  1. The woman just nodded and nodded at everything, following behind. She wasn't comfortable enough to start spewing out questions and what if's all over. She didn't want to make the poor boy uncomfortable like this. She'd hopefully figure out a way to do this. So they needed to pick materials now. But... what materials? What did Lucia need to find now? Yeah, things like heaps of alloy and all that, but would she even find that behind a bush or tree out here? Lucia shuffled through bushes, looked by trees, things like that. Sighing, she moved to ask him a question. "Sooo... what things do beginner's collect out here? Other than food and water." All she needed was an answer to get looking. She'd make sure to keep every detail in memory as well, so she wouldn't need to ask all these questions. Lucia needed to know what was useful around here that would boost her level in a way. Whilst at it, Lucia shuffled through to find cut up wood. Don't know how to use that unless she became an artisan.

  2. The female raised a brow as she peered at the male, from the corners of her eyes. She was minding her own business, she'd like to say, desperate to find something nice to feed herself. If only he could walk away for the moment, so she could stick her hand into the pond and wrestle for a fish. But hey, it was SOMETHING at least. Lucia knew that this embarrassment would go away after a while. People started somewhere, and people had their own special kind of stupid. In her case, greediness and temptation to buy things left and right. hat was the only reason why she wound up like this. Quite frankly, the more she brought it up, the worse it made herself feel. Perhaps it was just time to do instead of think. Averting her gaze, Lucia gently dipped her hand into the water, debating on whether or not she should stick her whole arm in the rather frigid water. She bailed out, and was about to get up so she could move along. However, she witnessed some 'entertaining' moments unfold before her.

The same man was in the process of discomfort due to her presence, and she knew that very well. So, there was a wide distance between the two. It looked like he was trying to compose himself, but she could be getting it wrong. He'd slap the side of his head, shaking all his negative emotions off as he glanced her way. At first, Lucia looked a bit concerned, despite that it wasn't her business at all. She'd glance at him from afar, arms crossed. Yeah, she should just mind her business and walk off. So she did, retracing her steps until she was a good distance behind him, resorting to the berry bush in the end. Or so she had thought. A splash of water had hit Lucia lightly, causing her to look back.

She'd raise a brow as the man dived into the water, frantically reaching out for his fishing pole. She didn't question him, she just found it a bit odd how he'd be willing to dive for just a fishing rod. Okay, it's probably her fault she was there. But still, Lucia wanted to stick around a bit longer to see how things would turn out, inviting herself into the situation as she sat down beside the edge of the water. With a slightly entertained expression, she'd prop her chin over her palms. Probably he'd need help getting back up with a heavy lure in his hand.

As entertaining as the situation was, Lucia needed to get it together and stop fooling around. Her first encounter was good enough to learn a few tips and tricks, albeit it was humiliating. Now she took the liberty of watching a man dive for his fishing supplies. Honestly, what are responsibilities? What are goals? The world may never know. Currently, the woman didn't like what Aincrad was doing to her.

  3. So it was within the first week or so since the death game had started. It was only a week ago since she was back home with her friends, living life like a normal youngin should. Lucia, no... Mariya, was social and confident in her abilities. All she needed to do was study, and everything would be slowly handed to her. A good job, a wealthy life which awaited her, many acquaintances and so on, she liked to think her life was at the very least enjoyable. Her life wasn't anything too extravagant. Her parents were average, so was her life and herself even. But still, throughout her life, she could recall faint feelings of nostalgia that she'd love to relive. How much she had grown since she was a little child... Mariya could remember everything. But things took a downfall once the woman made a blind decision. That was, getting her hands on a copy of Sword Art Online.

The game seemed so tempting and too good to be real at first. Technology was growing far too much nowadays. To think humanity could go all the way to transport the mind's of players into a digital realm, paired with the ability to use all five senses to perform tasks. Mariya wasn't buying the description of the game, but decided to look up a few articles for the fun of it. Paired along with the realization this was all real, it truly was a phenomenon. And so she decided that she'd obtain this game. Mariya had a brief knowledge of gaming, she owned a few popular RPG titles since her previous lover had been insisting she tried it out. Sooner or later she was sucked into gaming, but wouldn't go to the lengths and describe herself as an avid fan. Simply, the woman had a good idea of what gaming is, and bought what her money could get her. So she waited in line to get her hands on a copy, hours even. She wound up as one of those people waiting outside the nearest gaming store to enter. Then, after a while of luck, swiftness, and a bit of fighting with others, she had a copy all to herself. She was pleased. But if only Mariya knew what was ahead of her, she'd place it back on the shelf and move along.

