  1. Teion waited for Chase to present an item for her to do something with, and listened to his half-baked explanation of what exactly he wanted her help with. She cocked a brow and shifted her weight. The item was presented to her: a lengthy sword with a distinct green tint to the metal. Shortly after the item had materialized in Chase's hand, a thin mist began to emanate off of it. Teion's mouth turned down into a thoughtful frown, intrigued by the weapon already. But then came the smell. Her hand went to cover her nose, which crinkled when she made a face at the sword and the foul stench it emanated.

"Where did you get this?" Teion asked through her initial repulsion. She was both amazed and disgusted that such a thing existed as a usable weapon, but nonetheless she reached out and took it from Chase by the large handle so she could properly inspect it. "Uhh... The durability on it is fine." She remarked, having pulled up the small dialog window that revealed what her blacksmithing skill would tell her about the item. She had no appraisal skill, so its resale value was beyond her, but she could glean a bit into its attributes, at least. "Blight?" She echoed the enhancement name when she found it. That wasn't something she was used to. Not something she could make or apply to item.

"Uhh, well, it's got a good amount of accuracy on it," She verbally backed up a bit. "and it's a really good quality item. It's got something else on it called 'Blight'. Never really seen that one before. Is that what you're asking about?"

  2. Teion listened. The more Jomei explained, and the more he weighed in on her troubles, the heavier the lump in her throat seemed to get. She tried swallowing it down once, but by the time he finished trying to ease her worries, Teion couldn't help the tears forming in her eyes. She dropped her head, hurriedly rubbing at them while she mumbled out a, "Sorry."

"You think so?" She let out a shaky breath in an emotional sigh. "Ugh, this is the second time I've just started crying in front of you, isn't it?" Teion groaned half-jokingly. She was grasping for things to say. Directions to steer the conversation. "These are things I should probably just talk to him about, huh?" Her shoulders slumped a little again, and her tone made it clear that she didn't expect a serious answer to that question.

"I guess..." She paused, trying to sum up her thoughts. "I think our foundation was all sorts of screwed up. And, there's a lot of complicated factors," The volume of her explanation began to lower to a mumble when she added, "like the fact that we're actually across the world from each other..." Her tone shifted a little, and she circled back around to the troublesome elephant in the room, "And...yeah, the things that happened in the mansion... I saw some messed up stuff." She said vaguely. She started to fidget again. "I still don't know which parts were real and which were fake. I've...kind of been avoiding asking him directly." Teion admitted.

  3. The pinkish tint to her cheeks grew a bit more pronounced and her shoulders shifted a centimeter or so upward as her embarrassment swelled a little. She hesitated for a while. Then, with a big draw of air into her lungs, Teion blurted out, "Okay, so, I know you're not a therapist or whatever, but I'm gonna give you some context and get into some real deep sh*t and I hope it doesn't weird you out, y'know?" Her mouth twisted to one side and she fidgeted a little more, letting out her breath in a sigh.

"I don't think anyone else knows about all the...history Ryo and I have." She began to explain. "I mean, we met here in the game, but... Well, there was some really messy stuff before we got...where we are now." She leaned forward and set the glass of water back on the coffee table. She placed her hands flat on her lap and reached her fingers to curl just over her knees. "I got mixed up in a lot of seedy stuff. And uhm... Well, even before that, Ryo liked me for a long time, I think. He tried really hard to get to know me, but he also wanted to give me space after Beatbox. I feel kinda bad for how I handled all that, but..." She shook her head.

"I guess, the thing I'm most worried about..." Teion hesitated once more. She swallowed. "I...took a long time to accept his feelings. And reciprocate them. And, I worry sometimes... Well, that he's going to resent that." Teion's cheeks puffed a little with air while her insecure imagination fired up. "He'll find someone else that he likes, or...take a better offer that comes along." Her voice caught in her throat for just a moment when she remembered exactly what she saw in that mansion. There was a heavy silence for a few moments, and Teion swallowed hard. None of that was a question.

"How... How do you know that Telrenya's the one?" She finally looked Jomei in the eyes, a complicated mixture of emotions swirling inside of hers. "How do you know that she loves you?"

