Axios Deminence

He sure knows how to fight. Maybe, I can do something for him later in the future. Maybe we could become friends. Not just that status thing. "Let's go", Axios said, smiling at the fact that he Rusty had regained his confidence and life in a short amount of time.

 

Walking outside of Starting City, they continued to follow the path when Axios started to apologize once more, "I'm sorry for being a nuisance to you, I'll try to stay out of your way and try to not get us in more trouble that we're already-" Axios was cut off by the sight of a boar a bit farther down the road to the right, in some sort of valley/ditch between two hills. "Let's see what I can do", Axios started to say while bringing out his knife from it sheath. I need to hit it... Just to prove that I can do something. As soon as Axios got close enough for the boar to charge at him, the boar caught Axios in its sights. Axios, readying himself for the impact brought his knife in front of him. When the boar rammed into Axios, Axios was barely able to land a hit on the boar and not a very strong one at that.

 

Did... Did I do anything? Axios looked up at the boar and noticed that it had more health than he had ever seen before, at least to himself. "Watch out!", Axios called out to Rusty. Seeing the boar having twice as much maximum health than the last two.

"Yeah, let's just rest for a bit...", Axios replied while taking a seat on the floor. Looking up at Rusty, he started apologizing, "I'm sorry for bringing you out into these deadly situations, if you want to leave then it's all right by me. I'll give you whatever col I can get while gathering these materials, but I won't be able to give you that other reward." What else did I promise him? What was on that paper? "So... How did you find the paper?", Axios asked Rusty while looking at the gate and then switching his focus to a hill that he found on the plains. "I mean, if you don't mind my asking."

"Nothing is wrong with me", Axios told Rusty with a straight face. "Look, if you want help all you have to do is ask. Who is this guy? That's when Axios remembered his poster that he put up and how he met the man, including all of the events that happened that day. "S**t, Rusty... Look let's get you back to Starting City. I forgot about what happened... Don't ask me why..", Axios quickly rambled while taking Rusty's arm over his neck as to help support him. After seeing Starting City as a tiny dot on the horizon, Axios asked Rusty, "You all right? You won't die on me?" We barely got 2 boar hide... We still need 3 boar hide, 3 cotton, and 2 spiderweb. "Tell me if you want to take a break or anything."

"Look, just don't force yourself. If you wanna try to get back to Starting City than do so, I'll be right behind you", Axios encouraged... Gosh dangit... What's his name? Why is he hurt so badly? "Look, I don't know what happened but... Let's get you somewhere safe. We can try to get to Starting City, but we might run into some toxic players or some of the boars that roam around here", Axios finished while looking around during his last sentence as to keep an eye out. "Also, don't try to force it because you may not notice the difference but it'll slowly increase. You're probably not going to notice it since you were in the red zone for as long as I remember..." I feel like I should remember this guy... Axios started looking at the man and wondered why he can't remember anything. "Excuse me... But do I know you from somewhere?"

"I'd rather we not move at all for a while", Axios tried to convince... What was his name again??? "I mean, you're pretty messed up... You almost died. If you don't mind me asking... What's your name again?", Axios asked the man starting to walk away. "Also, if we keep on going back to Starting City, we may run into a boar. It'll be better just to stay for a while so you can regain your strength.

"It's no use to either of us if you die off! You'll die and it'll be on my conscience!", Axios yelled out still sitting on the hill. I'll have to go with him won't I? "Hey!", Axios continued, "At least let me come with you. At least then if we meet a boar I can help you out. Also there's a few PKers that roam around this floor so they can easily kill people, wouldn't want that happening would we?."

"RUSTY!!!", Axios yelled out while sprinting towards his friend on the ground. Rusty, almost looked lifeless, a pale look on his face. However, Axios didn't need to see his face to know that he's almost dead, mainly because of the health bar in his UI due to their party mechanics and on his user. Axios tried to turn Rusty over, pushing with all of his might trying to get a better look at his face. "Are you okay Rusty? At the very least talk or groan...", Axios pleaded Rusty. I won't be able to defend the two of us if any boars or PKers come by... "Come on Rusty, upsy-daisy", Axios muttered to himself while trying to lift up Rusty. How much does this guy weigh? Axios, with some time, was able to get Rusty onto the top of a hill. "Don't worry, we'll be able to see any boars from here, and hopefully they can't scale this hill that easy..."

