  1. Not a single drop from this beast though...But it was alright.

Heading back to town he found the NPC giving out the quest. "So you wanna work in mah shop eh?" said the scruffy NPC as he spit at the ground. "Well I'd like to hire ya, I really would...But we gots a bit of a pest problem." He knew where this was going..."A Kill this here and come back" kinda quest...With a sigh he raised his finger to accept the quest, pressing his finger against the blue button after the menu popped up.

  3. Why was the skill system hating him right now? His last two attempts at an attack failed, the skill dissipating before making contact causing even less damage from his weapon than base damage. His blade bounced off of the tusk and dug into his gut, sending him back on his arse...

    Again.

"GRAH! THAT'S IT!!" he charged the beast, running past it, hoping to confuse it.

  4. The maneuver wasn't successful at all. Both beasts stood fast, ready to fight, but neither would fight another day. Focusing on the stronger of the two monsters, Kai's speed brought the blade to bear twice, striking at the wolf's head. The boar of course took this opportunity and began a charge attack.

    Kai: 8/9

    Wolf: 3/3

    Boar: 2/2

  5. Satisfied with his attack, the two animal-type monsters scattered, heading off in different directions before circling back, charging at the single player. He could take a hit from either monster. In fact, he could take a hit from both monsters...Did he want to? Of course not! Attacks here...well they hurt. So he waited for them to come close, to converge.

When the time was right he jumped out of the way, tucking and rolling, ready to fight again.

  6. His focus on the boar, he had put the wolf to the back of his mind, a mistake. The wolf came from behind at took a small chunk of his HP. Crying out in surprise he cursed under his breath, tossing the wolf off of his arm in time to dodge the boar.

    Qwee, Qwuu...Qwee, Qwuu...

His eyes shifting from wolf to boar his mind slowly wrapped around the battle as they both began to circle him. He needed to split the damage. As the two met in the circle they walked he shouted, charging the two monsters and thrusting his blade, a sword skill activating, his blade glowing bright yellow.

    Kai: 8/9

    Boar: 2/2

    Wolf:3/3

  7. A complete blunder! While he was starting to get the hang of his normal attacks, skills were another story. With no one to teach him he had to learn on the fly. Sucking his teeth and noticing his mistake, he quickly pivoted, grabbing another monster's attention. It was luckily just a boar.

Charging at him, he sucked his teeth again in annoyance this time, preparing to strike the boar when it was in range...

  8. The first wolf noticed him as he tried to sneak by, its red eyes blinking as agro was trained on Kai. It charged him, attacking with a lunge bit common for their AI. Moving to the side with a sidestep, he jabbed his weapon towards the wolf, his rapier glowing bright yellow, the quickness of the Rapier weapon skill allowed him two blows, if they would hit though was another matter...

    Profile

    » Username: Tristan

    » Real name: Hirotomi Tetsuya

    » Age: 21

    » Gender: Male

    » Height: 2 Meters

    Personality

    A pacifist under going training to become a monk in the real world, Tetsuya is an outspoken young man with a lot of good in his heart. Though he can be overbearing and overprotective of those close to him, he does it in good will and out of habit. His training has caused him to also become very trusting, searching for the good in all things, even this death game leaving others to think he is a happy-go-lucky sort of man, which is not the case. {More to Come as he Develops}

    » Virtues:

    Strength of Mind.

His training to become a Monk has given Tetsuya a very solid state of mind. Usually calm and able to find his center in any situation, he also often meditates to keep the devils of this world from creeping into his mind and heart which could cause him to falter.

    Strength of Body.

Though a pacifist in the real world Tetsuya has taken self defense training as well as martial arts and has taught self defense to both of his younger siblings. This strength of body has kept him, so far, well preserved in the real world.

    Strength of Heart

Also charitable, Tetsuya has a large heart. He often says that his only wish was that his heart were large so that he could accommodate all that were less fortunate than himself.

    » Flaws:

    Reference: http://www.darkworldrpg.com/lore/flaws.html

    Passionate.

His passion for others is incredible, like a roaring flame but sometimes that leads him into trouble for other's sake. Often leaving him poor (for his level) and without many resources.

    Reckless.

It also makes him very reckless. His want, or almost need to help and save others constantly puts him at death's door.

    Trusting.

In a world such as SAO many have said that trust is the biggest weakness players have that could limit their time on this Earth. Tricking him into a secluded area and PKing him for example would not be difficult (at least for now).

    Story Thus Far

Born in Kashihara Japan Tetsuya was the oldest of three and the only boy in the household. His father left after his mother was found cheating with another man whom is the father of the youngest child. Leaving without saying goodbye or a reason his mother fell into depression leaving Tetsuya to raise his two younger sisters. She later married a rather wealthy young man and the family moved to Nara Japan, the capital of their Prefecture.

His step-father tried very hard to connect with the three children but Tetsuya held a dislike of him, in fact many male figures his mother had brought into his life before he disliked as well, his feelings for his father still unresolved. His distance from his step-father eventually became distance from his family and he became absorbed in online games. This continued until his mother and step-father were killed in a car accident and the three siblings moved to Kyoto, their closest relatives, or relative rather. A monk of one of the local temples.

