{PP-F9} Two Sides, One Lord -Floofy and Myself-

Recommended Posts

Floor nine.  The floor was a volcanic floor, covered with mountains, magma, ash and obsidian.  The heat was extreme but it didn't bother Domarus whatsoever.  He was wearing his hopebreaker armor but did not have his ax equipped.  Instead he had the LD item equipped so that he could gather materials while the two fought.  The last time the two were here, they were hunting down Domarus' familiar.  Rhozarth didn't care much but Porvós was more active than usual, happy to see his homeland again.  Keres stood there not in her maid's outfit, but some makeshift armor he had found.  It was good quality so it had no enhancements, but it would be enough for her to parry a blow or two if need be.  And it wouldn't slow her movements down as much as her maid's outfit would have.  Keres was allowed to choose the outfit but he had to wonder why she'd choose this piece.  Perhaps it was to mess with Sakoda and perhaps she was just being tactful.  Perhaps both.  He didn't know.  For now however she stood there in her armor with a knife sheathed on her hip.  She had a huge grin on her face which made it clear that she was very excited for this.  Domarus had sent Sakoda a message telling her the floor and to bring gear suitable for extreme heats and rocky grounds along with his coordinates.  Now the two were waiting patiently for her to arrive.  Domarus' eyes scanned the area as he thought about this.  He had an idea of how he wanted to start this.  Thus he turned to Keres and nodded, watching her make her way into the shadows and vanish from sight.  Porvós did not follow and started to Explore the place.

Sakoda walked through the teleporter than took her to Floor 9. Looking around, she was amazed at the stark difference from the other floors she had been to. The volcanic landscape was barren and lifeless, a pretty good place for a sparring duel.  She continued to the meeting area, seeing Domarus waiting for her. Frowning in confusion, she thought the plan was for her to fight Keres. Maybe she hadn't shown up yet? An unlikely chance, considering the girl was always by Domarus' side. Perhaps she was nearby, looking for more materials. Whatever the circumstance was, Sakoda knew that the girl would show up eventually. Hopefully she had a little bit more control of her emotions now, though. She needed to show Domarus that she had control during combat. That she wouldn't let outside forces distract her from her target or objective. Yes, she had a lot to prove today, but she was determined to succeed in her demonstration!

Keres was excited for this fight.  She wondered where Sakoda ranged on the pathetic combat skills meter.  She clearly wasn't good at all from the fight with the dark elf.  She sat in the darkness waiting for Sakoda to appear in view.  She pulled out her dagger and played with it a little bit.  She didn't have much, but Domarus had her learn the basics of self defense in the real world just in case.  Regardless of what happened, unless Sakoda was able to pull something off most likely Keres would take her down, whether by knocking her health down to half over time, or by forcing her to submit.  She nearly giggled when she imagined Sakoda's extremely shocked and embarrassed face when she won.  Then she heard movement and looked up, watching as Sakoda approached the designated area.  She didn't seem to have spoken to him nor acknowledged him as she approached.  Tsk.  How arrogant of her.  Keres would be enjoying this fight all the more with that thought in mind.  While waiting for Domarus to speak to sakoda she decided to look around for materials.  However, as was to be expected, she would find no such material.

Domarus heard movement and turned to see what was approaching.  Sakoda.  The player appeared to be frowning, no doubt because Keres was absent.  Or at least this was what she believed.  Domarus had set this up so he could talk to Sakoda before Keres and her dueled.  Keres wanted to reveal herself only when the duel started.  While Domarus could guess her reasons he'd rather just watch the scene play out.
"Sakoda.  I wish to speak with you before you begin your duel with Keres.  When you're ready I'll call it out and you and her will duel."  He waited until she had approached him and given him her full attention.
"First things first.  If you think you can master your emotions swiftly just because you're determined, you will be sorely disappointed.  Nothing is mastered in a short amount of time, and Keres enjoys messing with other people's emotions.  I will be observing what emotions will spark and how you currently handle them.  There is nothing that you can do that I cannot stop at your current strength, skill, or level.  Regardless of that fact I will only intervene if you might actually land a fatal blow to Keres.  You two will do a half loss duel and both of you have minimal output of damage so there should be no possible way for that to happen.  Finally Sakoda.  After this I shall decide how I will conduct your training.  All of it depends on what I see here and now, do you understand?  So think twice about what you choose to say or do.  And don't you dare try doing what you think I want.  Do what you would do, only think about it first."  Domarus spotted four more materials and inserted them into his Inventory.  They had no idea what materials could be gathered on this floor for Keres so right now he'd gather materials for his own shop, not her experiments.