"Go and take a break for a while Rusty I'll try and keep him busy", Axios tried to assure Rusty. I'm almost certain now that I won't be able to hit him, but if I can distract him long enough for Rusty to recuperate... That's all we'll need. Once again, Axios decided to attack; only this time was he lowering his stance. Still in the forehand position, he focused on the boar. "Rusty, I don't think it'll be able to kill us both, but our best chance of survival is you. If you die we both die, if I die you have a chance at survival. Just, rest for a while before anything else", Axios told Rusty before leaping off once again. This time, barely missing the boar, almost grazing the skin and tufts of fur. S**t... Please let it be enough to provoke it... I can't let someone die because of me... "Rusty, if it starts to try and attack you, strike first. If it attacks me, it's your decision."

Here goes nothing... Axios leaped towards the boar, trying to attempt to at least hit it once. However, he leaped too far ahead of the boar landing behind him and stumbling forward a bit onto the base of the hill. "Great... Just my luck...", Axios muttered to himself. "I can't do anything today..." Looking back, he saw Rusty at a condition a bit better than him but he realized that the two wouldn't be able to go much longer if they continued these battles. It's all because of me... "We should take a break after this to recover, just in case", Axios yelled out to Rusty hoping he would accept. Accuracy, speed, and probably more damage is what I need... That would probably be the best for me being a knife user...

Why wasn't there a leprechaun holiday boss?

"You alright?", Axios calls out to Rusty who was doubling over and groaning in pain. A few feet away from Rusty, Axios saw the boar. I don't think I'll be able to kill it in one hit... But if I can distract it... "Don't worry, we'll deal with this one soon enough!", Axios told Rusty before charging the boar. Piercing its back, Axios wasn't able to get a good, deep cut on the boar due to his current forehand position. Quickly jumping backwards, he went to help Rusty up. "You ok?"

"I'm ok... I just wasn't prepared", Axios said when he saw Rusty sitting next to him. Getting up, Axios took out his knife once more. While getting his knife, he saw virtual cuts all over his body; half-expecting that there should have been a lot more visible damage. "Hah...", Axios chuckled to himself. The boar was going to head towards Rusty now ((I'm planning to apply some use of the hate system if you don't mind. Tell me if you don't)) after that attack. It was Axios' turn to do the damage. Looking down at his knife he muttered, "Knife... Don't fail me now...", before switching it to a forehand position and running at the boar. The boar couldn't do much, except watch, as Axios slid under the boar and did a quick jab straight into its underside.

Despite his fancy antics, he was barely able to pierce the board due to the lack of room. But it was enough. A notification popped up revealing dropped items for Axios. One boar hide and also 25 Col. "Yes!", Axios yelled out before remembering about Rusty. "We got 1 boar hide and also 25 Col. We could split it if you want, but next time you could engage the boar", Axios informed Rusty.

"My name is Axios Deminence... Nice to meet you", Axios replied when he looked forward and saw that the man they were after had knocked into another player. The worst part of it was that the man decided not to worry about the player and just ran off into a different alleyway. "I'm going to make sure that whoever he knocked down is alright. You can go ahead if you want", Axios told Date waiting for his response. This day just gets crazier, crazier, and even crazier...

Stopped a year ago... I used to have an Azorius deck and had a killer combo if I was able to pull it off. It included the emblem from Venser where you exile a permament when you use a spell (so basically almost everything in the game), into the void (return a creature from the field to the player's hand), and archeomancer (get instant/sorcery from the graveyard or whatever it's called to your hand).

Basically this is the combo that would go: get the emblem, already have into the void used, use archeomancer, get into the void back, use it to get archeomancer back, use archeomancer, get into the void back...

I got people pissed off at the combo...

((So 2v1's against boars? If not, tell me. Also, I understand.))

After unsheathing his dagger at the right side of his hip, Axios then replied to Rusty saying, "Let's go then. And hope we don't get killed."

After traveling for a bit on a main road, Axios spotted a lone boar on top of a small hill. "I'll go get it over here", Axios informed Rusty but soon enough the boar spotted him. Almost the exact moment Axios stepped off of the path, the boar started charging straight towards him and perfectly landing a hit on him. Not being prepared this early on, Axios could do nothing but brace for impact which was inevitable. On contact, the boar immediately sent Axios flying into the air and caused him to land straight on his head. Where Axios landed, all you could here were moans of pain and the following, "You go ahead..."

