Maybe because of his adrenaline,maybe he is lucky or maybe his sense of fear helps him. He doesn't know,but what he knows is he don't want to die. He close his eyes and jump to the left,hoping for the best. He dodge the attack and land near the boar when it stop. When he open his eyes,he know that if he didn't do something,his HP bar will surely fall.

And attack he must. He slash upwards at the boar point blank,his sword tear through the boar's flesh.

The boar seems to be getting smarter,as if its attacking this newbie attack. The boar dodge the his attack easily. Yuji is getting frustrated because his attack is not connecting. His fear is rising slowly too.He fear that his attack will never hit the boar,and the boar will slowly attack him until he die.

Of course,that is a wishful thinking. He's still adapting himself with the system. His attack fall a bit short near the boar. The boar,as if realizing this its chance try to headbutt him. He realize that he is not in a good situation. Hoping he is quick enough, he jump away from the boar with hope the boar's headbutt will miss.

The boar certainly is not happy getting stone threw at him, Yuji is bewildered because the stone can deal large damage.

"What is this,a railgun?"

The boar noticing its attacker, quickly charge at him with its hard head. Yuji quickly snap out of his 'dealt a critical damage with stone' and prepare for the incoming attack.

Today,he will play safe. He decided to search for easy mobs for lesser risk. From his experience,smaller mob means easier fight,although there will be less challenge.

"Challenge.Right. If I can revive after die maybe I will go fight the Floor Boss even if my level is 1."
"But then again,that is a stupid thing to do."

Realizing how stupid he is for a while,he decide to cast away those thinking and focus on searching. It's not long before he found his desired target.

"Alright small boar,time for a revenge for what you have did yesterday"
"Now,if what I read from the beta tester forum,they said that you can do something like this..."

He pick up a small stone near his feet and focus on the boar. Then he throw the stone at his target. Blue trajectory follow the stone as it fly to the boar.

He walk steadily toward the north gate while looking around. Looks like there are less player today in the city. He assume that some people are brave for facing the reality and admire them for their courage. He question himself if he have that kind of courage.

"Well,it will develop slowly I hope."

Finally reaching the north gate,he take a deep breath and let it out before stepping out from the safe zone.

"Here I go."

Sunlight seek in from the window. He wake up lazily while stretching his arms forward. After eating a bread, he sit and think for a while.

"What should I do today...."
"I guess if I need to become stronger in this world,I need to train harder. Which means..."

His mind wander to the moment he fought yesterday. Thanks to his carelessness, he almost die fighting a level 1 Wild Boar. He shakes his head and slap his cheeks with both hands.

"Not today.This time I have prepare myself....a bit......"
"Well,no use sitting here forever"

He then make necessary preparation and go to the north gate.

His mind wander for a while,thinking that if he didn't play this game maybe he won't have this kind of fate.

"Mother...father..."

He cry quietly till he fell asleep....

The boar,who is now dead shatter into million shards of crystal (data fragment). He quickly sit on the ground,the tense from the combat just now leave his body. A window appear,congratulating him for the defeat of the mob just now.

He gets up,tidying himself. His combat shake doesn't seem to appear now. He hopes that with more battle his combat shake will go away. But for now,he think that he have enough for a day. Decided to go back,he walk back carefully. He don't want to bump with any monster now,considering his injury.

He tried to dodge,but because he is still learning,his reaction is a little slow. The boar's tackle connect and he can see his HP bar drop into the yellow zone.

"If this keeps up,I will..."
"No,I won't die.Not like this!"

He grip his sword tightly and rush to the boar,trying to deliver a heavy blow.He hope that his hit will connect.

The next morning,he gets up and set out for his battle system try out. On his journey to the north city gate, he can see that there are many players wander around. He try to approach them,but due to his shyness he hold back. Finally he reach the gate. He see a huge plain,green field that seems endless. The weather is perfect and windy,not that he have time to enjoy it though.

He explore the plain,but didn't go far from the city. If he want to run,he can quickly reach the safe zone. Sometimes he can see a few players fighting some mobs. 