Sakoda nodded in understanding "Yessir, I understand. Er... speaking of Keres, where is she? I thought she would be here with you, but I haven't seen her around. Did you send her to gather more minerals while you waited or something? And what will she be fighting with... actually, never mind. I won't always know what weapon my opponent is using, so I should get used to being able to adapt." Sakoda smiled. It felt satisfying to be able to think strategically, even if it was just a tiny bit. "Anyways, I think I'm ready to face Keres." She told Domarus, pulling out her spear. Taking a deep breath, she focused on the duel to come. She couldn't let herself get distracted. She needed to maintain focus on the fight, although that will be harder done than said, given that she would be fighting Keres. Her nearly random infatuation with the masochistic servant would be a huge hurdle to get over if she were to prove anything to Domarus.

"OK, I'm ready."

Keres listened to Domarus talking to Sakoda the way he did and grinned.  She knew the only reason he cared about her safety was her usefulness, and it would look horrible on him if Keres died in his service.  It was all a game to him after all.  However she didn't mind.  She enjoyed pain so as long as she got to serve him and be punished by him severely she was fine with it.  Then Sakoda had asked where she was and a few more other things.  Keres watched with a grin as the player pulled out her spear.  When she mentioned how she was ready that was when Keres emerged from the darkness.
"Oh you're ready are you?"  she said with a smirk.

As she walked she swayed her hips and held herself high.  There was a mischievous glint in her eyes as she approached Sakoda.  Oh how she wanted to see that red appear on her face, oh so desperately.  If she saw her face light up red she'd know this duel was going to be sooooooo muuuuuch fun.  As she approached she pulled out the dagger.  The blade itself was no longer than her hand but she didn't care about it.  It could be a sewing needle for all she cared.  She'd deal the same damage either way.  Nobody believed daggers were lethal.  But with Keres' incredible skills they were more than deadly.  She opened her menu about halfway to Sakoda and sent the half health duel challenge her way.

Domarus nodded when Sakoda told him that she understood.
"Good.  As for Keres she'll be here in a second.  Simply prepare yourself for combat at any moment."  Domarus walked over to a place he could sit down and did so, preparing to watch the duel unfold.  Domarus hadn't actually seen Keres fight before so it would be interesting for him to see as well.  While he did bring her to someone who taught her self defense, he had not seen her train with the dagger in this world.  He knew she had been training with it, however knowing she trained with it, and not seeing the training were two entirely different things.  Of course she did not put any experience into the weapon skill.  She didn't have much experience points to do anything with really.  She allowed Domarus to receive the experience not here.  Sakoda told Domarus that she was ready for Keres.  At this Rhozarth flew over to the cliffside and sat on the edge, his ever judgmental gaze on the two women.  Domarus watched as Keres emerged from the shadows, arching an eyebrow at her approach.  However he could see what Keres was doing with it.  The entrance was one that would mess with emotions regardless, but Sakoda mentioned that she was in love for Keres for reasons beyond his understanding, and hers apparently.  So this action was bound to have some reaction from Sakoda.  While the two women approached one another, Porvós was out seeking materials he could gather for Domarus and Keres.  Unfortunately for keres, he only found materials that Domarus could use and brought them back to him.  Noticing the materials, Domarus inserted them in his inventory before returning his attention to the duel that was about to commence.