Cold to his new foster father as well the non-overbearing and peaceful man was cotent with simply providing for the three. Eventually Tetsuya grew to like the older man and began to accompany him to the local shrine and his life changed forever. No longer filled with hate and anger he found peace and physical prowess he didn't think was possible. He met many people at festivals and became the father figure for his sisters when their caretaker eventually died. His love for games never went away though, and when SAO was first announced he fell in love with the world, pre-ordering a copy and jumping into the game when it came out. But now...Well only time will tell what will happen next.

  10. Gwooo, Plow!

The beast perished, offering neither credits or loot, not even materials were dropped from the beetle monster he had just killed. "Guh, really? Nothing, again?" Scrolling his finger through the air he grimaced as he looked at his empty inventory. It seemed ever since he killed that wolf and was bumped up to level three he wasn't getting any loot drops. Maybe..it was time to do a quest?

He had read in the Guide book given out by the beta testers that there was a quest that offered materials and for first timers it gave them a "Profession". He didn't know much about smithing or any of the other professions...But he knew he wanted to help other players. . First things first...He needed to get back to town. Turning towards the general direction of the Town of Beginings he groaned as several boar and wolves spawned along the way.

If he could do this right he could get to town without too much damage.

  11. Turning in for the day seemed the best course of action. Checking in to the inn once again and moving to his room he went over the progress and loot gained from today's adventure. As he looked over the gear and how far he had come from just the day before, things were looking up. Maybe he could make a living for himself here after all....

    Conclusion

    `•.•â—•۰• ••.•´

    Ending HP- 6/9

    Item(s)/Material(s) Dropped:

    • +1 Leather Working Material-Boar Skin
      +1 Artisan Material-Wolf Fang
      +10 Col

    Level(s) Gained: 2

    Final Level: 3

    Skill Point(s) Gained: 1

  12. His trek to town was...more than expected and disappointing. He fought another wolf and boar on the way, gaining experience points but literally no items or col dropped. Thankfully though, the fights weren't nearly as challenging as his earlier ones or even the boar he fought yesterday. He did gain a level from the fights though. Now level three he felt like he could take on the world. Of course, even he knew that wasn't actually possible.

The death game would make sure of that.

  13. Another clean hit. The boar burst into shiny blue polygons. No loot this time around, but he was awarded a small amount of Col for his efforts at least. Replacing his weapon he sighed and looked off into the distance as the wind blew across the field. Flower petals flew past his face, tossing his hair willy nilly. Grinding was hard work...But after his second day, he was feeling confident in his abilities. Maybe he would take up a real quest soon, something...that maybe didn't require a lot of fighting as he was still a low level.

For now though, he would head back to town if not to just heal up and get ready for another round.

    (+10 Col)

  14. But all of that confidence went fluttering away. He put too much gas into his thrust and over shot the boar, tripping. The boar, seeing this chance sprung onto its front legs and let loose a kick that sent the young gamer reeling. Right in the chin went the boar's hooves sending Kai onto his arse.

"Ow..." he muttered, rubbing his chin, a large red spot the shape of a hoof imprinted on his cheek and chin. This thing was going to be sorry it did that..."You little..." grunting, he stood up and lunged for the thing once more.

  15. He saw the shivers run down the boar's spine. Simulated animal instinct took over and the boar bolted, rounded a tree and returned. Its breath was heavy and sent small plumes of steam from its nostrils. Comical almost, but the red eyes and menacing tusks on the beast kept Kai from being amused by its behavior. This thing could kill him if he let it...

It squealed in protest as it ran towards the player. At this point he had learned how Boars moved and easily moved out of its way. "Woah there buddy!" maybe he shouldn't be so lax, but he couldn't help it now. His confidence was high in the clouds. As the boar stumbled passed he let loose a lazy strike at its rear.

  16. On to the next spawn! Almost on cue another boar glittered into existence. He was feeling confident now and no pig was going to knock him down today! Readying his rapier he jumped the poor thing, attacking it from the flank. Of course with no flanking bonuses, his attack would go off as normal, but it did give him the element of surprise.

With a fierce battle cry he lunged forward with his quick rapier...

  17. "Yes!!" he shouted, pumping his sword arm in the air as the beast exploded behind him. Col and loot from two beasts, what could come from the rest of his grinding journey? Who knew grinding could be so helpful. Looking to his exp bar he became even more excited. He was almost at level three! Just a little over 50% complete.

With a content sigh he sheathed his weapon and put his hands on his hips. A good day, a good day so far. "Let the farming continue!" he shouted.

    (+1 Artisan Material-Wolf Fang)

  18. But of course not, with his luck he missed, or rather the wolf's AI judged the easily predicted move and ducked, sprinting away to come in for a counter attack. Two attacks, one goal for both sides. He felt his heart pounding. His luck was really taking a turn for the better. last fight he nearly died fighting what could be the equivalent of a slime, now he was cutting through this wolf like nobody's business. Maybe it was the new level, but he felt strong and more confident.

"Heyaaaaaah!" The wolf barked in response, its red eyes bounding towards him with only the death of another player on its mind.
