how ever they could still technically complain even though Mari has given approval in this thread for it to happen I just think a rule would be best  because having a post limit for rewards set by each thread owner can be abused maliciously

You only really have a handful of chars atm that have a high chance of not dying during boss raids

they could set it up so that after so many posts inactive you get so stressed from Fear that you have a heart attack and die

I just think the penalty for being inactive in a boss thread should be higher

I personally think that players should be warned going inactive during a boss fight will result in a char death and if they are skipped twice the boss should focus all dmg on that character until they're dead or they come back from inactivity

I think it should be a standard rather then a rule set up by the creator of the thread that way its not up for debate because you could still get people who would message the staff saying its not fair unless it was a site wide rule

Well anime wise we don't really know everything that went on. Mostly do to skips. Though if we went with the games (Which I've never played) I'm sure all the levels are thought out with arenas ect. But I actually don't know. Either way there's a lot we don't know from the show or manga alone because it skips floors. So what's to say they didn't have that? (yes I know they don't respawn, monsters didn't either. Considering people complained about how there was nothing to kill because a guild took out the smaller mobs for exp, so that's an issue) I only say this so then people who come in lets say a year later when there are very few bosses left don't feel like they can't try their hand at it. 

I don't recall saying you got extra bonuses. So that's cool that you guys CAN die. Makes it more interesting. The trouble I have with GMs taking out bosses is that it overshadows players. Though I understand you're player moderators. Thus the title. You're kinda like that cool cat that knows everything and helps out the kiddies with their things but you're still the player. I've just been in a lot of table tops and forum rps where the GM plays a player and players use that as a crouch, or the GM becomes the focus and people lose interest. It's more a warning than anything. I'd hate for something like that to happen. 

Everyone is going to want to be at the front lines sooner or later. Again a few months from now newbies will join, and they might get discouraged they can't get leveled fast enough to do so. This is why I suggested placing them in the arena. This way everyone can have a chance of fighting the bosses.

I don't like the fact we can't ever face the boss again. EVER. One time only and it's done. You state you want to be close to the anime. Okay. Than there shouldn't be a limit because in the anime and manga they have armies take down bosses. Which would be bad for a forum rp because of posting, probably why we're having this poll. Ten and lower is more manageable with people missing turns. Instead of everyone on site trying to do it. This is why again I make the proposal of at LEAST placing the bosses inside the arena. This makes it a more fair environment for new comers later, and those who still wish to fight it. This is just my personal opinion. I'm not asking for a debate. Just that I'm heard.Th

The light novel does not skip floors the anime did it to save time and space other wise aincrad alone would of been 26 episodes long

Well does the 24 hour rule apply in all open public threads? Because 1 post per 24 hours is not very hard .As for people not being included you cant just join a thread an expect people to acknowledge your char cause joined people need to be more assertive with their role play. Also not to mention if they cant put out 5 posts with them being ignored/not included they're just being lazy

Its not hard to moderate at all actually... At the end of the thread the last posters counts up everyone's posts and posts them at the end of the thread along with the rewards all mods would have to do is check and see if the people mentioned have at least 5  or 7

Azazel: That is something I would like to implement in the next boss battle. 

Zephyr L: That is exactly why they aren't removed, and instead incur a 5 damage penalty; if you went inactive in a boss battle in SAO you'd probably die, same goes for this one. If i had it my way, and you were inactive for the whole fight, The person would be killed off, but that is too mean/extreme.

Its hardly mean unless they have good reasons like someone in their family died,house burnt down, ETC and not something like them just not feeling like rping  then they should lose their char if they go poof during a boss fight

Here is the issue right now I could literally post once in a OP thread and get a portion of the col and a SP point with out really contributing to a thread thus taking COL away from the players that earned it so Id like to propose a personal post limit outside the 1 page needed to get thread rewards of either 5 or 7 posts to be eligible for thread rewards once the thread hits its completion and has met the page requirements. 

