Natalie Mikazuki had proven academically astute, heavily due to wishes of her parents. With academics taking up the majority of her life, however, Natalie herself began to grow emotionally unstable; day after day, constantly studying and improving her knowledge. She desperately searched for an outlet, finding one in a massive, electronic world: the Internet, where she made her friends. Of these friends, the one she found herself closest to was a boy her age, or so he claimed, going by Revan. It was Revan who led her to purchasing Sword Art Online, regardless of the fact that she didn't consider herself a gamer in the slightest. Her parents weren't fond of the idea, but they gave in. She logged onto S.A.O. as Natalia, and spent time there with Revan, but he eventually just vanished. After the annoucement, she knew what had happened to him: someone had attempted to forcibly remove his Nerve Gear, and whoever Revan may have been was now dead, leaving her alone in a virtual world.