It's not long before he spot something brown from far. He slowly approach it with his weapon drawn from the scabbard on his belt. The brown thing maybe notice him too because it is getting closer. He finally know that he will face a small boar when both of them are in combat range.

"A wild boar,maybe I can start from here. Now all I have to do is be careful.."

He quickly assume combat stance like the one he always see in the other MMORPG. Suddenly,his hand shake and he break into cold sweat.

"What will happen if I lose this battle..."
"What if I truly die..."

The boar who apparently got aggro by his approach,attack him. He realized the situation but it's a little bit too late..

Inside his room in the Inn,he lie down. He try to sleep but to no avail. He feel that the event just now was a bad dream. He thinks about his family, "Can I see them again... How i wish for their warmth...". Death in this game means death in real world. Although it may not be true,he is not brave enough to test that fact.  He try to calm down for a while,inhale,exhale,jump from the bed,lie down again and sometimes punch the wall.

Finally regaining his composure,he then think what he should do next.

"Staying here forever won't get me anywhere.But going outside without experience would spell death."
"Hmm...that said,how do you battle a monster...."
"Maybe I should go to the nearest area outside the city tomorrow,just to learn this battle system....it's better than lying in this bed forever..."

The thought of battling a monster makes him shiver.His hand shakes;he quickly clench it to make it stop. After thinking for a while,he finally yawn and think that it's time for him to sleep.

»About: History

Born and raised in an average family, 18 years old Sakai Yuji is a high school student with normal life. He often question himself why this world is so 'normal',why can't this world have 'magic' and 'monster'. He wanted to escape from this kind of life. One day,his father bought him a game console. From there,he started playing games and found himself enjoying it especially if the game have RPG element in it. This happen during his childhood and he grew up with games as his partner.
Being the only male child in his family,he felt lonely. His three other sister doesn't want to play games with him too. He quietly curse himself for this kind of fate. Despite that, he doesn't hate his sister or blame his parents for this kind of life.
In school,he is an average student. His academic result is not that good or bad either. He have friends,no girlfriends and sometimes get bullied by the bullies. A very normal occurrences for any students. For him,school is a place to meet his friends and that's all there is to it. He can't wait to go home and sit in front of the monitor playing his game.

He can't forget that fateful day where he stumbled upon SAO game. He always heard of one game that is mind blowing,but is too lazy to check it out. He found SAO while checking the forums. He regretted not founding it earlier,because that was still in beta testing and he could apply to become a beta tester. Not that he will be chosen though,as he is confident people like him won't be pick (he believe that he have bad luck too). Not giving up, he keep track of the game everyday,hoping that it will be released soon.

Finally,the wait is over....

»Virtues:

(Kind). To him, being kind is a must, He always help people who need his help without considering the difficulty of the request itself. He also give out item such as potion when people need it in some of the other MMORPG he played. He hope that he can get more friend with this.

(Adaptable). It doesn't matter how harsh the environment is,how terrible the community is; all he have to do is learn how to live in the said environment. However,it takes time for him to learn because he is not perfect. 

(Obedience).When it comes to order or request, one can depend on him. He will carry it out with no whining. However,due to this type of nature he can't become a leader (not that he want to). It is fine for him though as he feel that  being ordered around is better than leading people around. 

 

»Flaws:
(Shy). Despite being kind and helpful, he doesn't go seeking people who need help. He doesn't have many friend because of this flaw. He want to get more friend,join raid party and join guild. But he can't. His shy nature is form due to his lack of confidence in socializing; English is not his mother tongue and he can't initiate a conversation nor can he engage in a long conversation. Due to this, solo play become a common thing for him; seeing people with their friends from afar with sadness in his heart.

(Ambitious). Every people have one or two ambitious thing they want to achieve. He have ALOT of it. From becoming the best player in all the MMORPG he played to getting the best item in the game. Despite having this 'ambition', he never work towards it. In the end, he always wonder which one he will achieve first. All the thinking will affect his decision in his gameplay and the effect is not great at all. Due to this, he will often wander from his original goal. 