The reason I am bringing this up is because I do not feel it is fair for 2 people to carry a op thread and 2-3 people only post once or twice and do none of the work yet reap all the benefits

Honestly they could remove people that get skipped too much but most times im SAO you could not leave  once the boss started unless you used a teleport stone and inactive people cant use them  so they're there until they start posting again or die

He smirked lightly at she was trying to make himself feel less like an alien by berating herself "Well you might be a tom-boy,but at least you're a very pretty tomboy" he said softly as he poked the fire with a stick and watched sparks shoot out of the top. He started laughing not at her but at how hard she was trying to make him feel like a normal human being when he knew he was far from normal. "Tell me does your skin seemingly glow in the moonlight?" he paused for effect " Do people call you vampire in a nickname sort of manner?" he said biting his bottom lip lightly." As for not being treated differently here i have already had three girls run from me screaming monster and most people give me odd or menacing looks." he said is a depressed tone of voice " So I am not too hopeful that the outcome will be any better in the near future. Unlike you It seems I cant escape the prejudice of the outside world like you have been able too." he said as he put bigger logs on the fire now that it had been going for some time. He watched her fall back in to the snow and proceed to make a snow angel. He was slightly confused as to the purpose of the snow angel but nonetheless she seemed to be fairly proud and happy about it.

Zephyr smiled when the menu cleared and Esmerelda's name popped up on his friends list. He had thought that she might possibly decline given her shy nature and tendency to want to avoid people and not socialize,but it all worked out in the end. She agreed with him on the aspect of death and that this game was ruined by it along with a bunch of peoples lives in the process, He wondered how many people had died so far and how many were actually left in the game as the game was a limited release and only so many nerve gear and copies were sold. Zephyr noticed that the rain had come to an abrupt and sudden in and so to did their conversation as he watched Esmerelda waste no time in departing back to the starter city only stopping to turn around to it was nice to meet you "Same to you." he shouted as he watched her turn around and run off towards the city disappearing over the hill. "Well, I guess ill go check out this land of ice and snow I have heard rumors about." he said out loud as he departed for the fourth floor.

Zephyr nearly choked on nothing when she mentioned she thought him being albino was exotic. He was not used to that hell most the time he was used to hearing freak or creature he could start to feel his cheeks warm again though he was not sure if it was the fire or him blushing, but there was no way he was gonna hide it this time with her sitting right next to him if he was indeed blushing. "Not worrying about it, is easy for you to say... you're normal." he said flatly pausing before he continued "I doubt you have been called freak or creature either." he said sighing figuring she was just saying what she did in hopes that it would garner false hope something zephyr did not care for or believe in. He made an attempt to changed the subject by joking about the snowball fight " Well, unless you wanna see a albino popsicle snowballs are not a great idea." he said in a joking manner forcing a smile as he had made a joke at his own expense. " I would rather not talk about how I got my fire building skills to someone I barely know." he said sharply as if old wounds long closed had been opened by that question.

Zephyr smirked slightly at how far he had managed to push her on a social aspect in a matter of minutes perhaps he would not have to drag her kicking and screaming out of her shell after all. "Sounds good to me as well." he said as he waved his hand bringing up his menu and sending her a friend request. Zephyr scratched the back of his neck in a rather nervous manner as he waited for her to accept, but instead of accepting she asked him a odd question about what he thought of the game. That perplexed in several different ways as in reality this was really nothing more then a game but at the same time dying here meant your life on the outside as there was no such thing as re spawns in this game and quite a few people had already died. " It has its good and bad aspects." he said pausing " The good part is most of what you experience is real to life but the flip side of that coin is death here means death on the outside too." he said in a slightly sad but serious tone.

Zephyr spying some fairly dry wood under a near by tree took the chance to collect it giving his cheeks a chance to return to their creamy white color. He shook his head while he gathered wood he had never been so embarrassed in his life nor had he ever been that misunderstood either. Today just seemed to be full of firsts it only left him wondering what else could go wrong or right but he hoped for the later as today was already off to a bad start. He finished gathering the wood and proceeded to clear a spot in the snow where he could build a small fire and possible stop shivering as it was starting to get on his nerves. He finally finished arranging the wood in a proper manner skills he had picked up while living in an orphanage and took two rocks he had found on the ground and struck them together creating sparks until the tinder caught fire. With a fire finally started he looked up at the girl who had a confused look on her face like she was deep in though about something before she snapped too saying she hopes he finds someone. " Ha ha, fat chance of that considering that being albino tends to equal little to no sex appeal with the ladies." he said forcing a smile not something he normally had to do as he almost always had a smile on his face unless someone mentioned his brother. He had just started to get warm by the fire when he heard Meokka mentions something about a snow ball fight and he cringed slightly at the thought. " Please.. no." he whined slightly " I happen to be deathly allergic to snowballs to the face." he said in a joking manner hoping to diffuse the situation and the possibility of also being wet and cold entirely.

