(PP-F1) Piggy Slaying

Recommended Posts

Fae was walking through the Town of Beginnings, staring down at the ground. She hadn't fully accepted that she was stuck in the game yet and was trying to walk off the feeling. It was a little hard to tell who was a player, and who was an NPC for Fae, so she mostly ignored everyone. She had been kicking a small rock that come out of the road for most of the day and kept walking with it.

Eventually, Fae did get tired of walking and came to the fountain in the middle of town square. She sat down on one of the benches and stared at the fountain. Fae then took the stone she had been kicking around and tossed it into the fountain. She opened her inventory and sighed. She was still only level 3. Fae hadn't done much outside of the town, so this didn't surprise her. The risk of death was the only thing stopping her from going out there.

Hei was walking through the town of beginnings, as it always was a good way to find new people who would maybe join the Emerald Harbingers, or who he could help, as this was one of the guilds core principles. When he walked past the fountain in the middle of the town square, a pink haired girl threw a stone into it, and water splashed into the air and at him, so he turned to her and said "Hey, could you please look before doing something like that" It might sound a little harsh, even though it was polite speaking, but his grinning face destroyed the picture of him being angry at her. - I haven't seen her before, maybe she needs my help. - he thought, while he opened his inventory, and equipped his evil looking spear.
When he was sure she was looking at him, he raised the weapon and hit the water, so she would be hit by the splash. When the water hit her, she laughed and said, "sorry for that."

Fae winced when she saw the water splash onto a young man walking by. "Oh my gosh! So sorry mister!" Fae apologized quickly as he turned to face her. She didn't see him walking by at first, she had just tossed the rock in. To Fae's surprised, she was splashed right back. He apologized too, and Fae laughed in response. "It's okay, kinda had that coming after splashing you." Fae said, giggling a little bit more.

Fae got up and walked over to the black-haired player. As usual, she had to look up to even see his face once she was near him. "I'm Fae, nice to meet ya! Who are you?" Fae asked, holding her hand out to shake. Maybe this player would become a good friend, maybe not. Regardless, Fae still wanted to get to know him. Getting to know other players was something she needed to do more often.

When the girl stood up, Hei realized, that she was really small, way to small in comparison to the most other players he had met. - I wonder how old she is, by her size and her face I would say she can't be older than ten or eleven, but the game wasn't made for kids this young. - he thought. When she walked over to him, looking up at him and telling him, that her name was Fae, Hei crouched down, so he and the girl where about the same size, and then he shook her hand. "Hi Fae, you got a beautiful name. My name is Hei, nice to meet you" and with a big smile, he let go of the hand and ruffled her hair.

After that he stood back up again and looked at the girl, wondering why she was in this game, and why she was alone, as he couldn't bare the thought of a kid being alone in a game where one false step could kill. So he asked her "Fae, are you alone? Or have you found friends already, who help you?"

Fae shook Hei's hand enthusiastically, and then listened to him introduce himself. "Thanks mister, you've got a nice name too! It's great to meet ya Hei!" Fae said as she let go of Hei's hand and took a step back. She was practically bouncing in place the way she was standing. Meeting someone new almost always excited Fae.

Hei had stood back up and then asked her if she was alone, to which Fae nodded her head, still keeping a smile on her face. "Yup! Fae is alone and still going strong! Fae only met two people so far actually. One of them tried to kill Fae, and the other isn't really around anymore. So yeah, Fae is alone." Fae answered. She didn't have the best of luck when it came to meeting people who would actually keep in touch with her, so hopefully this time would be different than the others.