((My god... So first time I try to do combat I got a BD of one. This second time the boar got a MD of 10... Time to go do a worship pyre for the dice gods...))

"My name is Axios Deminence", Axios said. "Of course it is... You might've seen it on the form and that's how you found me, huh? Sorry...", Axios apologized. Axios swiped his hand down in a fluid action to open up the menu, and started searching for the place to send requests for since he's never sent one. He's usually the one accepting them... After a while, he found the request system and sent Rusty both a party and friend request.

"If you don't mind of course...", Axios started. "Now, let's go and try to tackle some boars! Metaphorically... I don't want to get skewered... Now, let's go and hopefully not die while gathering the materials!"

((You want to run the mobs or me? They'll need to do 1 DMG, if I recall correctly, for boars and need 5 HP for the materials and any other loot to drop.))

Axios was wandering around per usual when a player came up to him and then asked him what they needed to find. Axios started wondering about what had just happened when he remembered about his notice. "Oh! You're here about that my notice right? Ok then, we need 5 boar hides, 2 spiderweb fragments, and 3 pieces of cotton", Axios informed the player. "Who are you?", Axios asked while walking alongside with him.

Walking around the square of Starting City, he looked at all the different stands, shops, and even the ocassional performer that could be found around the corner. Mainly the numerous stands that randomly dotted the area. They were mostly NPCs selling goods, like foods and other items. He didn't see a lot of fish though, but Axios reasoned that there was something a different reason for it. I don't think I've heard of a lot of water in any of the cleared floors yet...

Walking around, he saw that the shops mostly consisted of blacksmiths. Looking inside, he saw assortments of clocks on the walls and at the back a forge. However, he couldn't see that as what he wanted to do, or get. Axios was a man of supply and demand. If he couldn't meet the supply, there would be no use of meeting the demand; knowing the demand, he could figure out what he could supply them with.

Walking around, he talked to some of the owners of the stands. Some, were obviously NPCs, just by talking to them they had a pattern. Some, he couldn't tell. That's when something caught his eye. A stand full of clothes, both for fanciness and utility work. He just couldn't resist going and looking at the magnificence of the work. Going up to the stand, almost running towards it, he asked the woman running the shop, "These are really beautiful." Looking up at the woman, she was smiling right at him and Axios started, "I'm terribly sorry... I don't think I could afford these... No... I'm positive I couldn't afford these. I have nothing as of right now." However, she was still smiling. "I can't repay you in any way. I have no job, no nothing." As Axios was beginning to wonder whether or not this was a broken NPC or a really stupid player, a notification popped up.

"Well, it would be a shame if I won't be able to pass on my teachings to someone wouldn't it?", the NPC said. "My name is Fatnadur." After further inspection the notification described a quest that would allow Axios to become a tailor. After pushing the accept button, Fatnadur said, "Firstly, don't make fun of my name. Respect it as you would respect me and my clothing. Secondly, you'll need some of the following things. 3 cotton, 2 spiderweb, and 5 boar hide.", Fatnadur started saying with Axios cringing at the word spider.

After thanking Fatnadur for the help, Axios realized that he would need help. He was extremely weak and wouldn't be able to do it by himself. He decided that the easiest place to get help would be the frequently visited taverns/inns. That's it, I'll just make a poster requesting for help! After getting sidetracked probably every other hour, Axios finally did it. A poster was up in a notification board on every inn and tavern saying the following:

Help wanted.

Material gathering/hunting.

Find and/or message a player named Axios (Deminence) if you accept.

Reward: First craft created in shop for the shop.

"Not much... That I remember at least... What I know is that Starting City is in the epicenter of this floor and that there are vast plains surrounding it. The plains aren't very good for hiding and boars catch up to you easily so I haven't been able to make it far yet.", Axios started. "I've heard of some quests here and there for quite a bit of items and if you want specialty items, go ahead and buy some. Easiest way I can think of.

"Oh... And the wolves. I haven't seen them in person, and I don't want to in a while. Also, this floor is where a lot of PKers pass by. Not sure why, except possibly wanting to easily kill people...", Axios finished when he looked up. "I'm not an information broker. Best thing I can tell you is to find some strong people. The guy you just met might be one. You should go and ask him for help. I'll go with you." Axios started getting up after finishing up his jug of water and the loaf of bread. As soon as these two start talking, I could possibly get one of the two to get me some actual food... I hate my bread and water... That was when the man ran out. Axios, starting to realize that this was becoming a bit of a one-sided conversation after explaining everything that he remembered to Date, said, "Let's go after him... I'll be right behind you."