Here she was, as a confused and whimsical woman named Lucia. Her real intents of buying the game was only to simulate the feeling of another reality in general, she outright ignored the main objective of the game. Instead she spent her time observing all the realistic details, knowing that her procrastination wouldn't get her that far in the game. But the game seemed worth while from the good hour or two of exploration. Until it became a trap by the overloard of the game himself. They were stuck here now, they couldn't flee fate. As much as they tried to, it was impossible. Lucia was completely aware of the truth, and attempted to come to terms with herself.

She knew for a fact that moping would make no progress towards her freedom. And so, she decided to seal her emotions away, although it was under a week and she still had to get mentally situated. Her confidence and chattery habits were thrown out aat the moment, as she was struggling with her progress. Lucia was still iffy and self conscious about approaching random strangers, let alone knowing she needed a bit of anyone's help to get her started on the right foot. She needed a while before she could be herself again, she just needed COL, experience, and good combat skills. Currently, she only got it down by twenty percent.

Currently, Lucia was outside the starting city, boldly walking near the boars. She kept at a good distance away from their sight range, trailing along the far sides of the path to find herself something to forage. Her stomach grumbled, telling her to hurry up. Whilst sighing and approaching a berry bush, the female looked around one more time. Coast clear. The player busied herself as she plucked a few berries off of their vines, snacking on them before noticing something hidden by two large trees in particular. Curiously she dusted off her hands and decided to investigate it. Looking ahead, Lucia saw a beautiful body of water which harbored food, since she noticed a man collecting fish. Slowly, the player would make her way over to the pond, contemplating on whether or not she should go for fish. unfortunately, the female didn't have the fisher's skill on her list.

    ((Sooo tired. I'll reply tomorow!))

  4. She mentally facepalmed once he mentioned it. Of course, she totally knew that. Actually, she didn't think of material hunting at the moment, since her combat skills were poor already. The only thing she could do was forage or find a few things here and there to add to her inventory. But nonetheless, she didn't think about that first. "Ah, then let's do that instead." Lucia didn't speak too much, unable to openly admit her weaknesses. Albeit it seemed obvious by how she'd agree to everything he brought up. The boy already should've assumed the woman was a rookie. Lucia looked scanned the open field, eyeing a few mobs that littered the distant territory. Anyhow, she just had to see where Koumori was leading her. And in some way, she could take the information from this party and apply it usefully. Soon enough, she wouldn't need to rely on others to help her grow stronger. She needed to regain that independant and confident feeling once more. Sadly enough, working alone for her current position would be considered suicide. She felt as if the best decision would be tagging along for now.

  5. She'd watch as a message popped up in front of her, initiating the beginning of her first hopefully productive day. Reading over the message she hovered over the accept button, tapping once more to confirm her selection. Technology these days, it never ceased to amaze her. And to think that technology can trap people's mind's into a nervegear. Never thought it'd ever go that far. Looking up at the player, she listened as he introduced himself, along with a comment. She'd nod in response, deciding to say something more than one or two words this time. "Hmm, nice to meet you Koumori." After speaking she looked towards the exit, with her usual stoic expression returning to her after the greeting. Waiting for him to lead the way would make things longer, and she for a fact hated when situations turned uncomfortable. So she'd gesture for him to follow along before walking towards the end zones of the city. Along the way, Lucia heard a few players mentioning the deaths of some players due to them being slayed by monsters. It scared her in a way, but it also fueled her motivation at the very same time.

  6. The woman would continue to gaze at him, waiting for a response. He answered back to her as he pulled out his HUD to form a party with her. She smiled smugly in response before pronouncing her name in syllables so he could type it correctly. "Lu-ci-a." He didn't look too excited about this, but at least the female had a chance to learn something. So it was the first time she stated her in-game name to anyone. She was about to slip out her first name by instinct but it seems that she was able to get it right this time. Come to think of it, Lucia was a name that she always wished was hers. Often times she'd choose other aliases in-game, usually more mysterious and serious overall. But she liked to change things up a bit every now and then. Humming patiently she'd wait for the boy to type in her name, so she'd be able to start things.