When Hei saw how excited Fae was just from meeting him, he was really happy nthat he would be able to make the girls life better. It was just his kind of thing to help others, even though he had learned that there were other player who had the urge too, and even stronger than his.  Then the small girl answered his question and his facial expressions went from a happy smile to a shocked face when he heard that she had already met someone who was so evil, he or she had tryed to kill a innocent girl in this game of death. - This is so bad, how could something like that happen. She is way to young for this game and then instead of helping her someone tried to end her life. How could someone be like this- he shook his head and made an attempt to control his face back to a smile.

the smile didn't feel convincing, but maybe the girl wouldn't notice it, as she was still excited about meeting him. He wasn't sure what kind of reaction would be fitting, so he just said " Sounds like you're a strong girl. How about be go and grab something sweet and talk a little more, and after that we could go outside the town and I'll show you how you can defend yourself. Even though you seem to be a tough girl anyway."

Fae was still hopping in place when she noticed Hei's facial expression changed to a shocked look when she had mentioned that someone had tried to kill her. She didn't really see it as too big of a deal, since she made it out of there alive. "Don't worry mister, Fae handled herself pretty well. Fae is still here, and that's all that matters!" Fae said reassuringly, hoping that Hei wouldn't be too worried about her.

Hei had then offered to get Fae something and talk a little bit more. This practically made Fae's eyes sparkle as she loved sweets. "Okay! Fae would love to talk some more over some sweets! Fae can defend herself a little bit too, but some training couldn't hurt. Fae is only level 3, so we can't really take on a bunch of baddies." Fae said as she stopped hopping and calmed herself down, but she still kept a big smile on her face.

He was glad, that the young girl was ok with having something sweet before they would be leaving the town, as he hadn't had anything till now and he was in the mood of eating a whole cake. So when she agreed Hei led them through the town, until they arrived at a local pub, or at least that was what it looked from the outside. " This is the spicy bunny and it's my most favourite thing in this town, they have got anything you can think of, at least if it's somehow related to cake" and with these words, he opened the door and walked to a table. When the popup menu appeared he browsed through it, and after quite some time he ordered some strawberry cupcakes and a hot chocolate. "Choose what ever you want, I'll pay for it" he told Fae.

A little later the food they had ordered was brought to them and Hei's eyes began to shine, as the cupcake looked so damn delicious. On taking his first bite, he released a slight moan of enjoyment and then had a look at Fae, wondering if she was as pleased as he was.

Fae followed Hei to the pub looking place called the Spicy Bunny and licked her lips upon entering. Just hearing Hei say the word cake got Fae worked up. She hadn't eaten much recently, so cake sounded like a great thing to eat right now, since she had plenty of room in her stomach.

The pop up menu appeared in front of Fae and she began to go through, trying to decide on what to get. After around 10 seconds, Fae decided on a big slice of vanilla cake and some milk. She pressed the order button and the pop up menu promptly disappeared.

Fae sat down and her order came almost immediately, just like Hei's order. Fae watched Hei take his first bit of one of the cupcakes, and he seemed to enjoy it. Fae grabbed a fork and put a piece of the cake in her mouth. Fae also moaned from joy as the cake was so good. "Wow! This is really good! Thanks for paying mister Hei!" Fae exclaimed as she took another bite.

- Very well. I have brought her the joy of food in this game of death - he thought, having a flashback of his first time when he stumbled into this somewhat strange cafe. He had been in the game for quite some time with nothing but the boring bread one could get for free. So when he first had tasted the sweets one could get in this pub, he had changed his view of life with the game, as he now knew that the game was not just torture for them, but that one could live a life in here. This was when he began levelling and fighting his way to where he was now. "I know that it is good. It's one of my favourite places in this game and I hope we'll meet here many times while getting stronger and having tales to tell each other" he said. Then he though about what he said and noticed that it somehow sounded a little creepy but he didn't know what to do to un creep it, so he just took another bite of his cupcake and a sip of hot chocolate. "You know what little girl? Once we have finished this, we will go outside the town, but on the way we will have a short break at my store, I have something for you around there"

Fae was a little confused by what Hei had meant by tales, but she figured it was just things that happened. "Fae hopes we meet here again in the future too mister Hei. Fae will hopefully get stronger too." Fae said in response before taking another bite of her cake and getting a bit of frosting on her face.