  4. "Oh." The reply came simply as Teion stared at the blue-haired youth. The center of her mouth instinctively tensed into a small frown and her gaze shifted off to the side while she took a second to mull over his words. "Uhm. Like checking the durability and such?" She paused and relaxed her stance a little bit, leaning back into the doorway where she stood. She looked back to Chase and nodded. "Sure, why not? Come in."

Teion turned and walked back into her shop, leaving the door open behind her for the stranger to follow her inside. "You were just browsing shops, then?" She took a stab at a bit of small talk before introducing herself. "I haven't been in proper business in a while, but I should be able to help. I'm Teion, by the way." She gravitated toward a workbench a few feet away from a forge that stood unlit. Placing one hand on her hip, the other gave a small motion to the table top. "So, what've you got?"

  5. Teion was hunched over a drafting table sitting towards the far end of her shop. Her head rested against her palm and curled fingers, a frown worn on her face as she stared with dissatisfaction at a sketch sitting on the paper in front of her. Without anything better to do today, she'd visited her shop for the first time in a while, wiped some of the dust away, and had spent the better part of the last hour or so trying to come up with some cool new designs for a new axe. There wasn't much of a chance that she could craft anything to out-perform the item she'd been given by Zandra some time ago, but it was a means of passing the time.

Teion let out a sigh and straightened her spine. She reached her arms over her head into a stretch and squeezed her eyes shut while she lamented the absence of a satisfying 'crack' that her knuckles would have let out in the real world. About to drop down back to her work, Teion opened her eyes to spot a figure standing fully visible outside. She paused for a moment, dumbfounded, before her brow furrowed in defensive suspicion. She stood up from her seat and made for the front, pulling the heavy wooden door open and taking half a step out into the harsh desert air to address Chase. "Can I help you?"

  6. Teion frowned and finally reached for the glass she'd been given. She took a long drink and then held it just above her lap, giving her fingers something to fidget around. She was awkward and nervous, and this seemed to be one of the rare times her mood displayed itself on her sleeve.

She paused. A long few seconds passed. On the inside, Teion had painstakingly picked out a few words, repeated them over in her head a few times, and was now just stuck on getting them out. She swallowed, and her cheeks turned just a slight shade of pink. Finally, when the awkward tension had just about reached its peak, she got out, "Can I ask you for relationship advice?"

The question might have hung in the air, and she had refused to make eye contact with Jomei all the while. She stared at the glass of water in her hands instead, and cleared her throat instinctively. "I mean--" She almost hurriedly went on to try and explain herself somehow, only to drop her shoulders a tad and try again. "Well, it has to do with what happened in the mansion... Just, I think I've been holding onto a lot of stuff and I don't know how to talk about it to Ryo, so..." Her volume dropped gradually until her words just began to come out in a mumble. "You and Telrenya seem to be doing really well..."

  7. A sigh that echoed Jomei's spilled out through Teion's lips almost subconsciously after he finished his thoughts. Her eyes were still glued to the glass sitting in front of her while a myriad of negative feelings ebbed and flowed in the pit of her stomach. Perhaps it was one-sided, but she felt of her relationship with Jomei as strained, or at least complicated. They'd only encountered each other a handful of times, and he usually felt more like a friend of a friend. But then there was the incident during the Arabian Nights quests, and this horrible ordeal through the mansion...

Teion's normally stoic face gave way to concern, anxiety, and a touch of sadness. "Right... Yeah, I haven't been in touch with Spencer, Hestia, Jevi... Most of them, since then. And I didn't want to keep holing myself up at home, either. I thought you two were still...out and about, I guess." A short pause. She hadn't exactly gotten the sentiment out that she was after. "I don't want a bunch of bridges to burn in there, y'know?" Her lips pursed again and her eyes finally came off of the glass, but instead of looking up at Jomei they moved to the side instead to signal her embarrassment.

  8. Teion's brows dug inwards and then upwards and she was left confused by his confusion. "Wait, you don't--?" She didn't finish her sentence, instead trying to shift herself around behind the bulky mirror to crane her neck and attempt to see what Baldur saw in the glass. Though it was impossible, she frowned and tried to ignore the awkward feeling in the pit of her stomach.