Sakoda looked to Keres and blushed, but not near as much as when her emotions first rose. She's trying to toy with you.. she told herself, determined to keep from falling prey to Keres and her tactics. If she did, she could see herself laying across Keres' lap as she had her hair stroked, completely unable to keep control of herself. No, she wouldn't let Keres have her way! Spinning her spear around so it was pointed to Keres, she examined her opponent, taking note of the dagger that she held. That told her Keres would be focusing on getting close and staying agile. To get the upper hand, she would need to keep her distance and use her spears extended range to strike, keeping fluid motions as they battled. A misstep could give Keres an opening to get close where her spear use would be restricted. She took up her battle position, and realized that as she pondered her strategy, it kept her from thinking about Keres. She wasn't thinking about fighting the girl she liked, she was thinking about how to combat an opponent and their fighting style. Of course, in the midst of combat she wouldn't be able to think of long, drawn out plans to keep her mind occupied. She would need to figure something else out in order to stay focused. "I think the question, Keres, is are YOU ready?" She smirked in reply to her duel partner.

Keres watched with extreme satisfaction as Sakoda blushed.  However it was not nearly as good as she wanted it to be.  It appeared that Sakoda was going to attempt to steel herself, and over time she seemed to be losing the embarrassment altogether.  What she was doing and how she didn't know, but she'd find out and shove it aside.  She wanted to see the girl blush so hard tears started coming out.  Then she did something Keres didn't expect.  She smirked back.  However this didn't make Keres disappointed.  In fact her own smirk grew.
"Well well, the little kitty got a backbone at last."  She shot forward and leaped onto Sakoda's spear, crouching down and balanced perfectly on the shaft.  She booped the girl's nose and put her face only an inch away from hers.
"Let's see how well that stays love.  You ready to dance?"  With that she jumped over Sakoda's head and when she landed she was prepared to deflect any attack Sakoda might swing or thrust at her.  Knives weren't meant for blocking but for parrying.  That was obvious.  Keres really hoped she saw some more emotion after her little words.  This would be a boring fight if she was going to be as blank as a statue.

From what he was observing, Sakoda truly had been spending the last two days working on her emotions.  However this was just the surface he was observing.  More time, interactions and observations had to be made before he could decide on anything at all.  However he noticed something else about her.  Her face became more and more blank, as if she wasn't feeling any emotions at all.  He knew that face any day.  She was analyzing.  He leaned back and placed a hand to his chin as he thought.  So she was beginning to learn how to analyze and process through things on her own eh?  If that were the case she would be more valuable in combat.  However every other area he still needed to train her in.  Of course he had no way of knowing how good her powers of observation was until he saw it first hand, or at least the outcome of it.  She then challenged Keres with a smirk of her own and as he expected, Keres wasn't the least bit affected by it.  Instead it seemed to fuel her more.  He watched as Keres' nimble and lightweight body landed on the spear shaft and heard her words.  More that were designed to drag a blush out of Sakoda, or just irritate her emotions in any way possible.  It was how Keres did things.  If she had the chance then she would do everything she could to mess with emotions.  The physical contact and closeness was a nice touch too he had to add.  Porvós scouted the area some more and stumbled across four more materials suited for Domarus.  Truly this was a very lucky day.  Or perhaps it meant he'd have many failures.

Sakoda had expected Keres to make the first move. What she didn't expect was what came after. Instead of trying to land a blow on her, Keres had landed on her spear and booped her nose, causing her to blink in surprise. This moment of confusion caught her off guard, allowing her emotions to flare up again, turning her face bright red with blush. "H-Hey! This is a duel, not some goofy d-dance!!" Sakoda spat out, trying to quickly retort to Keres' comments so it didn't appear to affect her. Of course, this backfired with how she responded, as her voice cracked and she was pretty sure she had squeaked halfway through her sentence, as well as the poor comeback that she delivered. She knew that many people saw fighting as an estranged way to dance, even calling it 'the dance of swords' or something to those lines. But she needed to focus again, Keres had too easily broken her barriers, and she couldn't allow that to happen again. No, this time she would be prepared for anything Keres did!!

