He was born and raised in the American south by two loving parents. He grew up with only one sibling, a brother eight years younger than him. Blake, August’s younger brother, looked up to him for a long while, and they often played video games together. August did well enough in school, he was intelligent and sociable and made good grades, even if he was often preoccupied. After high school, he went to a local university and majored in Education, wanting to be a secondary school teacher himself. While at college, he started dating a girl from his hometown that he had crushed on for years. The two of them grew very fond of one another and moved in together during his junior year in college. After graduating from the university, August and his fiancée moved away from their hometown, about a nine or ten hour drive from where they grew up. He got a job as a teaching assistant for a year before getting his own teaching position at a local high school. After that first year of teaching, his fiancée left him, and he nearly fell apart. If it hadn’t been for gaming with his brother to keep him anchored, there’s no telling where August would have ended up. That’s why August had stood in line for so long, he had taken off of work to camp out and pick up two copies of the game. His brother would be arriving by bus the next day and the two would spend a week exploring this exciting new world together. But, it wouldn’t hurt to take it for a test run, or so August thought. Virtues: Brave. August eschews fear, having found he has spent too much of his life afraid. He readily faces danger, particularly if it means others won't have to. Knowing timidity will not save him - nor anyone else - from this world, he acts with a daring and boldness that eluded him most of his life. Cheerful. August can be full of humor and mirth. Oftentimes, he finds himself as the butt of his own joke, an unfortunate side effect of childhood bullying and needing to be the center of attention. He does his best to cheer up those around him, bringing a lighter air to the grave situation the players find themselves in. Prepared. While not being one of the infamous play testers, August does have a long history with gaming of all kinds. He has experience with planning and strategy, lending him a hand when it comes to designing attack plans. Though their predicament is grievous, his readiness gives him some measure of confidence. Flaws: Cocksure. August's newfound bravery seems to have made him a bit reckless, despite the potential consequences. Though he now has more self-confidence, it can make him arrogant at times. It could even be said he takes unnecessary risks in regards to himself. Lighthearted. While being a boon is some situations, August's humor can also be a drawback. Some folks think he doesn't take anything seriously. While this isn't the case, there are perhaps some things he shouldn't make light of. Stubborn. Due to his history of gaming and his perceived readiness, August can be headstrong in his decision making. While playing alone, that can be a good thing, bit it doesn't always go well in groups. He can be pushy with his plans or ideas, particularly when faced with an opposing view. Profession ???? Completed Roleplays ????