Zephy listened to her speak on blacksmithing for what seemed like five minutes but in reality it was only a few seconds of his time. Not that it annoyed him or anything,but nonetheless she eventually apologized for rambeling on about blacksmithing."It's fine." he said with a smile but what came next had him reeling. It appeared that she had completely misunderstood him when he said he was looking for dating spots for someone. It apparently seemed like he was looking for places to take his girlfriend on dates,but before he could event attest to the fact that he did not have a girlfriend and was looking for someone else she rambled on about perfect dates spots and some place named teh Amethyst Boutique where he could buy a gift or present for his 'special someone. "Wait...." he said in a slightly exaspereated manner " I dont have a girlfirend." he said somewhat blushing that he actually had to admit that to a very pretty girl, but on the other hand this could play well into his advantage. " I mean can you think of anyone who would find all this attractive?" He asked her curiously as he motioned to his entire body being albino left him with little to no girls finding him attractive granted he was a huge flirt but very few girls had ever found him attractive. Feeling his cheeks warm he looked away using his attempt to find dry firewood as a way to hide the bright red color that clearly graced his cheeks which were clearly visible in the moonlight.

^ This is true. There are things in the works in terms of the mechanics of the forum, but right now we're still on Floor 10, only a tenth of the way there. More things are likely to come later on, but we will likely need to unlock them first.

 

Also make note that the point of this forum isn't the technical stuff, but the roleplaying itself. It may become a hassle for people if they're constantly needing to be number crunching every time they got into combat. There may be a better solution down the line, but for now this is complex enough to keep things interesting, yet simple enough that new players can still catch on fairly quickly.

Zephyr shook his head smiling slightly " Yes but you can be social when its comes to books." he said laughing a bit " You can discuss the book if both people are reading the same book.. You can talk about likes,dislikes,favorite characters, and many many other things about them." he said he a light and cheery manner "That is the great thing about social interaction is that it can be applied to almost any situation." he said as he stood up and stretched some sitting down for long periods made him sore. He chuckled lightly at her rebuttal about not being a stalker " I swear im gonna get you out of that shell.. even if i have to drag you out kicking and screaming." he teased  deciding not to even touch on the cats go your tongue comment. zephyr noticed she was torn between confusion and embarrassment he seemed to perplex to the point where she seemed broken. He wondered if this had been the most social contact she had ever had up to this point in her life until he realized she took his teasing a little too seriously "Wait, lets start off with just being friends before we start talking about watching someones back." he said in a slightly serious tone.

Zephyr nodded to the newcomer but decided he was better off not introducing himself for now as he watched Esmerelda disappear behind a tree only to peek out moments later.

 

Zephyr blinked a few more times some what confused by the way she spoke and how she rambled on about random things. She spoke of sapphires and snow and various other things i made him wonder if she was some kind of jeweler, but she answered that question a moment later by stating she was a blacksmith but that still did not explain the need for sapphire. "Why does a blacksmith have need of Sapphires?" he asked curiously. He was still as confused as he was a few seconds ago even more so when she seemed genuinely concerned about his well being " I...err.um .... well I was not sleeping...." he said pausing slightly embarrassed " I was .... errm ... looking or potential spots to take girls on dates for someone." he said in a seemingly flustered manner as his eyes darted around the area for some dryish firewood. It slightly irked him that she felt the need to worry about his well-being even though she barely knew him it was something he was not very used to as people were generally cold,callous,and indifferent upon first meeting someone. She,however was not she was nearly the exact opposite which slightly scared him .