  7. Lucia examined him for a section as she raised a brow at his short response. Maybe he was one of those kids after all. However, she wasn't one to be entirely rude on purpose, so she pondered over what to ask him. "Oh hi I'm lonely and I need people to talk to." Not quite... "Teach me the art of combat!" Not that either... The last thing the female wanted was to come across as someone who didn't look like the RPG type. "You looking for a party member currently?" It was good enough a question. The dreadful part was expecting either a no or yes. If he did accept, he had yet to know that this woman wasn't that great at combat. Agility and evasion yes, but not the actual fighting. But Lucia assumed the game's system had to make her unlock those traits before she could use them. Whilst awaiting a reply, she'd scan the area once more, watching a few players just like them meeting for the first time. There were many people who partied up like this, eh? Then they'd all head off towards the exit, all fired up to clear the levels. It was Lucia's goal to clear the game as well. And she swore that one day, she'd become a player with the qualities that can beat the game. And she was going to have to take it one step at a time.

  8. Lucia spent the night outside, for the first time in her life. It wasn't anything near pleasant to her, being broke, under a drafty wind with insects jumping on you occassionally. Just wait, once she really got the ropes of this game, she'd start off by earning money. And with that money, she'd try to get herself some shelter and food. It really was a shame that she decided to blow off all her money on useless accessories, and other ripoff items. Such poor durability, and she wasn't very skilled at testing out the weaponry either. All she had of value was her starters weaponry and the little flower asset she purchased earlier. Albeit she had no use for it. Maybe she should slap it over her eye for how useful it could get.

On a more serious note, Lucia spent a few hours recollecting her thoughts, and accepting the fact that they were in fact trapped in a death game, a horrible world where you either kill, or be killed. But if only the woman knew a thing of two on how to improve combat. Trying to keep calm, Lucia had first approached a level one boar, coming up with ways she was best at slashing. Her swings were weak, and so were her attempts at blocking attacks with her blade. The woman sighed and stood on her feet, heading off towards the City Of Beginnings. She wasn't all too far from there, just to keep safe.

All around her, she noticed people conversing. They were forming parties and casually chatting together. Yet here she was alone, but she didn't feel that comfortable to approach someone randomly. Though things like this were too common in RPG's. Of course, through other video games she'd be texting and occasionally talking. But when it really was you being put in the game, don't you feel different then? Lucia liked to think she had guts for this a least, so she scanned the area for someone who was alone, and at the least had an inviting demeanor to them.

It was a young looking boy, well in his teenage years, with brown hair, it looked like. Walking up to him she'd flash a faint yet unsure smile, but positive for the most part. "Hey there."

  9. @ Zeke: You're still around! And thanks for the compliment, it was a hassle to come up with something nice. And see ya around!

@ Koumori: Haha, same here! Just got my journal approved so I'm open for RP's~

@ Erroneous: And this my friends, is how you welcome a member.

    Anyways,

Ah, I see! Well I never knew that, but it's really weird that a lot of sites I'm on are able to do that. The forums I've been on are from the Jcink and Proboards forum hosts. Maybe it's a modified mock version of HTML/could have another name? Proboards use a technique similar to HTML, but the '<>' is replaced with '[]' and all that stuff edited which I won't mention  I haven't been everywhere on the internet. And I sincerely apologize if I have caused you any trouble. ^^

  10. Well, I've actually been on SAO for quite a while. But after a few months and a little bit of thinking, I've decided to give another shot at roleplaying here. So the name WAS Haine, but I'm starting fresh as Lucia! So hello, it's nice to meet you all~

Ehh, I'm not that interesting of a person really... I'm just your average otaku to keep it short. I absolutely ADORE the artwork behind Japanese animation and comics. It's been probably three or four years since I got into it? A few of my favorite titles are Clannad, SAO, Shiki, and so on. (Overall I'm a sucker for shoujo and in some cases other genres; although I'm picky). Kpop is another strong interest of mine (GSD, 4MINUTE, and Lee Hi <3 )

I also aspire to become a computer engineer or create websites, although I'm far from that goal as of now! But yeah, I usually load Scratchpad.io and code some pretty random post templates. (It would be awesome if you guys enabled HTML in posts, it really would contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the forum).

Other than that, this is pretty much who I am. Hope to RP with you all soon.

    Signing out,

    Lucia~

    PERSONALITY

    WHAT AM I LIKE?
In general, Lucia is modest and compassionate. She's the one to go to for an easy laid back conversation, and you can ask for advice. Most of the time, Lucia can keep calm and organize her thoughts. However, injustice can tamper with the woman's emotions. She has a caring soul and attempts to reach out to others. However, as noted before, Lucia is analytical and has a keen sense of memory, paired with observation. As of the moment she is considered unathletic and dainty looking, but throughout time it is intended for her to get into the game for real (learn how to combat). To sum it into traits: Altruistic, Calm, Considerate, Observant, Laid back, Somewhat wise.