She opted for setting the bottom of the mirror on the floor and having her hands rest on the top rim while she switched up her focus to thinking out loud. "Okay, so this room is one of two things: a puzzle, or an Easter egg," She reasoned. "It doesn't look like we can climb back out the way we got in, so there has to be some sort of passage from inside here that will eventually let us back out..."

While Teion went on trying to theorize about how the mysterious time-lost chamber should work, the image in the mirror began to move. The way she had set it on the ground, Baldur could still see his lower half. Then, he saw the alternate version of himself kneel down, as if the real-world Baldur was peering underneath a coffee table to see his counterpart. The sandy-blonde inside the mirror waved his hand, beckoning Baldur closer.

  9. Just a normal day. They were all starting to blend together by now. Teion made her way through the town of Fortaleza, taking the same old paths from her blacksmith shop to the teleport plaza in the middle of the settlement. She had gotten used to longer walks, having to trek between cities in what felt like a year or so ago before Armadillo's disappearance.

The streets were a bit more crowded than she preferred, but she moved along with the flow of foot traffic just as easily as the other players. She felt someone's shoulder brush up against her own, like maybe they had squeezed between her and another figure. She cast a glance over her shoulder, but with no idea who she had passed by, she ignored the fleeting feeling and continued on her way.

She reached into a pouch at her side, only for her fingers to notice that the clasp was already undone. Her brows narrowed, and she reached inside more hurriedly, seconds away from pulling up her menus and scanning her inventory for anything that might turn up missing. Instead she felt the folded letter, pulling it out and looking at the unmarked outside with confusion. Her pace had slowed to a crawl, and when another player nearly knocked her off balance while trying to get by, she gave another searching glance behind her before breaking away from the main road.

Her stomach was churning by the time she finished reading the letter. Her eyes stung with tears that threatened to fall, and a hot wind brushed across her cheeks. She struggled to look back up towards the crowd, but she did, uselessly looking over the players that went about their day around her. She clumsily found a nearby bench, sitting down and going back to staring at the words written out in her hands. She'd spend a long time re-reading and mulling over the letter's contents, stewing in her emotions, and softly muttering to herself under her breath, "Damn it..."

  10. "Oh, uhm, yeah. Okay." She agreed with his plan, standing still while Baldur put a few more steps between them and stood fully behind the mirror. The reflection of herself shrank a little and she could see even more of the elaborate chamber on either side of her along with how pristine the stone floor looked right beside its current musty state.

She remained planted a bit longer, her eyes looking past herself and searching the room for some sort of clue. Was there something in the image that didn't match up with their surroundings? Suddenly the image of herself jumped out at her when it lifted a hand to wave. She almost felt a chill at the same time her stomach flipped. She stared, dumbstruck, as her reflection beckoned her along and walked calmly to one side and out of view. Teion tore her feet from the ground and made to follow, hurriedly motioning for Baldur to pivot the mirror so that she may follow her doppelganger. "Move it this way." She instructed plainly.

She had to quickly glance from the mirror to the path she forged ahead of her and then back again. Eventually, she'd moved a quarter-turn around the room when the reflection of herself stopped and waved again. She stood in the center of a single stone slab that looked just as normal and uninteresting as the rest of the walls, floors, and pillars surrounding them. But she pivoted, tapping a finger against the back wall and then bringing it to her lips in a drawn-out 'shush', as if she was sharing some kind of secret. She turned and walked forward, vanishing behind the wall like a ghost simply phasing through to the next room.

Teion stood, dumbfounded for a moment. Then it was suddenly unsettling looking into a mirror without a reflection. "Okay, uhh..." She started again, almost at a loss for how to describe the events to her new partner. "The reflection started moving on its own, and stopped at this wall." She turned to start inspecting the stone itself, first tapping gingerly on its surface and then pressing against it with her whole palm. If this was actually some kind of door, then they just needed to figure out how to open it.

"Here, switch me." She finally suggested, turning back and closing the gap between her a Baldur. She offered to take the mirror, holding it up in place for him in the hopes his reflection might offer them another clue.

