As she moved around the tree, she accidentally kicked something. Well, the thing apparently was a wolves den, but there was only one wolf in it. From the den emerged an angry wolf, something that she kind of expected to see when she heard the growl. Nephthys lunged forward, diagonally slashing the wolf's chest. As she backed away from it she saw that the wolf's health bar went down but it didn't drop like the others had. This wolf had to be a higher level, great. She watched the wolf and tried to move when it pounced on her, but instead, she fell to the ground with a wolf atop of her.

The wolf bit her arm as she tried to push it off and she growled herself as she finally managed to hook her foot under the wolf's stomach and kicked it off of her. She assessed the damage done to herself before she slowly rolled back to her feet.

As she rolled back to her feet, she grabbed her spear once more and she stared at the wolf. So, accidentally kicking a wolves den will wake up the big bad wolf, that was good to know really. But of course, she found this out really late, this can be seen as she is staring the red eyed wolf down. So, she did what she knows best, she thrusted her spear into the wolf's rib cage as it move to her side and she watched as another chunk of health left it. Good, now it was in the red, that was a great thing to see.

But, what she didn't expect was for her hit to shove the wolf off to the side so that it would miss attacking her. That worked in her favor a bit, and it helped her think of what to do next. She didn't know how strong this wolf would be without her gear, and well, she wasn't in the mindset to figure out if it can get past her gear.

She sighed lightly as she watched the wolf stumble on it's paws for a moment. She decided that she should take that as her advantage as she went to hit the wolf once more. Only, the wolf managed to move out of the way fast enough, even while it was slightly confused. Well, lucky him. She righted her stance as she waited to see what the wolf was going to do. But she didn't plan on the hole at her feet to make her trip as she tried to move away from the attack. The wolf was soon clawing at her leg as it tried to climb up her body to get to her head. Yeah, not going to happen. She took the butt of her spear and shoved it into the wolf's chest, pushing it off of herself. This at least stopped the attack from getting worse, but it still didn't settle the fact that the wolf was currently the only thing hitting.

She was still stuck in the hole so she couldn't even get close to the wolf to attack it. Blasted environment. She worked on pulling her leg out of the hole, at least, until the wolf pounced on her. It helped dislodge her leg, but it also was able to bit her arm as she swatted at the wolf. But soon enough, she watched it's health bar deplete, and then it was gone in a cloud of fragments. Good, she didn't want to deal with that wolf much longer. She didn't even bother to look at her loot window before she dismissed it.

She made sure that her leg was fully dislodged from the hole before she laid back on the ground and stared at the tree tops. She was really starting to hate this forest and just wanted the hell out. She sighed as she gathered her spear and rose back to her feet, attempting to find a way out.

Okay, time to look for a new way out of here. She could have sworn that she saw some sort of light coming from a slot between a couple of trees, so she started by heading in that direction. She figured that by following the light, she was going to get herself out of the dark and back into..well the light. She just wanted the sunlight back at this point. That might make it easier for her to be seen by an animal that wants to become a familiar for a player. No matter how much you hear someone talk about this quest, you never once hear them say that it has taken this long. But, here she was, still searching and finally no longer lost.

She saw the clear fields and she dashed from the treeline into the open. Oh sweet sunlight how she has missed you with a passion during her time in the trees.

Out of the trees, this was a wonderful thing. At least, until you run into a pack of boars. There were four of them, and they didn't seem to appreciate Neph running right into them. It looked like they were just minding their own business after all. But, she wasn't in the mood to really think as she did a diagonal slash with her spear's tip right through the middle of the first boar. It dropped to just a sliver of health, and this scared the thing as it tried to dash away from her instead of toward her. Poor thing.

The second boar wasn't so scared though and it ran right at Neph while she was distracted looking at the first boar, and it managed to ram it's head right into her leg. But the moment it hit her, she watched as it's health dropped to zero, killing it instantly. She was really thankful for the enchantments on this armor. The same thing happened to the third boar when it too rammed it's head into her other leg, and the fourth boar, well, it was petrified right in it's spot.

She watched the two remaining boars. She didn't know what it was that she was going to expect to happen, but there had to be some way to predict how the boars were going to act, right? She wouldn't be able to know until she was actually able to do that, and since she wasn't she was just going to focus on making sure that she wasn't about to get blind sided again. So, she lunged forward and thrusted the top of her spear into the boar's chest, and she watched as the boar turned to fragments around her spear. Good, one more boar to deal with.