FRIENDS: Lucia is someone you can easily approach, depending on her current mood. There's times when she gets serious (when pissed or tired) and times when she's like her good ol' self. But in general the woman is compassionate, level-headed, and understanding of other's emotions. She's not too much of an enthusiast but likes to try doing new things if the consequences aren't too rough. At first she was more talkative and cheerful to others, but the toll of the death game has made her more quiet and cautious of her surroundings. Upon first meeting her, you'll notice that she doesn't say or do much. That's because, she's not entirely used to the communication part of SAO. It still freaks her out how total strangers get all buddy buddy. She has had experience with gaming before, but when she herself is put into the game world, she feels a bit disorientated.

ENEMIES: Lucia has her fair share of people she likes and dislikes. To be frank, she doesn't strongly dislike people, but in SAO, she starts to get the feeling that she does a lot. But now she basically holds grudges against player killers and will not reason with them. However, she still does not wish to be in conflict with them but - she's still a newcomer to this game. Who knows the development that can occur.

    MY MOTIVATIONS

However, upon entering the death game, she has no apparent motivation. But staying alive sounds good, right? It is definite that the woman wants to escape Aincrad, but not to the extent of paranoia. All around her, she experiences players who have a difficult time with coping. She'll do what the game tells her to at her own leisure. Lucia could still enjoy the game if she balanced out her training and breaks. All that Lucia knows for sure, she had lots of communicating to do. Not that she minded that, it just appealed to her how talking to strangers left and right was the norm

    .THE PROS AND CONS

    »VIRTUES:

ALTRUISTIC - Whilst Lucia won't run around helping anyone and everyone, that doesn't mean she has no heart. In fact, she's quite the softie. She doesn't have motives behind her kindness, she just does what her mind is telling her to. Anyhow, the woman can be seen as empathetic, but not exactly selfless. She cares about her needs just as much, so don't take her for granted.

PATIENT & CALM - Lucia is highly tolerant and isn't what you'd call impulsive. She can take a lot of crap and act accordingly without lashing out or threatening others. Also, she understands that some things take a long time to achieve (such as freedom from the death game). So instead of rushing through everything quickly, she takes it one step at a time. It's gonna take a while either way, right?

DETERMINED - Lucia knows what she wants to achieve in life, and she intends on reaching her goals. Who knows, it might not be as great as she anticipated, but that doesn't mean she'll give up. The woman is considered a fighter, and has all her goals organized in a list. She at least hopes that things don't hinder her progress and schedules.

JUSTICE - For the most part, Lucia is morally just and knows what's right and what's wrong. So in general, she's honest and sincere for the most part. However, just as kind hearted she is, that doesn't make her defenseless and easy to take advantage of. She's sharp-minded as well.

INTELLECTUAL - Lucia has a sharp mind when it comes down to her studies and problem solving. She's a quick thinker overall but never used her smarts for things outside of her studies. However, if she tries hard enough, she can brainstorm some nifty tactics for later.

CHARISMATIC - First of all, Lucia is confident that she is attractive, the compliments she has received from before somewhat boosted her ego. To top it off, she has the kindness and charm, along with a clever and witty way of thinking. Some people could possibly get drawn to her because of how unpredictable she can get. Rarely, the woman can shamelessly use this to her advantages to obtain something.

    »VICES:

BRUTALLY HONEST - She says things the way she sees it, there's no lying or sugar coating the truth. It's better not to lie, you know? If people ask for an opinion, aren't they asking for the truth? If you lie, what's the point of it? They asked for it, so here. This part of Lucia can either be good and bad. In a bad way, people might mistake her opinions for insults and it might make people clash heads with her. But usually she never intends to butt heads and is simply stating her point of view.

MONEY OBSESSED - Soo, the woman loves money, she loves working for it, and loves blowing it off just as much. Usually the things she buys are useless, but she wants it all. Pretty much, she wants to make her life luxurious here, and the thought of having a large house and treasure chests of COL make her grin.

CAN BE VIOLENT - She may seem different at first, but if you manage to pull her nerve, she is capable of lashing out in numerous ways. But often she's passive aggressive in her ways of comeback, so don't expect her to break her fuse too easily.

PROCRASTINATION - Though she doesn't like to admit it, she's pretty lazy. In her time outside of the death game, her life wasn't really on stake and she wasn't fighting for freedom on a daily basis. Being placed in a world with a much faster pace, she really couldn't keep up, and found herself taking breaks far more than she had done so in the real world.