Keres was greatly rewarded for her efforts by Sakoda reacting in total surprise and lighting up red, all of her previous control over her emotions evaporating into thin air.  Keres smirked in pleasure before she had jumped.  Ah now this was the feeling!  She was able to openly mess with someone once more!  This was one of the few reasons she lived now.  Sakoda's attempt to make Keres believe she didn't care ended up helping fuel Keres' passion three times over.  Hearing her voice crack was good but when she heard the squeak she nearly had a giggling fit with anticipation.  Sakoda seemed to be rather slow as she hadn't turned around to view her yet, so Keres took advantage of this.  Whether or not Sakoda turned around, Keres would pick up a small stone and throw it at her face, the run up and make an attempt to slide underneath her.  If it worked she'd give Sakoda a little nick on the ankle.  Unless Sakoda deliberately turned her pain dampener off she would feel nothing.  Nothing but failure that is.

It wasn't really a big surprise to Domarus when Sakoda reacted the way she did.  Physical contact, closeness, and those particular choice of words would be enough to send anyone red faced, regardless of what emotion or emotions were being fueled in that instant.  The words Sakoda used as well as the manner in which she portrayed them was rather pathetic and as clear as the air itself.  Granted that the air on this floor had ash and soot flying through it nearly twenty four seven but the metaphor itself was solid.  Keres' next action was rather an intelligent one as she had used a ranged object to distract her by throwing it directly at her face while she took an attack from below.  Sakoda would either get hit by surprise, which seemed to be the more likely in this scenario, or would need to block or deflect it in time, which he believed to be the less likely.  Meanwhile if the maneuver worked then Keres would land the first blow, dealing one piece of damage on Sakoda.  Most likely it would take a while before this duel ended as Sakoda had two hundred and forty health total.  Half of that was seventy so Keres would need to land seventy hits on her.  Keres herself was level three so her half health would be thirty.  However it was extremely unlikely that Sakoda would land a hit on her unless it was by luck.  Porvós scanned the area but wasn't spotting any materials anywhere.

She spun around in time to see a pebble hurling at her. She reacted by flicking it with her spear, shooting it back to Keres, who had started to make her move to slide underneath her. Sakoda realized that her opponent would be using tricking, back-stab tactics to attack her. "I've figured out your strategy, Keres!" She smirked, feeling confident. If she could keep tabs on Keres and what she was doing, she could predict her action and outplay her. That way, she wouldn't have to keep worrying on the distance between them, just predicting where Keres would move next and move accordingly.. It sounded more complicated, sure. But it would help her keep the upper hand in the duel. All she needed to do was watch how Keres moved, right? Spinning her spear so it was pointed to the ground, she lifted her free hand and beckoned to Keres tauntingly.

Keres was utterly shocked at Sakoda's fast reflexes.  She did not expect this girl to be decent at combat.  Still, she managed to drop her health by one point.  She shot to her feet and placed her hand on her hip, holding herself in a way that made her even more attractive.  "Well well, you really do have a backbone in there.  Now that I know you're not helpless," she smirked.  "I won't go easy on you."  She shot forward to Sakoda, changing her direction every every one to three seconds.  Keres had a tendency to be predictable, but today she had a plan.  That plan required Sakoda to become extremely focused on combat now however.  It wouldn't work unless Sakoda was extremely focused.  To be honest she wouldn't do it unless it was to mess with someone else.  When she neared Sakoda she would parry any attack the woman would send her way, slide her arm across Sakoda's, her dagger cutting along as well then leaped up, jumping off of her shoulders, did a flip and landed on the ground behind him.  Keres wondered if Sakoda could actually manage adapting to everything she threw at her.

At long last Domarus was beginning to see the start of some progress.  In truth he didn't expect her to learn how to fight so quickly and if she ended up being really good at it in such a short time, then it may very well turn out to be a problem.  Domarus couldn't have her moving too fast forward.  Certain areas yes, he'd much prefer it if she learned how to use logic every day, but there were many areas he did not need her to learn swiftly.  If she truly was learning swiftly then he would need to keep up with her and fast.  It truly was a twist in his plans.  Returning his attention to the battle itself, Keres wasn't bothered in the least by Sakoda's comment.  In fact she seemed rather pleased, showing herself off as she replied.  She then began to run swiftly at her.  Where she lacked in caring or physical strength, she made up for in acrobatics and speed.  When he saw Keres strike her but make no attempt to embarrass her, he had to think about why she would choose to do that.  Soon enough he came to the conclusion Keres herself had made and he couldn't help but smirk himself as he rested himself and folded his hands, wanting to see how this all turned out.  Porvós continued to search and ran into four more materials.  He flicked his tongue out before grabbing them and pulling them over to Domarus.