She turned around just in time to see the boar starting to charge her and she quickly moved to the side and pushed the boar off balance with the butt of the spear. She watched as the boar ended up skidding to a halt before it ran into a tree.

Well, this was going well in her favor. Three of the boars were already dead, and there was just one of them left. She knew that she shouldn't count her luck though, because she obviously hasn't had much of it if she hasn't gotten herself a darned familiar yet. She sighed softly just before she moved forward once more and slashed the tip of her spear against the boar's side. She watched as it's health dropped a bit and she smiled lightly. Good, that means that this might be done just that much faster. The boar though, apparently hadn't been expecting for her to hit her that soon, for it was soon stumbling to move toward her. She watched as it stumbled and stumbled, ready to push it to the side, until the boar just fell from the lack of balance. She didn't know what was wrong with this boar, but it was almost as if it forgot how to walk.

She was going to be nice to the boar. She was going to let the thing catch it's balance and footing once more. Why? Mainly because she was bored and killing something that was already easy bait wasn't going to be fun. She didn't think that it was a sport that even her own brother would approve of. Hm, thinking about him, she needed to figure out what was actually going on with him. Perhaps she could drag him along to hunt down this familiar again? At least then it wouldn't be so boring. Oh hey, look, the boar was on it's feet and ready to go again.

That meant that she was free to stab it with the tip of her spear once more. She watched more health drain from the boar and she was easily able to side step from it's own attack. This was a sport, just a really boring one right now.

The boar stopped running as it neared a rock and it spun around to look at Neph. It looked like there was murder in it's eyes, and that was something that she could admire about this little boar. It wasn't going to go down without a fight. She watched though, wanting to know what the boar was going to do. She wanted to be sure that she was prepared to anything. So when it looked like the boar wasn't going to move, she pushed her spear forward, but missed the boar as it dash forward toward Neph.

The woman quickly threw her body to the right to avoid the attack, and she looked at the boar. Well, wasn't that a smart little move that the thing did. She admired that a bit before she righted her stance and fixed how she was griping her spear. She almost lost it when she moved out of the way of that boar.

Okay, so they both missed, that was a thing. Hopefully, this wasn't going to turn into a common thing. She just wanted to kill this boar and be on her way. At this point, she was just going to head back to town. She was going to abandon the quest, go and grab some supplies that will help her luck, then try this again. But to even be able to do that, she needed to kill this darned boar. As she lunged forward to thrust her spear's tip into the boar, the boar managed to move around her spear. She growled under her breath before she righted herself. The boar was starting to move, and she wanted to move at the last minute to make it hard for the boar to hit her. So once it was within a few feet of herself, she moved to the left and was narrowly missed. Perhaps that was cutting it a bit too close.

This was turning into a thing wasn't it? She misses, the boar misses. This was just going to be some kind of large missing circle that was going to irritate the heck out of the woman. Mainly because she didn't have the patience to deal with that kind of stuff right now. She had better things to do, like leave and get supplies then come back. Too bad there was no way that she was going to leave this fight without killing the boar first. She could always run away, but that wouldn't be worth it.

Oh wait, she was still in a fight, that's right. She went to move forward, only to forget to have her spear ready to hit the boar. Instead of the boar, it ended up getting caught on a rock making her attack stop instantly. The sound that it made seemed to scare the boar though because it jumped and was now looking around for the source of the sound.

She wasn't going to waste time this time. Getting her spear out of it's stuck situation, she lunged forward thrusting the spear's tip right into the boar's unguarded chest. The tip of her spear embedded itself into the boar, and soon enough, it's health was gone and the boar was a cloud of fragments. She sighed as the threat was gone and she sat back on the rock that had caught her spear just moments before. She looked around and she shook her head. How in the world was she supposed to do this if she couldn't even hit things harder than she was? Thankfully, she was going to level up soon, or else her damage would be forever pathetic. But, leveling up meant that it was going to get better and easier to kill things. More energy would make it easier too, so there was that happiness to look forward to as well.