(Superstitious). He believed that in all the game he played,there are some sort of 'mystery'. For example,he often think that there will be a human-like-NPC that gives out great reward to those who help him/her or somewhere in the game there will be a beautiful girl waiting for him so that they can play together. This kind of thinking makes him adventurous, which is kinda good. But the time he use to search for that superstitious thing is better use for leveling,considering he spent many times in pointless thing.

(Lonely). A trait he hate the most, yet he is experiencing it. He try to convince himself that he's not alone, but in the end the emotion overwhelm him. After trapped in SAO, it gets worse as he brought it upon himself. It won't be long before he succumb to his loneliness. .

He didn't lie when he say that this is the best game he ever played. The first thing he do after he jump into this game is to feel despair and hopelessness. Never would he thought that he will be trapped inside a game. On top of that, death here means death in real world. Still, he felt that he can do it, he can beat the game along with the other player inside the game.

»The Story Begins: First chapter

The first thing he do is to conquer his fear and at the same time learn how to adapt in this world. Adapting is something he can do naturally. After a week he finally manage to learn the way of survival in this game. His fear however still lingers in his heart. Slowly he overcomes it, and up until this day he fight on with little to none fear whatsoever inside him.

Yuji think that without a friend or someone he can rely on, he can't survive this world. That was true, and so he when around to look for players he can interact with. He doesn't want to stand out nor does he want to talk with female player because he is shy.He met with many people and in the end, he met with Mari, the first player he found in game. Despite the first player he met is female, he doesn't have any problem to interact with her. However he face with his first problem during the time he's in the bar with Mari and Casanova. He gives the wrong impression on one of the female player there, name's Lessa or something and in latter event, he manage to somehow burden her and pushing her around.

 

Till this day, he still doesn't ask for her forgiveness. Same goes to other player who he feel guilty, either with his action or what he say to them.

»Third chapter

Yuji join a guild established by Mari with the name Cerulean Silence. He feels uncomfortable at first, but most of the member at the moment consist of male (with the exception of Mari). Therefore he try to convince himself that this is for his own sake. After getting involve with the guild, his shyness towards other player decrease a little. Still, it's kind of awkward when he talk to some of them. Still, Mari promotes him to Second In Command of the guild, which makes him happy...at first.

 

He knows he won't be in that position for long. Something to do with how he can't lead others in case Mari hands over the leadership to him in case of something happens to her.

»Fourth Chapter

He feel the need to become stronger. The reason he did this is because he remembered something from his past...made when he is still a child. Fighting and facing death everyday makes him remember that as certain memory flash through him at the brink of his life. The girl he promise to find...where he will guard her with his life.

 

Trapped inside, he knew that promise can't be fulfilled. He take many quest and go through hell to make himself stronger. His blacksmith profession helps him to get equipment easily as he didn't have the col to buy weapon or armor. The fight for Floor 10 will soon begin and they will be facing Hydra this time. Hyped, he grind non-stop everyday, abandoning his social need. 

 

Little did he realize this will cost him greatly.

»Fifth Chapter

One day till the fight with Hydra will begin. He felt that he lose everything. It all start form the moment he lose at the first round of the tournament. The bet favors his opponent. His opponent is strong, therefore betting for him is something logical. Yet he feel weak,he feel that he already lost the duel. To make it worse, his opponent shows much arrogance, confident that he will win which irritates Yuji. He didn't say it out loud, he show it with his sword that he could win.

 

Yet he lose. All the training are for naught. He slowly his personality,who he really is. He is getting impatience, he desire for strength. He hold back his dark feeling, he doesn't want to become an enemy to everyone.

 

He can't afford to die in the battle tomorrow. That is why he let loose his emotion at Floor Nine today. He want everyone to know that he is sorry for his action. He know he is losing his characteristic slowly. He scream for help...waiting for someone to help him.

 

In the end, loneliness stare at his face. He decided to go to sleep and just put on his usual emotion for tomorrow's fight. He did promise himself something if he manage to get out alive from the boss fight tomorrow.

 

"I will correct my mistake. I will gain back my personality,who I really am. I might bored people, but I won't stop trying until they accept me.
