[SP-F1] Learning to Fight COMPLETE

I decided that while I waited for my new gear I couldn't just sit around and do nothing. I passed through the town looking at all the players at the shops and the merchants trying to sell their goods. I overheard from a group of people that the best place to start would be hunting boar on the grasslands outside of town so I left the mass of Humanity and made my way to the green fields up ahead.

As I left the town and the stone beneath my feet began to turn to dirt and soft grass I let out a small sigh. Even in this virtual world the feeling of grass beneath me gave me a feeling of relaxation. I focused my mind once more on the task at hand. "I need to get the hang of this game if I want to stand a chance here in this world. I saw a Boar in the distance and began to make my way toward it. As I walked my way Toward the boar I thought it a good idea to look around to see if there would be anything that could help me kill this boar but sadly all I found were little rocks, too small to be of any use. I made my way closer to the Boar and I couldn't help but start to grin. This is what I've been waiting for.A chance for adventure.

I draw my sword and run into battle to fight the boar " ahh yeah my first fight!" I yell as I swing down with my curved blade dodging the large tusk of the angry boar. my blade connects with the boar's side and lets out a deep grunt as it turns it's head toward me trying to hit me with it's tusk. I easily sidestep the boar and catch my breath getting ready for another strike."ha take that you swine!" I start laughing to myself as i see the red pixalated cut that my blade left on the side of the boar. this is a lot more intense than I thought. This is a lot more involved than a few analog sticks and a set of buttons. if I'm not careful i could get real hurt and that wouldn't be good.

I get ready for another attack and come at the boar from the left side. My blade makes a long arc and collides with the boars tusk. He deflects the blow and I miss as its tusk cuts into my side. I see a red gash form and My heart starts to beat quickly. "See You need to be more careful and focus" Looking down at the wound in my side I feel strange. My cloth shirt agape and the pixels in the wound shining back at me. I back up from the boar and look at it dead on. I got this. I can do this.

I take hold of my curved blade with both hands and jump up in the air and come down at the boar from the side. As my feet landed on the ground my blade found it's way into the backside of the boar's neck. The curve of my blade cut along the boar leaving a large red cut followed by a sharp squeal from the boar. The next thing I know the boar explodes into thousands of pixels and a loot window pops up in front of me. " okay Twenty col isn't much but this will work for me. I tap the accept button and am now 20 col richer.

As I leave where I fought my first battle I decided to catch my breath while my health went up. I heard that it regens out of combat. I looked up at the left of the HUD in front of me and saw my hp ride back to four. " there we go that will do nicely." I look around for another boar and see a few up ahead further into the field. Not wanting to face the group of two to my left since I don't think I can handle that yet I decide to avoid the group of them and make my way right toward the lone bull up ahead.

Realizing I had some sp to spend and Knowing more skills can only help I opened up my menu and navigated to the skills. I scrolled through the items until i came to the weapon skill " one handed curved Sword" I selected it and poured five points into it to bring me up to rank 1. "Okay that sounds like a plan. So now I can do one extra damage. Lets test this out." I said as I closed my menu. excited to try out the effects of this skill I ran up to the boar I was heading toward and excited I ran into combat.

As I run into combat the curve of my blade swings through the air and comes down on the boar. A long slash forms on its back and I jump over it landing behind the boar with sword readied for another attack. The boar turns around angry charges at me and I had just enough time to back out of the way unharmed. I got this With my blade doing more damage all I need is one more hit and this boar is dust. I looked above the boar to see its health bar fall down to half. "lets finish this little piggy"

With the boar's back to me i decided to make a fast attack to its rear before it could get the chance to attack again. Unfortunately as I ran up to attack I lost my footing stutter stepping  to the side of the boar to meet its big ugly tusk cutting deep into my arm. After the boar's attack I finish mine bringing the blade down  in a large arc colliding with the boar. It fell down to the ground dead and then burst into pixels. " See this is much easier with the blade skill" I said  to myself as another loot window opened in front of me. " awesome 20 more col." I took the loot and continued on my hunting trip thankful that I am starting to get a handle on the fighting mechanics of this game.

Giving some time for my health to come back up from that tusk that ripped my arm I kept walking through this large field looking for more boar that I can test my skills on and gather more col. I was making my way up a hill when I saw a boar up ahead that I decided was my next target. With sword in hand I made my way to the top of the hill and planned the best way to approach this. Head on of course. I thought to myself as I walked closer to the boar readying my blade for battle. As I got closer the boar caught sight of me and started to run at me.

