similar lines. She had already made a decision on what to do next with her skill points. Although she really wanted to max out her health skill as soon as possible, she needed protection. Who knew when a mob would attack her instead of her partners, and it was always best to be prepared. She knew for a fact that some mobs had AOE attacks, so her new goal was to get the heavy armor skill up to rank two.

Manta approached the first floor teleport, noticing Ebony almost immediately. Ebony had a new clip in her hair, a black wooden rose or something similar. She wondered momentarily if it was a vanity item or a piece of equipment. "Hey Ebony. Are you ready to go?" She called out as she headed over to Ebony. Ebony certainly didn't look like the inexperienced player she had been when Manta had first met her.

Ebony looked up to see Manta. She looked well, but didn't seem to have changed much since their first meeting. "Hey Manta. Im all set. I have this new piece of equipment, it shoudl help with my healing." She glanced around and leaned in, as though telling a secret. "I made it myself." She whispered. She either had had tremendous luck in her crafting, or she was a natural, having already made three perfect items.

The rose certainly was beautifully crafted. What surprised Manta was the fact that Ebony had made it herself. When they had met, Ebony hadn't even had a profession, and by the looks of it the rose was a perfect item. Those were pretty rare in general, but even more so for players starting professions. "That's impressive." She said, not bothering to whisper. She didn't see the need to. "Anyways, you know the plan, right?" She asked.

She smiled as Manta said that it was impressive. She wasn't entirely sure why she had been whispering. Maybe because whispering made things sound more important? She looked up at Manta. "Of course I know the plan. You rush in and start swinging your sword. I hang back and heal you if you need it." She intoned in a completely flat bored voice. Manta was a bit overprotective at times, but she did understand the necessity of staying back for this quest.

Manta understood that she was frustrating Ebony a bit with her overprotectiveness, but she just didn't want to have to deal with anymore grief. It was kind of a selfish reason, but she couldn't help that. She ignored the tone in which Ebony said it though and started to walk out of the town towards the bandit camp. Who needed stealth when you had a sword? She grinned and unsheathed her rapier.

Ebony followed after Manta who had that grin on her face. It was the same grin Manta got every time Ebony watched her fight. She really must enjoy fighting. Ebony unsheathed her dagger, knowing that she was unlikely to attack in this quest. She would if she needed to, regardless of what Manta wanted. "You head in first and get the hate. Then I'll pop in behind you and heal you. With your evasion I doubt you'll get hit though." She said, sporting a smirk. In all the time they had known each other Manta had never been hit by an attack.

Manta turned to Ebony as they approached the camp. "That's right. If I do get hit though, I'll definitely need your healing." She said before walking ahead into the center of the camp. "Come and get me!" She shouted out, grinning maniacally. She brandished her sword threateningly, and the four bandits came out of their tents, attacking as one when they saw Manta. She ducked under one attack, and side stepped another, activating <<Shooting Star>> as she did so, sending powerful slash into one of the bandits chests. He burst into blue crystals as she retreated a bit.

Ebony watched as Manta walked in calmly before challenging the enemies. Instead of performing an AOE attack like they had decided on before they went on the quest, Manta instead went straight for what Ebony suspected her most powerful sword skill was, cutting one of them down in one strike while dodging their blows. As Ebony had though, Manta would likely need no help in this fight at all.

Manta continued to effortlessly dodge the blows, looking for an opening. The bandits had tightened their defense after one of them had been killed, but no defense was impenetrable. After a couple of moments she saw it. She moved in and activated her strongest skill, <<Penetrate>>, and sent four stabs into the bandits chest before diving back out of the way of the other two bandits strikes. Now she'd have to dodge for a bit to get her energy back up.

Ebony watches as Manta dispatched another bandit with ease. Manta was doing fine, but it looked like her energy reserves were deplete a bit. She would likely need another couple of moments to regenerate enough to take another one out. Ebony sighed at her own stupidity. Yolo. She ran into the fight, landing two slices on one of the bandits. "Take as much time as you need Manta!" She called out. She would prove that she didn't need to be babied.

Manta watched as Ebony charged in. Se sighed, but wasn't upset. To tell the truth she had been expecting this sort of thing, and with two of the enemies already dead, it was save enough, at least for the moment. Even with Ebony's attack, the bandits were fully focused on Manta. She continued to dodge, not attacking for the time being. She needed her energy to unleash another powerful sword skill.

Ebony retreated quickly. She had given Manta enough time to regenerate the energy she needed, at least for the moment. She liked fighting, but she had no desire to get hit. She was already pushing her luck as it stood. She retreated to a safe distance, paying attention to Manta's health bar. She needed to pay attention so that she would know when MAnta needed healing. She could only hope that her healing would work when she needed it to.

Manta continued to avoid attacking, even after Ebony retreated. She needed all of the energy she could muster. One bandit swung his sword at her head, and she ducked down underneath it, as the other bandit swung at her feet. She pushed up with her feet, hanging parallel in the air for the second required to dodge them both. She landed on the ground, on one foot and one hand, and she quickly stood back up, her sword at the ready.

Ebony watched as Manta continued to dodge their attacks, not fighting back. Ebony was confident in Manta's ability to dodge, but it was only a matter of time until they hit her. Not that they were strong enough to kill her. Manta could probably take four or five hits from them. In fact, Ebony was hoping that Manta would get hit. That way she could show off the healing skills she had worked so hard to earn.

Manta twirled out of the way of the first bandits next blow, and used the momentum from her dodge to activate <<Shooting Star>> again. She sliced her blade through the air, the ivory blade of her rapier glowing white as the system guided her blade into one of the bandit's chest. The bandit exploded into blue and green crystals, and MAnta dodged a blow from the remaining bandit. "Feel free to join in Ebony. They aren't too dangerous on their own." She called out.

Ebony wasn't planning on rejoining the fight, just because she didn't want to annoy/worry Manta. When Manta invited her to join back in she didn't argue. She loved fighting. She ran forwards, activating a sword skill and sending two slashes at the bandit. Her strikes didn't do much damage, but at least they were doing something. Ebony guessed that Manta was just going to use normal attack and gradually wear the bandits health down.