  11. "Yeah..." The word came out like an exhale, as she'd been holding her breath a couple of seconds without realizing. Her palms lay flat on her thighs, sitting on the front half of the sofa and leaning forward into her words. "Uhm..." She thought about where to start again. "I haven't really heard from the others in a while. And, I don't know if anyone else is as..." Her lips pursed after a pause, her hands hovering frozen in the air after they had moved and her eyes pointed up in a struggle to find the right words.

She started the line over. "I don't know if everyone else is perfectly fine, or maybe they're not and they just aren't talking about it. I mean, I know I'm not a part of your guild anyway, but it kind of seems like everyone's...just gone their separate ways after that." Her hands fell back into her lap, and she eyed the glass of water sitting in front of her. She put off reaching for it a while longer. "And, sorry, I don't mean to come in here and bum you out." Her mouth briefly twisted to a crooked smile.

  12. The corner of her mouth picked up into a slightly forced crooked smile. "Hey." She greeted back, and drew in a deeper breath through her nostrils when Jomei asked the obvious question of what brought her there. "Uhm, just wanted to check up on you guys," It wasn't exactly a lie, but it was far from being straight-forward with her intentions. "Hey, uhh," She almost started over, hesitating, but the awkward way of speaking wasn't terribly unusual for her. "Can we talk?"

Even after the two had settled to better share a conversation, Teion could still feel the tension in her fake muscles. She was uncomfortable, some terrible mixture of the unfamiliarity with Jomei's company, the pressure of his expectant gaze, and her own personal demons causing her to fidget, her fingers lightly squeezing each other. There was a bit of silence, though it had already been made clear that she was free to speak her mind. "So, you two are doing okay?" She finally asked. How rude was it to have practically assumed that was the case? She hadn't seen much of Jomei or Telrenya, but it wasn't difficult for her to imagine them as the type of people who 'have it together' most of the time.

  13. She stood with her hand clenched into a fist and hovering in front of the door. But of course, Teion hesitated. It had been a few days since the Holy Dragon Alliance parted ways after their horrifying encounters in what they could only call the 'haunted mansion'. Since then, Teion had accepted Ryo's offer to move in with him on Floor Eleven and she had spent most of her time adapting to the differences that come with moving from a desert town to the hills surrounding a Venice-style city. And the nightmares of their recent experiences in the death game didn't help the transition one bit.

She felt like she had drawn farther back into her shell than she'd been in a long time, but there was some little urge inside of her to do something about it. To talk to someone about it. But that's easier said than done, right? She had wasted a good couple of minutes standing in front of the door to Jomei's shop, as well as his and Telrenya's home, but finally drew in a breath and knocked on the hard wood.

    @Jomei

  14. She looked around what felt like a catacomb, with cobwebs dripping down every abandoned corner, and dust kicking up with every step she took over the cracked stone floor. "Uh..." She hesitated, still a bit confused and disoriented. And also a little too reserved given their predicament. She drew in a sharp breath through her nose, and let it out in a sigh. If they wanted to get out of here, she needed to be a goddamn team player, she told herself.

"I saw...myself? Like, when we first got kicked out of our avatars." She tried to explain, turning back and blinking in surprise when she saw Baldur had pulled the mirror free of the pillar it stood on. She looked over his shoulder, into the mirror as he angled it to include both of them in its frame. She made a face, her mouth twisting into a confused frown that her reflection shot back at her, and they both looked down at herself. Her old self wore casual clothing: a dark green knit sweater and a pair of jeans. Black socks on her feet, and brunette hair swept over her shoulder. Teion looked back up, her hand reaching for her collarbone. But instead of locks of hair and soft yarn meeting her touch, she felt the hard leather of her chestpiece under her fingers.

She looked up, then turned to look over her shoulder. In the mirror, she stood in a warm glow of flickering torchlight, sconces visible on the wall behind her. She spotted what little remained of a fading, mildewed banner hanging on the wall, then looked back to see it proudly showing its bright colors in the mirror. Finally, a larger figure caught her eye at the edge of the glass. Baldur--or who she assumed to be Baldur--looked back at her. His features looked different, but the man matched up to the one holding the mirror. Stranger still, he looked almost ghostly. Everything about his reflection seemed paler, like a spirit was looking in on the scene.

