As a child, Ryouhei was always fascinated with video games. He loved to not only play them, but he loved to watch his older brother, Kagami, play through them. Later, Ryouhei and Kagami began to game together, but Ryouhei was never able to find a game to stick with. He bounced from one title to the next, until he came across Sword Art Online. He was intrigued by the concept of a virtual reality MMO, but he failed to get into the beta. Both Ryouhei and his brother received the game the day it released and quickly began to play it. During the commotion that ensued after learning of the Death Game, Ryouhei became separated from his brother and was unable to contact him via private message. He feared the worst had happened to his brother...
