Epyon accepted the trade request. "If you're sure. I'll find a way to repay you." He gave the new sword a few test swings. "Feels good, definitely better than the starting weapon." He set the item to equipped. "Are we ready then?"

"I'm good, and you?" He thought about her questions. "Well, it seems boars are what everyone starts with, and they don't seem too difficult, they sound like a good target. as for gear, All I have is my sword. I'd don't have any money yet to buy new gear."

After his slightly unsettling encounter with a group of players not long ago, Epyon set out to try and find a mob to kill. He hadn't yet tried to kill anything and was excited for his first battle. Just to be cautious, He'd invited another player he'd encountered while leaving the city, Celesmeh.

Hi,
I'm new to forum RP, though not to RPG's in general. I've read through the tutorials and combat is still a bit of a mystery to me. I was wondering if anyone would care to assist a new player in game and help show me the ropes to really get started.
-
Epyon smiled as he turned to head out into the wilderness. "That's the best way to do it." He said before turning away. He took his first steps toward whatever fate, or the game, might bring him.
-
Epyon surveyed the crowd. There didn't appear to be any imminent danger, however Tyrius did still seem distraught. Having been in similar situations IRL, Epyon knew that telling Tyrius what he should and shouldn't do wasn't the answer. In these kinds of situations, is better to be a friend then a boss or parent. As much as he didn't like social situations, here was some one who might need his help, or might not, best let him decide.
"Hey, Tyrius, what do you want to do?" He called to him.
-
Epyon sighed. "I guess we all need help sometimes. Look at me, this is my first venture outside the safety of the city. Normally I wouldn't want help, but I'd be stupid to turn it down." Epyon looked off in the distance. "I'm looking to start training so I can become stronger, so that I wont need help." He looked left and right, trying to decided which way to go that might lead to a fight with some low level mobs.
-
Epyon walked down the path, intent on finally leaving the city set to explore and train. It was about time. He hadn't left the starting city before, he was eager to, but didn't want to run into too many people on his first time out. He'd been walking for a while when he heard voices up ahead. He stopped and listened for a moment, he didn't want to run into PK's on his first trip out. The conversation made it sound like someone needed help. He decided if someone needed help, he would if he could, however it didn't seem like this was the kind of problem that could be solved with a blade...
"Is everything alright here?" He said to the group gathered on the path.

«Epyon» Courtesan of Death
» Username: Epyon
» Real name: Aiden
» Age:24
» Gender:Male
» Height:1.8m
» About:Aiden grew up the youngest of three boys. His early life was hard, between living in the seedier part of town and dealing with his older brothers, he got into a lot of fights. His father left before he could remember him. After high school, he followed his older brothers example and joined the military. After six years and four deployments, he was ready to get out. Getting out on the other hand, was much easier said then done. He had troubles re-integrating in civilian life. A friend of his from the army suggested he try VRMMORPG's in order slowly readjust with out risk of incident. So he bought SAO as his first game and logged in shortly after it released.
» Virtues:
Relentless: He refuses to give up or retreat, unless it risks the lives of others. He views retreat as failure, which is never an option in his mind. His time in the military taught him that to retreat is to be shot in the back. After witnessing first hand this happen IRL, he never turns his back to an enemy, even to run.
Selfless: While he doesn't tend to work with others, when he does, he will never leave them behind. He will even rush into combat if it means saving them, even at the cost of his own life. While deployed, he watch several fellow soldiers take hits, and feels he might have saved them, if only he had rushed to their side, even though the risk of he himself getting hit was high. Since then he has always rushed in to help someone in need.
Ambidextrous: He learned he was ambidextrous at an early age, which often got him into trouble with his teachers as his hand writing changed randomly, sometimes in the middle of sentences. His teachers thought he was having someone else do his work. After discovering the truth, he used his talent often, especially in sports. He played baseball and would often change pitching hands as to confuse batters and strike them out.
» Flaws:
Combat Junkie: He often rushes to combat, feeling more alive with his life on the line then when in any kind of social interaction. Many have said he is an adrenalin addict, others that he's suicidal. Neither is true.Cold: He feels very uncomfortable in social situations, often seeming aloof if forced to be in them. He speaks in short sentences that are to the point, often with no regard with the feelings of others. Most find him unsettling to be around for extended periods of time,
Reckless: If he sees someone in danger, he will rush in to save them. When alone he is calculating, careful to weigh the options of a combat encounter, but when with others he throws caution to the wind.

Story Thus Far
»When the GM appeared in the starting city, he realized a major difference between him self and most of the other players. Most were terrified of being trapped in the situation, he felt exhilarated, his life was on the line and it was just another mission...

"Sounds good to me, but only if I need it, ok? I want to do as much on my own as I can." Epyon followed her into the fields, keeping his eyes out for any potential threats. Despite his normally stoic demeanor, he couldn't help but enjoy the company and assistance Celes offered. He found himself smiling, if ever so slightly. 'It's probably just the anticipation of the fight to come' He thought to himself.