CYNICAL - Because of the stories and rumors she'd heard before, Lucia is rather suspicious if someone near her is acting a little different than the average player. Mainly, she holds grudges on player killers. She thinks that taking someone else's life is unacceptable. Even if they are placed in a game, if you can stop their hearts so easily, you're not human. "But oh they attacked me." So what, do you think any sane person would decide to slaughter them? No!

BOTTLE UP - Lucia can be considered fake sometimes because she doesn't show her apparent mood. Sometimes she hides her true intent and emotions through series of other emotions, which can be decieving to others. She feels that negative emotions are a weakness to the heart, so she prety much bottles up all her emotions and puts up facades whilst at a battle with her mind. But whenever Lucia has had her limit, she tends to lash out or tear up her mask slowly.

    CHARACTER BACKSTORY

    LIFE IFULOSURPRISES

On the date of October 18th, a child was born to a happy couple. It was a beautiful girl with bright crimson eyes and silver hair like the moon, named Mariya. This child was special to them, for the condition of the child was critical and she was supposed to have been dead soon. But they didn't accept the grim truth and kept praying for their child to live a long, long life. After all of this, a miracle happened, and she was healthy enough to live like a normal child. The two proud parents rejoiced upon the good news, and would tell her that she was a miracle from above.

As a child in her blooming stages, Mariya was a quiet one. She never had much to say, and often cowered in most situations. This made her a target for bullying, but luckily, she had found the courage to make a few friends who'd stick beside her. And so, things weren't that rough at all. Her life had an interesting way of unfolding. In school, Mariya excelled greatly. Her mother would stay at home and tend to the house, helping her daughter whenever she had the time to. The young girl had a wonderful atmosphere to learn and grow, and did what she could to earn her parent's praise's and hear them brag to their friends. Maybe the only reason why she did learn hard was to be the center of attention. Besides, wouldn't it be nice to have a rich lifestyle? Mariya wanted it all, and she aspired to surprise everyone.

Since then, Mariya has made it her goal to increase her academic skills, and her personality changed with time. By the time the girl was in middle school, she grew out of her shy phase. Now she found it easier to befriend others with her laid back, passive aggressive nature. However, because Mariya wasn't all about dressing up and showing off, she wasn't up with the popular kids in her school. People knew her for being a nerd, but someone you really can't underestimate.

In her teenage years, Mariya moved schools and signed up for an academy for more advanced students. And life just went on like that. There's a perfect mix of drama, friendships, tough times, and surprises. Within the years of the academy, Mariya was exploring herself. She had been constantly asked what career she'd take upon once graduating. To be honest, whatever payed the most money seemed good to her. But there were many tempting careers that piqued her interests.

Her current lover was obsessed with technology and gaming, and often times he'd drag her around to conventions and reccomend game titles for her to try. All these foreign control buttons were too much to take in at a time. But just to keep him quiet, she'd let him pull her into the gaming realm. And who would have thought it would get so addicting? Most of the time when she was free, Mariya would browse the web for the heck of it. The internet had many topics to entertain anyone of any interest. Most of the times she'd lurk around forums and sites. During her daily rounds she happened to tap into a site which explained the art behind the structure of websites and so on. The pay was outstanding, but required a lot of patience and intelligence. She decided it was a good idea to take upon computer science and develop programs in the future. Mariya had the talent to attempt this. And so she decided to focus her studies more into math and science, whilst she browsed online resources to teach herself the basics.

Before graduation, Mariya had proudly told her parents about her future career in engineering. They were assuming their daughter would become a nurse or an author, since it seemed like a position she was fit for. But Mariya was certain that programming would be fun. When the time had come to graduate, Mariya had recieved a few reccomendations to colleges of career choice. After a while of discussing and debating with her parents, she had picked the college that best benifited her alongside her scholarship.

Before the woman had known it, she was attending college, already past the age of eighteen. Now she was an adult, and had to do things without her parents say in it. It felt a little off to her, she was used to living with her family. Instead she had shared a small dorm and had to balance a part time job, social life, and her studies. It was a busy life for sure. Around the summer when Mariya was turning twenty one years old, she had been hearing about a new VRMMORPG title known as Sword Art Online. She decided to look into it online, and what she read seemed to entice her. She.wanted.it. And she gets what she wants. So, Mariya pooled up some of her savings with a little help from her parents, and kept the date in mind. She was one of those people to have waited outside the game store for hours to get her hands on a copy. But when she had it in her hands, had she ever regretted it?
Mariya never asked to be in a death game. But now she's in for one hell of an interesting story.