Still sitting on her rock, she looked at Spartan. Thankfully, it didn't look like it was going to break, which was a wonderful thing. She took her focus from the spear then and she looked around the surrounding area. She could see the gates of town, and she knew that she was nearly back. But there was still a distance between herself and that goal, so she wanted to sit and regenerate some of her energy. This was mainly because know her luck, she was going to run into something else that wanted to fight. She was wanting to be prepared for that. Nephthys sighed as she slowly rose from her little perch on the rock. It was a comfortable rock, did she really need to move from it? Yes, so that she could get back to town before it got too dark and so that she could do that shopping that she needed to do.

As she stood, she felt her back pop a few times. Well, that was a little bit of pressure off of her back at least. So that was a good thing going for her. Nephthys started to walk toward the gates of the town. She didn't know what she was going to do really. She just wanted to have that familiar and to go on her way. But there was no way to do that since she can't seem to find one. Just her luck really. She sighed lightly as she walked and she thought about the things that she should get. She was certain that she saw an artisan on the first floor, so she should go there and look at getting a perfect trinket with maxed loot die. The should help her shouldn't it. But she had a feeling that wasn't going to be the best way to go. She was certain that a cook could actually cook things with loot die luck, so perhaps that would be worth looking at as well.

Walking, walking, boredom, walking. That was the things on her mind as she made her way back to the town. But something stopped her in her tracks, the sounds of a boar rooting into the ground. It was actually still ahead of her and hadn't heard her walking up yet. She was going to take that and use it. Charging forward, she did a diagonal slash through the boar and watched as it's health dropped to the yellow right away. Well, that must have meant that she got a critical, even if just a small one.

She smirked lightly at the thought that she managed to already drop the boar below half health, that was a good little confidence booster. But as the boar regained it's bearings, it charged at Neph, only for her to side step to the right quickly, the boar charging right past her. Sucks to be the boar, hopefully he turns around and comes back.

Well, the boar turned around, so it was going to come back. Good, she would hate to lose out on the loot that it could give her. But, as she started to get ready to charge at the boar, it was already moving toward her, and at full speed it seemed like. This looked like it was going to hurt. She still tried to hit the boar with a basic attack, but failed as the boar slammed right into her making her stagger back a few steps. Well, that wasn't going in her favor now was it. It actually hurt a bit too. It at least managed to take the wind from her chest.

She had to take a few moments to get her breathing back to normal, and she just stared down this boar. She didn't like it. It hit harder than the ones that she had dealt with earlier today, and well, that sucked.

She looked at the boar as she righted herself and she shook her head. That was bad on her part for letting the thing hit her. So, she was going to hit it first again. Lunging forward, she thrusted her spear into the boar, nipping it's shoulder perfectly to do some damage and drop the boar into the red. It was almost dead. Good. Nearly done. Nearly there. She could see the gates of the town just over the boar's head, and she really just wanted to go back into the town. But, she wasn't going to run away. Her hit landed, and she was now watching the boar to see what it was going to do. But what she didn't expect was for it to move to the left, then the right, in a zigzag formation until it hit her right in the gut. Okay mister boar, you are starting to be a bad thing to be dealing with. The sun was starting to set, and she wasn't in the safety of the town. She wasn't liking these factors as she stepped forward and thrusted her spear right into the boar's head. She felt the spear get stuck in the boar's head, and she wondered if it wasn't going to give it back. But then, she watched the boar's health deplete and the boar was fragments mere moments later. She closed the loot window not really caring about it at all.

The moment that it was settled and the boar was dead, she started to walk once more. She was going to be safe, if anything for the sake of the fact that she just started to reconnect with her brother and didn't feel like dying yet. She just wanted to get home safe and sound.

She gave it one last look around before she neared the town. She wondered if perhaps her familiar had been just sitting out here waiting for her. That would be nice wouldn't it. But, that wasn't her case, her luck wasn't the best thing and it was proven today as she looked at the quest and swiftly abandoned it. The familiar food disappeared from her inventory and she nodded to herself lightly. There was nothing else that she could do without some extra luck, and that was what she was about to go and buy. She was going to buy herself some extra luck, and probably even look into joining a profession. Why not just do both things while she tried to figure out a better way of getting this horrid quest done. She sighed though, she didn't like the feeling of defeat that was washing over her, but that was getting over powered by the fact that it was now dark.