Fae took a sip of her milk and set her glass back down on table. When Hei said that he had something for Fae around his shop, Fae got more excited and leaned forward in her seat out of eagerness to know what Hei had for her. "Really? You got something for Fae? What is it?" Fae asked eagerly. She loved suprises like this, and she couldn't wait to see what it was. Her last few suprises weren't too enjoyable, but Fae had her hopes up for what Hei had at his shop.

Hearing that she too was happy about them being here, and that she hoped for them to meet again in the future Hei was very happy. He knew that there were lots of things that could went wrong and prohibit them from meeting again, but he was positive that they would overcome all such problems and that Fae would become a strong fighter. Her overly friendly and exited presence made him feel comfortable and so he finished his cake, letting the little girl wait for him to finish, even though it seemed as if she was close to jumping on the table when he had told her, that he had a gift for her.

"You should finish your cake and then wash your face, if you don't want to look like a dwarf with a beard" he told her, smiling widely. When they had finished their food, Hei lead the way to his store, the hanger and opened the door. Once they were inside he quickly walked over to a board that wasn't used often and where a few stuffed plushies waited for someone to buy them and took Axel Lotl from his pace and walked back to Fae. "How would you like this cuddly friend?"  handing her the plushie.

Hei had joked that Fae should wipe her face off or she would look like a dwarf with a beard. Fae got the beard part, but she didn't get why she would like a dwarf. Fae laughed and wiped he frosting off of her face and took one last sip of her milk before gettong up from her seat and following Hei out the Spicy Bunny.

When they entered the shop, Hei had grabbed a plushie off of the shelf and handed it to Fae, in which she immediately found it to be adorable. Fae hugged Axel Lotl as soon as Hei handed him to her. "He's so adorable! Thank you so much!" Fae thanked as she hugged the plushie tightly. "Axel is so cute! How can Fae pay you back for him?" Fae asked, hoping to not seem ungrateful. Axel was adorable, and Fae wanted to make sure she paid Hei back.

Seeing how Fae went from the strong girl being caught in a death game that had already killed a player to the real kid in her, Hei was super happy he had remembered that he had some plushies in his shop he hadn't sold off. The small girl hugged the plushy that was nearly half as big as she was and told him, that it was so adorable. "No Problem, who could have earned it better, than a strong girl like you" he said, while thinking about what they would be doing next. Before he had come up with a good plan, Fae asked him, how she could pay back for the gift, and Hei who had actually though of it as a gift wasn't sure what to answer. He slightly shook his head, before telling her, that she wouldn't have to do anything for him, as it was a gift, but that he would be happy if she could take good care of the plushie for him.

After that, Hei lead Fae back out of his shop and over to one of the towns gates. "you know that there are strong monsters out there, but as I don't know how strong you are, how about we fight one of the weaker ones just for fun? I'll let you do the work and just help if you need it?"

Fae continued to hug Axel while Hei had compliment her after she thanked him. "Yeah, Fae is strong! But not as much as you probably mister Hei, you're super strong Fae bets!" Fae complimented back as she squeezed the plush in her arms. Axel was soft, and Fae just couldn't get enough of him. When Hei said she didn't have to do anything for him, Fae just got even more excited and got a bigger smile on her face. "Thanks mister Hei! Fae just thought there was a catch or something like that." Fae said as they left the shop headed over to the town gates.

Once there at one of the gates, Hei told Fae that they would be fighting some monsters now, and Fae nodded in return. She was looking forward to fighting some mobs herself. Fae put Axel in her inventory, not wanting anything to happen to him, and took out her dagger. "Okay, we can start with the weak ones. Fae will do her best!" Fae said in response as she scanned the field, trying to spot a weak looking boar.