Sakoda kept her focus on Keres. It was time for her to take the fight into her hands. GIven Keres' sudden rush towards her, it would appear to be that she planned to strike at her. However, given the most recent actions Sakoda could determine that Keres wouldn't shift to an all-out attack just yet. No, there was some underhanded move that she would make, and as such she loosened her stance. She would be able to dodge faster than she would be able to block, should Keres decide to attack after all, but the true intention of her relaxation was to allow Keres to get in close. It was a very risky move, as she would practically be restricting herself, but if everything work as she envisioned it would, she would land a hit against her opponent. FIrst, Keres would get close. If she attacked, she would take control of the exchange, using her hand-to-hand knowledge from the real world to catch Keres off-guard and retaliate, depending on how Keres chose to attack her. That scenario would require more instinctual reactions over quick thinking. Should Keres side slash, she would need to block with her spear before grabbing her wrist and making her attack. An upper-handed attack would mean she could catch her wrist with one hand and attack with the spear in the other.

After she had landed her strike she turned to see if she was pulling a counter attack.  However she appeared to be too focused in her processing.  She certainly liked thinking in great detail about the battle.  Still, if she was too focused then she could just land multiple strikes.  Thus she decided strike immediately rather than move away again.  Keres rushed forward at Sakoda but before her strike could land Sakoda surprised her by reacting with self defense martial arts.  That would have been extremely effective..  If Keres hadn't had some training in that area as well.  She barely managed to smack her arms and hands away from her, grabbing one of them and flipping herself over Sakoda and held her arm behind her, pressing against her.  "My my, it seems I'm not the only one who knows the basics of self defense.  Of course, you love me right?  So maybe you wanted to use it to get closer to me?~"  She giggled before leaping back and shot forward again, striking at Sakoda again and again, a combination of basic martial arts and expert knife wielding.  There was no real order to her attacks, just raw instincts and long training.

Domarus was beginning to wonder if Sakoda was learning fast, or if it took her a long moment to think of a counter attack.  Of course, now Keres had moved in.  When she attacked however Sakoda showed actions that were related to martial arts.  He adjusted his position as this intrigued him.  He recalled overhearing Sakoda mention to Keres how she had wandered classes, sports and such looking for whatever she was in the mood for.  This meant that she might have a little bit of information in any area.  If this was the case, then she might be smarter than he originally believed.  Another thing he would need to consider.  Of course he knew Keres had basics in martial arts as well and even though it took her by surprise her instincts kicked in and she managed to change the position, choosing to taunt and tease her some more rather than striking her.  This Domarus preferred more than actually damaging Sakoda.  With that, he would be able to observe her overall skills.  Then Keres began to strike at Sakoda but she wasn't nearly at her maximum output yet.  She was still messing around.  ID#  83365  LD:  10+3=13  @Floofy

Sakoda blushed and growled in anger. Keres totally made a fool of her!! She pulled and struggled against the hold, trying to get free, but all that happened was she got more frustrated. "let...me... GO!!!" She barked at Keres, her rage building the more she tried to get free. She knew she was looking more and more foolish as she tried to get free, and this only more frustrated. She was starting to lose it, and she had already lost her concentration. after about a minute of struggling, she grew still, her head drooping in seeming submission. Then she spun around so she was facing Keres, catching her in mid-punch with her free hand. "enough of your games.." Her voice had become darker and more serious, as if Keres were now fighting a completely different girl. growling in fury, she drove her knee into Keres' stomach before slamming her to the ground. Something clearly happened to Sakoda. She wasn't the perky and goofy girl that she started out as. It's as if Keres had broke something in her, and now she wanted revenge.