The boar's advance on me was well seen and I was able to swing down my blade in time to deflect off his blow with the side of my sword. The boar's tusk met my sword and the two of us got pushed back from the impact. Yet sadly I did no damage. "I need to attack from the side of it so his tusks don't get in the way." I said as the boar turned and got ready to run at me once again. I ran to the side of it out of its line of sight so I could run at it from the side. " Let's waste this boar" I said to myself mentally preparing myself to do some damage.

As I was distracting myself with my mental babble the boar charged and hit me knocking me off my feet. "Dang it I need to focus." I said as I got up and Swung ath the boar. my blade made a small arch but once again came down and hit the tusk doing no damage. I backed away leaving some room between me and the boar so I could have some space to plan a attack. " I need to stop missing and hit this swine already." I said angry looking at its full health bar  green as can be taunting me floating above the boar.

I stood there looking at the boar's health and knew I couldn't let it get the best of me. I took a deep breath and ran at the boar. I held my blade low as to get under the boar as I came at it head on it swung for me with its hard tusks and fueled with my intent I side stepped in a darting motion evading the boar. I brought My curved blade upward in an arc and hit the boar in tis underbelly. Grinning as the boars health fell to half I pulled my blade out and readied myself for another attack. A large gash was in the Boars stomach and I knew I needed one more hit to waste this pig.

I pulled my blade back and swung down with it but the boar moved out of the way in time for me to miss. My hand still new to this sword needs more practice to get better at fighting. The boar tries to hit me but I as well am able to jump out of the way of harm. I look at the boar and decide to back up a bit to put some space between us. I need to go at him like last time I hit him. I prepared myself for a running start so I could catch the boar off guard again and get past its defenses. I raised my sword above me and took off.

As I run at the boar apparently he had the same Idea. We get to close too fast for me to successfully make an attack and I jump over him making him miss as well. I turn around to face the back of the swine and hold my sword with both hands. " I need to get better at this or I'm not going to be able to make it here. I need to stop missing this stupid pig. it can't be that hard. I decided to try a different strategy.  Let the boar come to me. I stood my ground and readied myself for his attack.

As the Boar charged at me I readied blade. Right when the boar was about to hit my blade swung a large arc hitting the deranged pig right in the face splitting its head in two. as I attacked i was hit in the gut by the boar an a large hole formed in my belly. "Wow" I said as I saw my hp bar drop to one. Thankful that the boar burst into pixels I sat down to catch my breath as a loot window popped up giving me twenty more col for my troubles. " That was a close one I think I'm gonna call it a day for boar hunting and head back to town."

I got up onto my feet catching my breath and started to make my way back to town. Taking a few deep breaths I focused on the feeling of the grass beneath me and kept calm as I walked to town. I tried but failed to take my attention away from the red stub of a health bar that floated in my HUD. That was way too close for comfort. I thought as i watched it slowly crawl back up to yellow and then green showing that it was at full health again " Yeah I definitly need more gear that's for sure. Lets get something that will raise my defense"

Getting a little hungry I stopped halfway from town and sat down on a nice ol' rock. I looked in my inventory and pulled out a piece of bread. I took a bite of it and thought to myself about how weird it is that I could taste it. " aren't I just in a game? this bread actually tastes pretty good." I looked around me and surprised myself by admitting that it did look and feel real around here. I opened my menu and Looked at where the logout button was supposed to be. " I'm not giving up any time soon. There is only two ways out and I wont die so we need to beat this damn game."

I finished my bread and got back up to finish my trip back home it was starting to get a little dark so I just followed the lights of the town making sure to steer clear of mobs. I didn't feel like having any more fights until my gear was upgraded. My sword is kinda basic but at least I can do two damage with it. I don't have any armor and that can be a big problem. also I heard that if I go to an artificer I may be able to find a necklace or something that can raise my stats. That would be kinda awesome. Also that would let me grind to the higher levels faster.

Getting closer to town I began to hear the chatter of People coming from within. I find it funny how there are so many things to do around here. I entered town and then realized that I didn't have a place to stay for the night and my heart sank a little. I listened to people talking and overheard that there was an Inn nearby. I hope they don't charge that much. at least i have a little col to my name. I walked through the streets trying to find this inn. I hope I can get there soon I'm getting tired.