"That's... This thing is creepy." She mumbled, further unsettled. She looked away briefly, as if looking over more of the room. Her eyes flickered back, meeting Baldur's expectant gaze, and she shifted uncomfortably. "You look like a ghost or something." She said bluntly, tacking on, "But you look kinda different, too. I assume the same thing as me? I'm not sure what it means. Maybe this place is like a puzzle or something."

  15. With the four of them finally united, Spencer, Teion, Ryo, and Jevi hurriedly made their way out of the hedge maze and back towards the looming mansion ahead of them. Bursting into the foyer, they found Hestia resting with a vigilant Kuro that nearly mistook them for another enemy. Half of their team had been reunited, but the monster of this mansion still lived, and their way out remained blocked at every point.

The group made their way back upstairs in search of the rest of their friends. Sticking closely together now, it was only a matter of time before they found Telrenya and Jomei in the 'unfinished' wing of the massive building. The couple were shaky, and spent the remainder of the time with hands clasped tightly. The group swung around through rooms and corridors, evading or defeating what desperate obstacles the shadowy demon threw at them. Stumbling across Ruby and finding Kairi safely out of its clutches, the Holy Dragon Alliance was finally back together alongside their friends. It was finally time to take down this haunted house once and for all.

  16. A cool puff of air would brush past Ryo's ear, the culprit immediately stifling a laugh at his reaction as she straightened up behind him. Teion stood at the row of seats directly behind him, covering her mouth as she grinned. "Gotcha."

Her long purple hair was tied up in a simple ponytail with a silver spider accessory clipped into place, its long silver legs stretching out over the edge of her bangs and the locks covering her temple. She was dressed casually, the hints of orange in her attire contrasting with the deep violet shade of her hair and lending nicely to the spirit of the season. Climbing over the row of seats that stood between them, she took a seat beside Ryo and leaned back, crossing her legs and pulling up her menus. "Did Pennyworth show you that flyer?" She assumed, making a selection and waiting for a bag of mixed snacks to materialize in her free hand. She pulled the package open and popped a tiny pretzel into her mouth and then tilted it towards Ryo as a peace offering.

  17. Teion looked around. The hedge maze surrounding them looked just as unforgiving as every other twist and turn the mansion had hit them with thus far. And though she couldn't see it from the garden behind the house, she assumed that the thick, thorny vines were still encircling the entire area. While she took a spin around to survey the area, she also glanced around the players' feet. Where was Yuki? She's scurried off a long time ago, right? And that cat with all those red eyes... She'd have to check her character page later, she thought.

"Yeah, they probably all got split up, too." She commented, but her tone was quick to change when she spotted a figure standing down one of the paths flanked by tall shrubbery. "Hey, hold up." She called over her shoulder when Spencer started walking in the opposite direction. She waved an arm over her head, flagging Jevi as if she hadn't already seen them all. "Quick headcount, how many of the shadow doubles have we seen, and how many have we trashed?" She asked Spencer and Ryo.

  18. "Oh yeah, after you're done weighing the votes." Teion held her hand in front of her full mouth as she quipped back, chuckling as she finished off the last of a lime tart. She swallowed. "A swimsuit contest?" Her brows furrowed with distaste. "I mean, I'm not exactly wearing anything...impressive." She fiddled with the sleeve of her cropped jacket with her fingers.

Before she'd given an official answer to his proposal, another pair of players approached them. Teion raised a brow at the blonde and brunette walking at each other's sides. "Oh. Uhh, no, not really." She shrugged at his careful intrusion and looked back to Ryo, her eyes asking him whether or not he knew these players. Figuring a conversation would shortly ensue, Teion eyed another tart--chocolate this time--and plucked the small treat from its place among the table. Taking a bite, she leaned a hair closer to Ryo and and directed an answer to him. "Ehh, sure. You think we need to sign up somewhere?"

