  1. Maybe these 'cursed' floors can hit randomly at all these unlucky numbers, or something? That way it's not such a like random event on this one particular flood, but rather is actually reoccurring, thus becoming a fighting style the Players will in fact have to adjust to coming back to... yet just the same, they won't know when/where... unless they catch on to the pattern. That way 13 doesn't seem too hard/extreme in the long run.

  2. I think keeping it at 13 isn't a bad idea. It IS the unlucky number, pretty unanimously known as such. So it would make sense, and be a fun twist, to have it reflect in the game as such. Which this certain level could be rather mentally challenging, it doesn't actually rate anywhere above it actually being a level 13 floor. Besides... it makes sense that an unlucky number would throw a curve ball as such in, then it'd be a good breather to get to 14 and be able to take a deep breath again. Feel reinvigorated, or whatever. Yet the monsters/beasts on 14 would clearly be harder, even if the entire floor isn't a challenge like the one prior. I don't know... if it doesn't happen on 13, it doesn't make much sense being anywhere else... truly haha

  3. Whatever's it's called I definitely think that aspect is a must. And I'm only slightly hesitant to the deceased players appearing, simply because I feel like having to fight off human-like entities is sufficient enough to be damaging to them psychologically, without having to push them to their mental brink. I am very, very, interested to see how this concept fleshes out.

  4. I think the zombie idea is pretty cool, especially because it could be like all the NPC's from the town.

However, I'm a little more iffy when it comes to 'vampires' though. I think we should remember to sort of stay away from fantasy based things. This game didn't have any magic or anything, just monsters. So bringing reality based mythological creatures into play or whatever seems a little odd... (I know there's dragons, but... those are more creature/monster like then vampires). But the zombie thing can be played off of to suit the city/setting in general... maybe it's the devouring beast's fault. Maybe he either has some sort of toxic saliva or something that stimulates a zombie-like plague. I don't know.

I'm just really not into the vampire idea. Seems pretty cheesy. But we could have like lesser zombies, and greater zombies, ghosts/poltergeists (sort of like the little girl you help, but maybe ones that trick or deceive you), or just like monster creatures in general. Abnormalities that were created by the devouring beast, or something.

    Iunno. I'm just rambling now.

  5. I think this floor sounds amazing, especially for when the first group of people hit it. Imagine the reaction to portal into town and just look around like... "uhm... what?" I think it presents a very creative challenge, and I like the little quest thing you've come up with as well. Very suiting. I hope this gets approved... it's perfect for "13"

  6. I know we're already RPing, so we semi already met, but HELLO anywaaay! Haha... It's always nice to see a new face around... fresh meat, and the like, ya know? Hah. Any who, I hope you enjoy yourself here. :)

    • Inu giggled as the one who'd come to greet her was nailed by the blue-haired girl's snowball. This was exactly what she needed. A little lively goofing off. "Hello, strangers..." Her honey like voice coo'd, "You all seem to be having fun... It's always nice to see that... sometimes there's far too little!" She tucked a blond curl behind her ear, her lilac eyes slowly circling the crowd. "The name's Inu. Might I ask what I should call you all?" She flashed an inquisitive look, until her gaze fell to the one girl's familiar... in which Ezo was hiding behind his owner from. "Beautiful creature, by the way. I don't believe I've ever seen someone with a dragon familiar before... you must be someone very special." Her smile softened as she waited to see the next reactions.

    • Inu was getting more and more comfortable with venturing out on her own now that she was getting stronger. She could feel it in her body, which was weird, since it didn't entirely belong to her. She could also see it in how much more quickly she moved or reacted to things, and how much easier the motions of wielding her rapier were becoming. Even more so the young one saw it in Ezo, her albino direwolf. He was growing and growing with each new level she reached, and she couldn't even imagine what he'd look like when she ranked up with some of those front liners.

The thought excited her. It was because of this she continued to push forward, risking much to meet new faces and discover the different realms of this make-believe world. That's what drove her to these snowy mountains, where she hoped she'd find a monster or two, and possibly even some decent loot to bring back to the guild. It was then, while she trudged up the thick snow, that from the corner of her eye she caught to other Players. At first Inu was hesitant, as she so normally was, to speak. But it seemed likely they would draw nearer in time. "At ease," She bartered with the wolfpup. "We could use a party to our favor..." The small blonde smiled, as best she could muster, waiting and wondering if they'd come to speak to her next.

    • Inu's blush darkened as the Kirito complimented her, and almost instinctively her lilac eyes bashfully fled away.

It wasn't ever easy for her to accept the good will of others, but she knew that was mostly her own misfortunes, rather than the ill-will of others. His story about his courser, however, drew her full attention back to him. And though she didn't wish to reflect the empathy that welled inside at his words, it fought through, causing her smile to ever-so-slightly fade. How horrible it must have been to carry the color of a killer around, when in truth he was nothing less than a hero to someone. Someone who Inu prayed was still alive, for his sake. Granted, it could all be a fable, but even in this digital world there was a soft honesty to his eyes she was not so blind as to not see.