Being in the presence of a person, that smiled from one ear to the other, was like medicine for Hei. He had always been a curious guy and the death aspect of the game hadn't been so bad for him, as he still wasn't sure, if it was real, or just some perfectly created illusion for them to have a higher consistent with the game world. What ever it was, within the last year he had become bored by the game a little, as there wasn't so much new to find and he had realized that if the death part was real, all his friends were in danger. So when he now saw the little girl smile like that, it felt as if the world was a better place.

Out in the fields, Hei spotted a weak looking boar mob, that he would be able to bait over to them, so Fae could show him how well she knew her way around with the fighting system of the game. So he said "Ok, here it comes, show me how well you can fight, and if there are any questions, just ask" while he walked over to the boar and attacked it with his spear, not using a swordskill, so it would be damaged but not killed. He hit it with the shaft of the spear, reducing it's HP by nearly 1 third and making it angry. The now aggressive boar followed him, when he ran back at Fae, landing an attack before it was in Fae's reach.

Fae put Axel in her inventory, not wanting any harm to come to the plushie at all, and took out her dagger, along with her cloak. Hei had attacked the boar already and dealt a good amount of damage to it, just one point short of a third. Fae was impressed that Hei could deal that much without a sword art or anything like that.

Fae got a good grip on her dagger and lunged at the boar and slashed at it. Unfortunately for her, Fae had barely missed the boar and went skidding along the ground a few feet after missing in an almost comedic fashion. Fae sat up and shook her head before standing back up. "Fae is okay! Fae just messed up, she'll get it on the next attack!" Fae called out, a little bit emvarassed by missing her first attack in front of Hei. This was a terrible way to show how she fought.

Once the boar was close enough for Fae to reach it, she tried to hit it with her dagger, but instead missed it and skidded along the ground, but it seemed as if she wasn't hit to bad by this, as she simply stood up again and told him, that she was ok. Hei had done this kind of fight with a few lower players, and he knew how hard it was to hit some mobs when one wasn't assisted by some accuracy item. - I like her fighting spirit, she doesn't give up just because she missed the first attack, but tells me that she will hit the next time. - as Hei could see that she wouldn't be able to kill it with her next attack and that the boar looked as if it wasn't sure whom to attack, Hei stabbed at it a second time, just to get it's attention. The spear sank into the boar, leaving a red mark and making it angry. The boar charged at Hei, who simply jumped out of the way to not get hit. "Here's your second chance" he said, when he lead the charging boar towards Fae a second time.

Fae held her dagger close to herself as she watched Hei almost effortlessly hit the boar, and then he just as effortlessly jumped out of the way. Fae was just as impressed as she thought she would be with Hei. She just had a lot of work to do if she wanted to reach Hei's power, and this was before Hei would start using sword arts, so she was just in awe. Although just about anyone who was stronger than Fae impressed her.

Fae nodded when Hei told her that it was her second chance to get the boar. Fae gripped her dagger and it glowed a light pink as she activated the Round Accel sword art. Fae lunged at the boar again and slashed it on the side quickly. Fae turned around and slash the boar on the other side. "Yes! Fae hit it this time!" Fae cheered as she ran back over to Hei.

Hei was paying great attention to the boar, as he had to make sure it would focus it's attacks on him. Maybe Fae was strong enough that a single attack wouldn't be so bad, but Hei was gonna protect her, so he simply looked the boar into it's eyes to make it even angrier. When it was close enough Fae released a swordskill at it and this time the dagger slashed the boar, dropping it's remaining HP by half. "That was a nice attack, one more of those and you got it" Hei said, while the boar was running after him. The scene must be funny to watch from the outside, with the big armoured and armed guy running from low level boar, while the small girl attacked it with a small dagger. When Hei thought about that, he had to smile. After another round, he began breathing really heavy, as he had forgotten, that exhaustion was a thing in sao. The moment he reduced his speed, the boar charged in, but Hei used his reflexes to jump out of the way.