  19. ((will post stats laterrr))

"Mmmnn...." Teion rolled over at the sound of a notification ringing in her ears, followed by the sound of a ginger knock at the door.

"Madam Teion...?" Pennyworth called out from the hallway, a gloved hand still hovering over the dark oak. He frowned, more with judgemental annoyance than with worry. "The young Master departed some time ago. Will you be joining him today?" He asked expectantly. Teion was inhibiting his duties the longer she occupied the master bedroom and sleeping the day away, and the butler was less than enthused by her lazy, lingering presence.

She rolled over again when the sound of his voice reached her ears. Teion squinted against the sunlight that peeked through the curtains, and blinking awake she frowned at the empty white sheets beside her. Vaguely recalling a few hours prior when Ryo had gently told her of his leave, she pushed herself up and swung her legs over the edge of the bed. ""I'm up, I'm up..." She groaned.

Axe at her back and clad in a set of amethyst cloth and brown leather adventuring gear, Teion didn't have to walk far through the Town of Beginnings before she found Ryo. Her hair, pulled up into a high ponytail, brushed against the back of her neck as she walked. She gave a little wave and wiggled the fingers of a gloved hand, noticing the blonde woman as they were engaged in conversation. "Yo." She greeted the both of them. "Did you wanna get going right away?" She stopped at Ryo's side.

  20. "Pfft!" Teion stifled a laugh when Ryo practically latched himself around Joemi's waist in greeting, immediately teasing the man about the blonde-haired host who had been standing across from him. She relaxed a bit, in the presence of at least two familiar faces now among the other strangers. She just barely caught wind of Kityuisa's introduction and gave a small wave. Nobody was waiting on her name, and it seemed others were showing up to expand their small half-circle of players.

Teion looked around, wondering if there was anyone else they might recognize attending, but her gaze fell short. Instead, she gave a small tug at Ryo's short sleeve and pointed a finger just a few steps away to a long table that was still decorated with all manner of snacks, treats, and drinks. "Free food?" She asked in a low voice with a smile. She wandered over herself, eyeing the spread before picking up a small tart with a lime green surface. She took a bite, and her eyes shifted towards the sea in the distance. "It's nice out here." She commented. "I wonder if these areas ever get bad weather or something."

    @Ryo

  21. Teion was truly walking in on some kind of scene from a day-time sitcom. She stared for a moment, the door between the entryway and the kitchen swinging back and forth behind her as it closed to a close, and didn't know whether she should laugh or shake her head in sympathy. She did both, but her chuckles subsided as she nervously watched Yuki crawling across Ryo's and Pennyworth's bodies, stopping once or twice to flex her legs and spin some more webbing around some kitchen tool or another and affix it to the trapped pair.

She'd never seen a spider with 'personality' before. Yuki was rebellious, almost sassy as she settled herself on top of a large island counter to observe her work. Teion hesitated. "I dont, uhh... I dunno about housebreaking a spider." Yuki chirped and her beady eyes moved between the three, causing Teion to tense up as if she might become the familiar's next victim. She cleared her throat. "Right, uhm," She turned to Yuki, "is it okay if I get them off the fridge?" She asked, pausing for her to chirp again, a hint of annoyance detectable in the sounds. Yuki skittered off, retreating through the swinging door past Teion and likely wandering off to a different part of the house entirely.

She sighed with relief when the massive spider was gone. She was about to reach for a large kitchen knife when she caught a disapproving scowl from Pennyworth as she would dare misuse such a vital tool to cut them free like some sort of barbarian. Teion rolled her eyes, instead opening her inventory to pick out some cheap dagger she hadn't gotten around to selling off, and began to work on slicing through the webbing surrounding Ryo first. It came off in large chunks, eventually falling to the ground and bursting into tiny pixels when its durability had dropped to zero.

  22. "You ready to go?" Teion called past the cracked bathroom door. She was almost finished affixing a sparkling silver hair clip beside the bundle of violet hair that had been pulled up so as not to fall past her shoulders. A simple black bow was tied up against the back of her neck, the straps of her swimsuit looping around to one thick band across the middle of her back. Some white, ruffled trim around around the edges, with her bottom half sporting a matching piece. At least half of it was covered up, however, by the wrap she wore tied around her wait, the draped cloth a mixture of reds, oranges, and whites that reminded her of a gorgeous sunset. As Teion stepped out into the large master bedroom of Ryo's estate she also grabbed a deep red half-length jacket and pulled the piece on to cover her shoulders. She couldn't help but frown. The beach was great, but a party was less so.