"Ya, I don't mind", Axios replied to the player that came over from the table with the man staring out the window. "Lemme guess, he's the kind who doesn't like to have company. It's best to not bug him too much. I haven't seen a fight start in a while. Let alone in Starting City. Last time I remembered one was...", Axios trailed off. "Never mind that. What do you need? Just to let you know, I'm basically broke and have nothing to give you. So unless you want bread or water, I can't give much to you..." What does this guy want? Either he's looking for something or someone. He wouldn't have been going from him to me unless so... Either that or he just really wants to talk...

"Are you sure you can't just give me a small part of the meal", Axios tried to haggle with the NPC taverns keeper.

"No", the NPC replied again. The same way he always did. In the same monotone voice, even though many of the other NPCs had a bit more colorful personality. Axios, finally beginning to realize that persuading the NPC was not going to work, goes into the corner taking some bread and water out of his inventory. Right before he was going to eat the same food that has been getting him going since this death game has started, the door opened. A tall sword-user was entering, a bit eager to be in this place. Most of the players there, and maybe some of the NPCs, usually hung out around these taverns to forget what was happening.

While still looking at the sword-user, Axios took a bite out of his bread and a swig of the water. Has this guy already visited a tavern and drink a bit?

((Excuse me if I'm using the word taverns in a different way than most do. It's just that I was usually taught that taverns were a public living space. Also Date, you learned the one-handed straight sword but use a two-handed straight sword?))

"Ya! Sorry 'bout that", Axios called out to Szu. I guess he's either one of those denying this death game, or he is a genuinely nice person... You don't see too many around here... Axios began to run out into the field, taking his first steps outside of Starting City. "I got this!", Axios said getting ready to attack the boar, drawing his knife out, and then fumbling it high into the air. "Ya know what... I'll let you guys kill that one boar, I'll take on the next one...", Axios said, his face getting red with embarassment while he was going to get his knife back.

When they were talking, Axios was still trying to remember and try to make some sense of what his day was going to be. He got lost in thought and didn't notice where they were until they were already gone. Axios, desperate to ask them more questions or possibly to venture outside of Starting City, began to run towards the exit yelling every minute or so, "Wait for me!" Doing so, he attracted a lot of attention from NPCs and players alike, the kind where someone would look at you and think you were crazy. However, Axios didn't care the smallest bit. He was just focused on finding Noctis and Szuriex possibly somewhere near the exit of Starting City.

 

Axios saw two little dots in the horizon, one smaller than the other. Considerably smaller. Both on the cobblestone path. He couldn't remember well how tall they were but he assumed that one of them wasn't a midget... Then again, he couldn't really remember that well. "Wait up!", Axios called up again before tripping and sliding in front of the pair.

"I was talking to... Nevermind...", Axios began to say. "I just swing it around a few times, sometimes towards some bags full of flour. Never was able to get out there...", he continued while looking towards the nearest gate. "I'm here... Since I am, I guess. Nothing special. Just wanted to play.

 

"How about you Noctis and... The other guy...", Axios finished while switching his hold on his knife.

"Uh... Whatever your name is... I use a basic knife as my main and only weapon thus far", Axios started saying while taking out the knife from its sheath. "That's a bit of the reason why I was worried about you cutting me down Noctis, you would have easily killed me. Thanks for pointing that out though, I'll keep that in mind." This guy sure does like to ask a lot of questions... "What about you?", Axios questioned the man whose name still escapes him.

"Mhm... Okay...", Axios said a bit cautious with my words due to his hand's on a blade. "I seriously do you no harm... Can you not rest your hand on the hilt like you're ready to stab me? I mean... I haven't seen anyone able to die in the Starting City but... I haven't seen anyone fight... I think...", he continued pondering on my thoughts. "Also... sorry about that... Didn't realize there was someone else other than us 3", he then looked back and forth the 2 speakers. "So basically... The best thing to do is to be partnered with a couple of other players?

 

"Name's Axios Deminence. And all of you are?", I said taking a step back and then extending my hand out for a handshake.