However, it was his last remark that had caught her entirely off guard, and for a moment the young one didn't know what to say. "I... uh..." Her mind raced for a reasonable answer, but she hadn't expected one of the game's best players to offer someone as measly as herself a chance... even if he seemingly thought more of people like her, than he did himself. "Uhm... would... wouldn't it be a bother? I-I... I mean... it certainly wouldn't take much effort on your behalf, I'm sure. Rumor has it... your far exceed it's level." The young one swallowed her words again, her gaze shifting between the boys eyes and her feet. Why it suddenly felt like she had never talked to anyone, like ever before, in her entire life now was beyond her. How did he make her so nervous? Inu imagined it was the lethal combo of how high a level above her he was rumored to be, the orange courser, and well... her sheer lack of confidence in herself.

But that's when, in the time they had already killed exchanging what few words they had, she could see the guards approaching yet again, looking for the boy she now talked to... the one that could potentially help her complete this quest with little trouble or injury. Inu needed that, so without a passing thought spared the little golden haired girl grabbed the boy's extended hand, lacing her fingers between each of his, and quickly tugged him to follow her away from the river front, and down one of the back allies that lead much closer to the edge of town then where they had been before. Finally, after taking a few deep breaths (as if she needed to), Inu turned back to face him. For a moment she bit her lip, nervously, and as it slipped slowly from between her pearly whites she eye'd him one last time with those large lilac eyes.

"I can trust you... can't I? Just tell me I can, and I will." Ezo whimpered beside her, but she ignored him, keeping her entire focus on Kirito. "You don't know what help you'd be to me. I'm too afraid to do this alone..." It felt like a blow to an already non-existent pride. "I'm not as brave as people like you..."

  7. Haha, it's okay. I have a mad crush on Donna. Red heads, ya know? Everybody loves a little spitfire in their life. :P

And yes, back on topic. That would be awesome! I'm pretty curious as to what the other intros are, since I've ever only done dalish elf thus far. I heard the city elf is a pretty brutal opening, given how crappy their lives are governed under the rule of men. I think that would be another one of my choices. But human noble first... I MUST BE QUEEN

    muahaha

    • Right... Raven... Bluejay... Cardinal... Raven... Blue---...

Inu's thoughts rambled on, repetitively, in attempt to solidify her goals (as if she needed to do so) as her eyes motioned up into the tree and scanned for any sign of birds. A few flashes of red drew her eyes to the far right branches of the tree pretty quickly. It seemed the cardinals were the closest, and even easiest, to get to thus far. Which seemed odd, given that bluejays were located dead center above her, and the Raven's to her left. But the trees branches became scattered and sparse in those directions, unless of course, she headed toward the cardinals first, in which it was set up much more like a staircase... albeit, a dangerous one.

It was a maze of sorts, as Inu had imagined it would be. It was very suiting to her chosen career, and her longing to specify pretty remotely into acrobatics and song. As the young one began to piece together the path in which was wisest to take she could hear Saix speak up, and tried hard to just let his warning roll off of her pretty little shoulders.

It wasn't as if he didn't yield reasonable concerns, but if she let fear well now, Inu knew there would be no way to complete this. Instead she flashed her big brother a smile in return, and as casually as she could muster, taunted him with a nonchalant comment that was very unlike her. "You worry too much!" Truth be told, it's what she loved most about him - his protective nature over her. He'd always had it, and Inu knew he always would. He was the only one in the real world who saw her, and the only one who ever really attempted to care for her. He had his shortcomings, but Inu knew she did as well. They were hardly to blame for them though. Their father had never been known for his gentle nature, and Inu knew he held more sway over Saix than she liked to admit. But there was something about a father and son relationship that she'd never really grasp... though imagined if they still had their mother, their bond would be much the same to the boy's eyes.

As the young one's smile softened she turned back to look up, and taking a deep breath, grasped the next branch above her and pulled herself up as best she could. It was a struggle, given that she was still low in level and strength, but eventually she made it. However, it was clear this would be the least of her problems. As she looked out into the next area... there would need to be a leap of faith that the young one wasn't sure she was entirely willing to take. The first branch hadn't been so far from the ground, and neither the second, but this third one put her a good distance above her brother. She wondered then if falling from this would actually harm her... or even worst... kill her.

Immediately Inu shook the thought from her mind, trying hard instead to focus on the task at hand, even when the sound of her wolf pup Ezo barking beneath her proved to be quite distracting. In attempt to calm him, and somewhat to lighten the sitution, Inu broke off a small branch... which she was semi-surprised the game allowed her to do, but then figured it was good she'd made the attempt... perhaps some of these branches weren't as stable as others.

"Would you keep Ezo busy? I can't focus... and I fear his barking will scare away the birds..." Giggling, Inu dropped the small branch down toward her brother, then return her lilac gaze ahead. Taking a deep breath she decided there was little more time that could be wasted on second guessing, and made the leap. Inu made it successfully, only having to haul herself up onto the thick branch as she had the previous one, but this put her a helluva lot closer to the cardinals than she was before. The rest of it though she'd have to tread lightly... with that leap the cardinals seemed to catch onto her antics, and even a few fluttered away to higher branches. Seeing such, Inu lowered herself among the thick bushel of leaves that surrounded her, and slowed her breathing. It was time to listen, and pick up on the exact sound she was supposed to replicate.

At least it could be assumed that's what the NPC had meant in her riddle of sorts. Not all battles need be won with force, when your way is barred do not forget your voice.