Still, it had been too long since she and Ryo had been out to enjoy themselves with actual company. In fact, she could hardly recall any such events outside of hanging out with his guildmates every so often. It had been months now since they started going steady, and once she spotted him in the room she made her way over and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. "I haven't asked if anyone we know is going." She shrugged. "We might have to actually go out and socialize." Her expression twisted into a playful grimace. She'd finally agreed to start spending her nights at the mansion with him rather than holed away in her blacksmith shop, but she was just starting to feel cooped up. As luxurious as a mansion was, it started to get a bit lonely when only she, Ryo, and Pennyworth were around to fill the space.

    @Ryo

  23. Teion smiled at his agreement, nodding and leaving it at that. When they entered his mansion and they were greeted by the same doting butler as always, Teion gave another tiny, awkward smile as though she was presenting herself to her new boyfriend's family. In a sense, she was. Pennyworth excused himself to prepare them a meal, and it wasn't long until Ryo followed after with concern that his new pet was terrorizing the poor man.

Meanwhile, Teion found herself a seat in the den and, left alone to her thoughts, she let out a huge sigh and sank into a plush loveseat. For a minute, everything felt surreal. She was wearing a small smile, almost reminiscing on the events of a few hours prior. She pulled her feet up and wrapped her arms around her legs, losing herself in thought for several long minutes. There was so much she still wanted to say. About herself, about her insecurities, about each other and their dreams and goals. God, that was the most overbearing thing she could think of. 'It's not like we haven't known each other for a while anyway... Ugh, nonono, that's still the worst. Why can't I just be normal?' She rammed her forehead against her arm, briefly curling herself into a ball. She started over, reciting a few lines in her head. 'Hey, I just want you to know that I'm pretty bad at talking about stuff... Hey Ryo, let me know if I'm acting weird... Look, I overthink things all the time...'

"Unnnnnggghhhh." The groan she let out was audible but muffled, and she picked her head up once it was over. "Maybe... Just enjoy it." She mumbled under her breath, the corner of her lips curling slightly at the thought. How simple that sounded.

The sound of a distant clatter brought her back to her feet before she'd even thought about it. "Ryo?" She called, crossing the foyer to the side of the house where the men had retreated to the large kitchen. Teion pushed the door open, peeking inside.

    Approved!

  25. Teion smirked as Ryo appeared on the scene after her, and failed to hold in a chuckle when Spencer tapped him on the head with his warhammer for good measure. She had most of her weight leaning onto the staff of her battleaxe, the sharpened edge driven into the dirt to pin the monstrous Ryo in place. As it flickered and faltered, Teion wrenched her weapon only after its form melted away and slipped past her heavy blade. "Dammit." She scoffed as their quarry got away from them.

The sound of soft cries behind her ear caught her attention, and Teion hurriedly remembered her tiny passenger. "Oh, Spencer, I brought you a present." Her smile turned crooked as she reached back towards her hood. She scooped Noot up in one hand and then presented the baby familiar who was wriggling in anticipation after seeing his father's face again. Noot was practically scrambling out of Teion's hand, ready to jump the distance between them.

After the trio had a moment's rest, she let out a sigh and leaned back onto the pole of her axe. "So, do we have any idea where our big bad is?" She asked, raising an eyebrow between Ryo and Spencer. Teion was far from okay after the torture she'd endured in the attic, but both of her closest friends being nearby kept the band-aids on for just a while longer. Her stomach turned as the thought of everything surfaced for a moment, and she stole a worried glance towards Ryo before shaking it off again. Her fears were going to eat her up inside until she found the courage to talk about them, but that was just going to have to wait.

"Uhh... We should probably find the others, too." She forced herself to keep speaking. "I saw Jevi for a minute after everyone split up, but lost her on the second floor."
